THE HAESENI CORONATION IS AN ANCIENT RITUAL WHICH HAS EVOLVED THROUGH HUNDREDS OF YEARS OF TRADITION AND CULTURAL PRACTICES. The Dual Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska boasts an extremely long and proud history that stretches directly to the time of the Fifth Empire and further when the two were separate. From Exalted Sigismund and the legendary Gaius Marius to the modern day greats like my ancestor Blessed King Sigismund ‘the Golden’, we Haeseni remember what they stood for and pray by invoking their memories that we likewise will be graced by Godanistan with a prosperous reign that benefits all. 

 

I. OATH & ROYAL PROCLAMATION

The procession begins with an address by the Speaker of the Duma where a prayer will be spoken before the King will swear on the ancient scrolls his oath to the nobles and people of Hanseti-Ruska. Then the notorious nipple ring will be pierced onto the monarch’s nipple by the Speaker. The portion of the procession set in His Majesty’s Duma Hall will be brought to a close with the investiture of the royal offices and the King laden with the historic relics worn by his regal predecessors, each with their own significance to the history of the Haeseni peoples.

 

II. BAPTISM & ANOINTMENT

The procession moves to the Basilica of Saint Joren and the Broken Chains where mass will be held in the presence of the most reverent Saints of the Jorenic Rite, on show at the behest of the Crown. After the observance intended to memorialise the life of Saint Joren, Father of Highlanders, and call to mind the Epistle to his people, the King will be baptised once more to be cleansed anew in the light of Godanistan. Finally, the monarch will be anointed formally as sovereign.

 

III. CORONATION

His Holiness’ representative, acting as his official, will commence with the coronation. The Regalia of the Crown will be brought forward and bestowed upon the King to have and to hold so long as he lives and rules as King of the Dual Kingdom. Shortly after, he will be presented with the Haeseni crown and crowned as King of both Hanseti and Ruska wherein the portion of the procession within the Basilica is complete.

 

IV. ENTHRONEMENT & NOBLE HOMAGE

The procession moves then to the final destination; the Royal Palace, Kastell Lesanov. The King takes his throne and addresses the attendees for the first time as Godan’s chosen and legitimate sovereign. The nobles will be invited to pay homage and present what gifts they may wish to impart before His Majesty will end the day’s events by hearing petitions.
