ʊnprecented growth is what they had come to face. A challenging matter to deal with, but one they would surely overcome. To accompany such, and to pave the way for the future, there must be willingness to amend, adapt and let that which was set in stone evolve.

ON STRUCTURE

Its founding initially consisted of The Ramasarian Company, The Ashen Vision and Clan Tudorix. It is understood that with growth, comes the need for a more robust structure to the Union. Therefore, the Council of Ash agrees to the following formal structure to be put in place.

ON MATTERS OF COMMERCE

αչ. The Ramasarian Company is recognized as the authority of all matters commercial ongoing in the Ashen Union’s Underdark. Furthermore, are they granted the responsibility of handling the Union’s commercial endeavours?

ռψȶ. The Company is also tasked with the managing of storage for the Union. Collections of various materials, weaponry and foodstuffs are their ultimate responsibility.

ɦɛӄ. They are also to be put in charge of the housing of the Ramasarian Underdark. Taking on a stewardly role. Distribution, but also frequent checks to see that none can be evicted are to be carried out by them.

ON MATTERS OF SAFETY

αչ. The Council of Ash agrees that, in order to further provide proper protection for its kin it will start the creation of a military wing within the Union. Once founded, its official name and purpose are to be amended into this document retroactively.

ON MATTERS OF CULTURE

αչ. The Council of Ash agrees that all duties relating to education, scholarly efforts and cultural endeavours are to be handed to the Ashen Vision.

ռψȶ. The Council of Ash recognises the Ashen Vision as the primary and sole cultural and educational authority of the Ashen Folk.

ɦɛӄ. The Ashen Vision will be put in charge of the collection of knowledge, as well as the writing of various cultural, historical and philosophical works.

ON A UNIFIED COUNCIL

αչ. The Council of Ash agrees that its members are of equal authority. There is no individual with a final say over the Union. Instead, they are only authorised to manage the guilds they were put in charge of. Should one be found overstepping, the other members of the Council and advisors, are to step in.

ռψȶ. The Council of Ash agree that their ruling body, known as the Protectors of Ash are the leaders of the three main guilds that make up the Union being the following:

  • The Ashen Vision: Veluc Strixxi and Aytheln Vel’obv
  • The Ramasarian Company: Naazeri N'traruhi

ON ADVISORS

αչ. The Council of Ash agrees that notable Maehrzh of the Union may be elevated to the position of advisor. As the name implies, these are members of the Council with an advisory role, but are however also expected to aid in the day to day running of the Union.

ռψȶ. The Council of Ash agrees that the following Maehrzh are currently employed as advisors to the council:

  • Marywen Tudorix
  • Istrán Ilicaeryn
  • Koranth Nava’toul

ON MEMBERSHIP

ON THE GUILDS

αչ. The Council of Ash agrees that all members of the aforementioned guilds are considered to be subject to the Union’s tenets. They are considered signatories, just as any individual may be.

ON THE CLANS

αչ. The Council of Ash agrees that if the head of a Clan signs onto the union, all of its members are also considered to be subject to the Union.

ON INDIVIDUALS

αչ. The Council of Ash agrees that any individual is allowed to sign onto the Union. Regardless of them being a part of the guilds or not. Should they sign onto the Union without explicitly joining them, they shall don the title of Laybukh.

ON OUTSIDERS

αչ. The Council of Ash agrees that any Maehrzh groups that find themselves in conflict with the tenets, may still sign individual agreements with the Union. These are to be treated as political treaties mostly.

  • Should such an agreement be signed, both parties agree that they will work together to eventually bring them both under the Union, through compromise or education.

  • Both parties also recognize that while they are not subjected to the below terms of the Union, neither are they to benefit from its shared protection, or other services.

ON THE TENETS

The tenets, the key part amongst the founding of the Union. As they were initially intended to be loose guidelines, by which its members were expected to live. The Council of Ash has hereby agreed to revise the founding tenets. Altering, adding or removing them where it was deemed necessary.

On Maehrzh and kerenzh

αչ. The Union agrees that only those Dark Elves deemed pure of heart and of intent are to be considered Maehrzh. Anyone of Dark Elven blood who has strayed from the path that our Forebears laid out for us, or anyone of Dark Elven blood that has decided to actively stand in the way of the Union, is to be deemed keren.

  • Maehrzo is a title given to those of pure Dark Elven blood, who have proven themselves to be of pure heart and mind, and have no intention to stand in the way of progress. If an individual is mixed, they shall be referred to as etamaehr
  • The title of Maehr is not exclusive to the members of the Union. Any individuals who have proven to be allies of the Ashen Folk, but have no interest in joining the Union directly, are treated with the same respect and dignity as a member would.
  • The Council agrees that no individual of our blood is to be given the title of keren without proper reasoning. All are assumed to be Maehro or Etamaehro, unless proven otherwise.

ռψȶ. The Council agrees that it, along with the Union’s members, will construct a ledger of all those of Dark Elven blood, pure or mixed. Here, they will be labeled as being Maehrzh or malykerzh. This, so that the Union knows well who to trust, and who is to be considered an opponent of the Dream of Unity.

ɦɛӄ. The Union agrees that those deemed kerenzh are not to be interacted with, neither by the Council nor Laybukhzh.

On the protection of (eta)Maehrzh

αչ. The Council of Ash agrees to protect all of its individual members from any external threats. An attack on one of the Union, is considered to be an attack on all of them.

ռψȶ.  The Council of Ash does agree to strive for diplomatic solutions to transgressions firstly, but will not shy away from harsher means, should the need arise.

ɦɛӄ.  The Council of Ash agrees to arm each of its individual members with at the minimum, a bone dagger and an aurum blade.

չαɠ. The Union does also agree that those not directly under its jurisdiction, are not beholden to this protection. Maehrzh who have not signed onto the Union, are also not to be armed.

On the culture

αչ. The Union agrees to protect the cultural practices of their own kin through whatever means necessary. They agree that no Maehr should be subject to the cultural influences of the other races, but only to those of their own blood.

ռψȶ. The Union agrees that no cultural movement of Maehrzhel is above another. They do however agree that in order for a cultura, or series of traditions to be considered valid it must adhere to a series of terms:

On the preservation of blood

αչ.   The Union agrees to ban the mixing of Maehryl blood with that of other descendants, malyl or otherwise. Should a member of the Union be made aware of such an offense, they are expected to also inform the Council.

ռψȶ. The Union does agree to lift the ban on relationships held by Maehrzh with non-Maehrzh. The above term however, is always to be adhered to by these couples.

On violations

αչ.   The Council agrees that those found in violation of any of the tenets, regardless of how severe their offenses may be, are to be subjected to the authority of the Ashen Union. Under their guidance, they will be set back on the right path. Failure to show improvements after having been subject to the Vision’s teachings, or repeat offenses shall result in the removal, and banishment from the Union.

A smaller dark elven hand would neatly sign her name upon accompanying forms.
