◆ THE CHANCELLOR’S REPORT ◆

Va Birodeo Herzenav ag Edlervik,

Thirteen years onward from my appointment as Palatine and our realm now has a new King. The end of one monarch being the beginning for another is not something that feels natural, but is a necessary part of this ancient monarchy’s preservation and continuity. Though the kingdom still mourns the late King Marius III, the early years of King Karl IV have proven more than promising. The streets are kept alive, with the buzz of chatter and the flow of commerce. The nobility once again invest in both the future of their houses and their nation. My young nephew shows to all Haeseni that he has an inherent aptitude for governance - it will be up to both his council and his people to ensure that his goals are seen to fruition in the years and decades to come.

In this closing season of Tuvmas, I bid all within Haense to reflect upon the good and the bad of this last saint’s year. To show gratitude for all opportunities and good fortune GODAN has afforded you, while also paying thought to those things and people that have been lost along the way. I myself am proud of the good will shown unto my kingdom and my family by GODAN. For guiding my royal nephew in these early days as King and especially for restoring my son, Prince Sigmar, to me and my family. His miracles are aplenty and bountiful, so it is to him I give my eternal thanks.

The legacy of King Karl IV and his reign is in its infancy, but we shall all be part of its unfolding. I ask all Haeseni to seize the opportunity for familial ambition and patriotism - to seek all avenues by which you might build your own legend and legacy alongside our young ruler. Winter brings with it loss, but gives way to springtime renewal. This is our renewal, the potential for a bountiful golden age just within our reach.

KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM.

◆ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS ◆

THE DEATH OF KING MARIUS III

AD_4nXdjq6GCTAY6He1qi4p5oR57uyYEOtl7LTUAIjSut9CNm1Tm1jGaTBtznu5bjN9ZzDH2_5J3-2JIBZsY4QIZLUQaADeRZZcp1-cA44oq2rs1_-TBlPc7c9zsu_6LdMQLsi7lzLN_?key=Sdq2oOdYAA8M8X3gkTDBtJTI

The Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska & the Royal House of Barbanov-Bihar grieve the loss of His Majesty, Marius III. He passed into the Seven Skies in the year 557 E.S, leaving behind his five royal children and his beloved Haeseni after a reign of 18 peaceful years.

Born the eldest child of King Ivan VIII and Queen Nataliya I whilst they still stood as heirs to Haense under King Aleksandr II, Grand Prince Marius showed a great enthusiasm at an early age for exploration. In particular he desired to study the proclaimed race of ‘snow orcs’ which included his lifelong companion Torugyr. This led to the founding of the Amayan Exploration Society, which the young prince headed himself alongside a group of childhood companions.

In 539 E.S, and following the untimely demise of his parents, King Marius ascended to the throne alongside his new bride, Juliya of Reinmar. Their union, celebrated the same day as their joint-coronation, was the cementing of an eternal alliance between the Haeseni and Reinmaren peoples. It was likewise the first arranged foreign union to be had with a monarch of Haense in over 250 years. Their marriage was considered a success, producing a number of princes and princesses to secure the royal succession.

His legacy includes a series of successful diplomatic alliances and the continued peace of the Highland realm. Most notable was his spearheading of the effort to avert the conquest of the Apostolic Kingdom of Aaun by their rivals in both Ravenmire and among the Midland Remnants. Negotiating the abdication of King Charles II of Aaun, he ensured no greater war erupted with the aid of the Church of Canon and his fellow Princes of Canondom.

In his final days, the loss of his wife and the duties of the Crown weighed heavily upon the King. Always inclined to food and drink, his ferocious appetite began to decline until he was proclaimed bedridden. He met his end surrounded by his children and his family, passing peacefully in his sleep.

LONG LIVE THE KING.

HIS MAJESTY, MARIUS III OF HANSETI-RUSKA

THE ASCENSION OF KING KARL IV

His Majesty, Karl IV, has inherited the throne of Hanseti-Ruska following the death of his late-father in 557 E.S. Due to his young age at the time of his inheritance, a regency council helmed the kingdom’s government until the monarch reached his majority in 560 E.S. He is the first monarch since King Josef I to inherit whilst still underage, though he has proven himself more than capable in these first few years of governance.

The secondborn child and son of King Marius III and Queen-consort Juliya of Reinmar, our young ruler has shown himself to be a very pensive and considerate prince. His piety and reverence for GODAN continues to be his most defining quality, though he is likewise known for his joviality and firmness in equal measure.

Amidst the final meetings of his Royal Tour, the date for King Karl’s coronation has been set. The capital and the Aulic Council make ready to see our young monarch anointed and crowned before the Haeseni people and our closest allies. We await the beginning of a new era  - the dawn of this Karolean Age.

THE DEFENSE OF NEW VALDEV; FREEDMEN AT LAST

AD_4nXfXn6ejjJZ5bu1Y7xzCYI7M2Pyn6FXvXypjo_V9T_Iw4P5FICfB8IKKOQAKw9mtWbNvVqzRk4OWWanjB6LdXkS_A1Tk6CO1LYezh-rmIZTeGGuj8YIa9QHBh_MOzPXwdjVumjMj?key=Sdq2oOdYAA8M8X3gkTDBtJTI

Just two years previous, a band of Daelish bandits and brigands attempted to raid our northern capital of New Valdev. Unfortunately for them, despite it being the midst of a bustling mid-saint’s week, a mighty force of Haeseni soldiers and kossars sallied out to do battle with these unwashed fiends.

The Oracle-Prince Josef Stanimar, Prince Sigmar Lorik, and Duke Dmitry var Ruthern led our forces to an easy victory in the name of King Karl IV and the Crown of Hanseti-Ruska. The would-be raiders were sent fleeing into the fields - or left dead along the banks of the River Lahy. This is a lesson we expect they shall not soon forget.

The beginning of a new reign is always followed by fresh appointments to the Crown’s council. His Majesty, Karl IV, has wasted no time in filling three emptied seats as his vision for the future takes shape.

Firstly, Margrave Davyd Colborn has been named Royal Curator, to oversee the proliferation of holy sites and various infrastructure projects alongside a dedication to further enriching the Haeseni culture and people.

Next, following the retirement of Ser Rickard Tosali-Ruthern, the Crown has appointed Firr Magnus Raudrdag as Lord Marshal, to further the efforts of the Marshal-Emeritus in growing the numbers of the Brotherhood and ensuring a sense of comradery between our soldiers.

Finally, following the passing of Duke Henrik-Otto Ludovar, the Crown has decided to appoint Count Duncan Baruch to the seat of Lord Treasurer so he might continue the rapid growth of the kingdom’s coin and resources at a steady rate.

King Karl IV, joined by the Lady Palatine and the Lady Emissar, secured a renewal of our treaty of non-aggression with the Kingdom of Numendil. This successful signing followed what was an extensive tour conducted by Queen Tar-Caraneth of the Númenedain herself, providing the Haeseni delegation with a detailed history of the Adunian people and their famed White Tree.

The Lady Emissar has finalized a long-awaited renewal of our treaty with the southern Kingdom of Balian, following the coronation of His Majesty, John II and previous negotiations with the Crown of Hanseti-Ruska. Likewise, the Office of the Emissar has released its report on the recent business and work of both Her Excellency and her ambassadors.

There were likewise various appointments made to guilds and committees alongside the announcement of our upcoming elections to the Duma.

His Excellency has also announced an impending Royal Audit, where the lords vassal of Hanseti-Ruska shall be reviewed on behalf of the Crown to discern if they’re both upholding the requirements of their station and require aid from His Majesty in meeting those noble obligations.

The Duke of Kvasz, Henrik-Otto Ludovar, has passed into the Seven Skies at the advanced age of 80. A leal vassal of the kingdom and a diligent Lord Treasurer, he served under four monarchs of Barbanov-Bihar and swelled the coffers of Haense immensely. He was rewarded for his decades of service with his family’s ancestral duchy of Kvasz, which they had not held since the reign of King Sigismund II. The Crown mourns this loss alongside the House of Ludovar.

The new Duke, Sigmund Ludovar, has invited the people of Hanseti-Ruska to attend a funeral for his late father - to be hosted within the walls of their ducal seat in the coming saint’s days.

King Karl stumbled lastly upon the sports section and grumbled his unhappiness when he was reminded of his humiliating loss in the inaugural race of the Snailula One season. His smile slipped to be replaced with a frown as soft as roaring thunder when he panned over to Michael Shellsmacker's enclosure.

"I ought to retire you now and give you over to Oliviya to live out your days in that garden where fairies will humiliate you endlessly."
