Suika 111 Share Posted October 23, 2011 Hello, this is Suiko, the Elf. I've decided to leave a message on this board because I find it very strange, the economy of Aegis. I've been in Aegis for about 4 years ((2 months)) and I've never at once had above one thousand Minas. I find this very strange because there seems to be a huge market for houses and stalls selling in the four to ten thousand Mina range. I tried to become a merchant and buy goods from some stalls and sell them to other's at a higher price, but it seems the market is already very mobile and this has been very hard to do. Just today, I saw a mansion on sale for forty five thousand Minas. I'm wondering, how is it possible that a person make these many Minas? I've tried to buy an Elven mining permit for 500 Minas, but the entire mine was empty and I wasted half of my money buying the permit. It's very strange, I don't know what to do, I'm not sure if I'm going to survive much longer in this world. ((ooc: being poor is very boring))
Trazier 115 Share Posted October 23, 2011 I got started by killing monsters to get enough money for an iron sword, then killing more. Then I found an iron sword on a creeper (i think pigzombies have gold ones now instead), and used that. When I got enough money, i bought a permit, like you did, only I didn't run straight down to the diamond/gold level and find it all empty, I started tunneling right where the permissions started, and after maybe a day of that, I had a lot of iron. I sold that, made some gear out of the rest, bought a few diamonds, and started building my empire. I also supplemented my money by farming and selling the proceeds of that, which grew while I was out mining. Once you got money, it's easier to make money, buy in bulk and sell for more. People sell me iron for 20, I sell it for 30, people buy it for 30, so there's that. You can also sell it just by yourself, and might find people paying 30, but you can earn money hunting, farming, or mining, it's kinda easy. Also you should vote more often. That pays the early bills at 100m a day.
shiftnative 3103 Share Posted October 23, 2011 Well, due to corruption we can no longer regenerate mines. Ill seal off the elf mines that are mined out.
Lirinya 4021 Share Posted October 23, 2011 I have never had that much in the way of mina either~ I find I make my money by hunting. I was fortunate to buy my home in Laurelin for under 2,000 mina. But that was only because I purchased it with a friend until I had the extra to buy him out. Since then i have had no real use for mina. It just...keeps increasing... All you need to start yourself off is a small place to keep items safe. After that, hunt to your hearts content. It's amazing how much you can rack up after a night in the wilds. VonEbs 1224 Share Posted October 23, 2011 It is not hard to gain money, just time consuming. Bottom line, if you are hurting for minas, go hunting mobs. They are a great source of income. And, almost all of the money on the server originates from the monsters that prowl in the night.
MrHobo 1 Share Posted October 24, 2011 I agree with you. It is hard to come by Minas now, as even when the mines WERE regen'd, they were cleared out almost immediately, and became just caverns of the occasional ore. I used to have a fortune, built on monster hunting and being contracted by people as a mercenary. But, as time would have it, I soon became unnoticeable, and slowly but surely crept back into poverty. I think, that if you would like to make money, it would be a good idea to make yourself be known by higher-ups, as that helps. Also, there is always selling yourself as a mercenary, and, having higher-ups as friends will help lead you to the wonders of riches. I hope my advice has helped, as this is what helped me become rich. Good luck! -Fealnor, the dark elf.
Guest Share Posted October 24, 2011 I cant say Im rich. Though I am one of the many who live "The life on 2000 Minas" Its simple, I find i can Maintain a simple amount of money, I have a couple of Expenses, And a fair bit of Income from monster hunting. Though if 2000 Minas isnt enough for you, Then get to a guild, and slowly build up wealth. Or you can do what Mediocre did and screw over the economy by buying every diamond, then selling them for more.
Cossair 35 Share Posted October 24, 2011 My steps to getting my first 10,000 minas. 1) Hunt. And hunt. And hunt some more. After only a ((RL)) couple of days, I had gathered 7000 minas, which I bought a shop in Al'Khazar with. 2) Started a shop, bought low and sold high. Simple as that. ThatDutchIdiot 1 Share Posted October 24, 2011 Find a city where they offer a house for work, instead of money. You work for them and get paid and have a house + protection. Many towns provide that decent service. Also, look around on the trade forum. Many people need things and if you are on time, you can trade with them. You can also post a thread with your services (like; You mine, make a thread saying you sell cobble and coal) I started out chopping down trees and selling the stacks to shops who bought them. Now I'm trying to sell wood to people, who pay more than the cheap shops.
Pepernoot 51 Share Posted October 24, 2011 Just live a quiet life, save stuff you find in secure chests, and you'll be rich before you know it ;) My wealth recently increased a lot, in just a year or two I went from almost nothing to a house, a shop with apartments, and an extra house which I renovated to rent out. In the twenty years before that I mostly roamed the world, and collected a grand amount of books for my library. Just enjoy the world, and opportunities will rise! Golden_Richards 19 Share Posted October 25, 2011 I fill private contracts mostly. 1000 iron here, 2000 wool there. Also my Golden Harvest stores gross 3000-8000 a day ((RL)) Having an operation this size comes with significant cost though, so this is not all profit of course.
