Hello, yes, I'm not on the team anymore but I'm making a post as suggested listing the changes I had finalized before my departure.

  • That disgusting ROT functionality is gone, nuked, sent to oblivion.
  • Skinning knives are useless, do not craft them, I never found new functionality for them.
  • New /hooked convert command. To allow for people to get fishing drops from the modified vanilla drop table (spawn eggs, for example), when you craft a fishing rod it is the vanilla rod. When you run /hooked convert while holding the fishing rod, it'll be converted to a Hooked Fishing Rod which will then allow for you to use Hooked fishing mechanics. (This can also be done with skinning knives for iron swords, but as mentioned before, they are useless)
  • Catching a fish now plays an animation where the fish flies to the player before dropping an item on the ground. This should alleviate some pains with the previous skinning knife mechanic.
  • Fish can now spawn with varying sizes and variants based on configuration settings.

  • The entity that is spawned from the plugin is NOT limited to be a fish, it can be any entity in the game.
  • With the new animation system, in order to use a fishing net to bucket a fish, you hold it in your offhand before the fish is pulled up with the rod. I am now noticing a bug that could occur if the caught type is an item... oops. 
  • Buckets will retain caught fish data, and no longer have the rot mechanic so you can build the aquarium you so desire!
  • Fix bug with junkbag duplication.
  • Fix bug where rarity was not being applied in a proper way, thus making junk, common, and uncommon items equally easy to obtain.
  • Remove random item variations, such as descendant skull changes. They take up too much inventory space.
  • Added support for custom biomes.

And now onto my magnum opus:

  • Fishing Items now support the ability to be eaten, and cooked using furnaces, smokers, and campfires. When cooked, the item offers more nutrition/saturation.

Oh and I also updated my custom hooked menu for the configs to be edited in-game without requiring collaboration with @Daisyin order to have configs updated.

 

Many thanks to @Riverfor helping me do these changes, they worked on an updated configuration pack for all the drops which I could not have done by myself. Hopefully we can see that on the server, as it'd be really awesome to experience these changes live even now that I'm not on the team to actively work on the plugin.

 

Apologies if the post is hard to read, I've never been good at making these and it's a quick write up to help people understand what changed.

TBF I finished this about half a year ago, I just never did anything with it and it sat in inactivity hell
