LOYALTY DIES AND I AM DEATH

Castien is a man of paranoia, as of late. Always looking over his shoulder, feeling that something terrible could happen at any moment.

Redgar, Khaleed...

Familiar names, but from where? Was one the Dragon Knight who spoke to him in Reinmar? Possibly. Probably.

This missive gives him a strange, twisted sort of hope. Opinion is shifting- people are disagreeing with actions that Castien deems immoral.

His sometimes-friend called him a weak moralist.

The sister of one he is close to called him a hypocrite.

Both of those things may be true, but damn does it feel good to speak and be heard.

Redgar could not help but chuckle as the news of the Emperor's call were brought to him

"Did 'Oneywine forget to tell ye, he threatened to kill me when A tried my shot at speaking, 'Adrian ?" The veteran shook his head. The preparatives for his new life, far from conflict, were moving to a satisfying pace.

"A shall naye give ye the occasion of executin' me. Ye will have to earn my head, if ye are truely convinced of my wrongdoin's."

Heavy steps find their way to an empty home, quiet and cold with the winter breaking in heavy this year. The fire had died out in the kiln long ago, with the lack of care by anyone, leaving the cold to weep in freely.

Even still did the raven haired Lass make entrance, push past the door that shut soft behind her, winds pulling at it, howling, like the doubt inside her mind as she peered with cold eyes upon the Missive.

All words were missing, as they had been the past months - her feet carried her up the stairs and found their way to the stove on their own - missive neatly put into the basin where she set blaze to it along the wood.

Savannah von Rhoswald glanced over the missive, she frowns deeply "Redgar" she mumbled softly, thoughts crossing her mind she left the missive on the table for the rest of the family to read.

A young Count of Totenpfalz regards the missive with mixed expressions. Sir Redgard the Flamefed, and Sir Khaleed the Sunspear - these were the heroes of his youth. And yet, the Emperor was as close to God as any mortal man could be; His word was divine law. The Imperial Order of The Red Dragon now held two vacant spots at its table, of which Volker knew he had to claim a seat. However bittersweet, "I will bring my former idols before His Imperial Majesty, if I must," vowed the Burgundian.

Bron reads over the missive and a smile curls on his face for a moment. "...So the Dragons scales finally begin to Crack. Perhaps there is hope yet." The devil wished all the safety in the world for his life long friend who was now on the run. Should he ever broach his door step, he would welcome him with open arms.

Heimweh reads the missive and let's out a frightful sigh. "Don't let them catch you papa...don't let them... they never deserved your loyalty in the first place." The daughter of heldrakken cradels her child close.

"Na bazdmeg..." (Oh f#ck...) The elder White-River said, opening a dusty and old wooden chest and pulling out his beloved Balianese armor "Guess im gonna keep this thing close in case they go crazy and call an Aengul again to throw flaming rocks from the sky..." And with that, the old men sits back into his comfy rocking chair, sipping tea "This empire is just faakin' ridiculous"

Tancred would read the missive from his office in the barracks, the sergeant of the imperial guard would sigh looking out into the courtyard of training guardsman " we all took Oaths upon our enlistments, but sometimes personal morals get the better of us, iv known Redgar and Khaleed since the early formation of this guard and they wouldn't do something unless absolutely necessary... there are diffrent ways to leave then desertion, but they have thier reasons"

Maddock Tam read this and saw fit to write his own countermissive as Archchancellor of Beleth and promptly sent it out to be secretly pinned up by whoever dissented secretly inside the Empire, primarily those who had been violently betrayed by the Empire already.

"Hmm, how can I make this about me?" the young Auvergnian youth who worked the bar in Rittersberg joked, reading both the Emperor's declaration and the Horde's unnecessary 'response'.

The former Crown Princess of Lotharia, now just learning to read, turned to the nearest of her House's small retinue. "For Tuvmas, I want that one dead. Oathbreakers have no room to speak of dishonor. And if they find their liege dishonorable, they shouldn't have ever made that oath in the first place."

Juniper, on the other hand, only laughed, and passed on Maddock's letter to her husband. "Who made that ******* kid an Archchancellor?"

Maddock Tam wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing, but he felt the slightest feeling that the closest person he had to a mom read his missive. He went out to the Church that night, and prayed that she stay safe, and that even if she hates him for not leaving the Horde or Beleth, that she knows he will NEVER stop loving her.

Rhorgvar Frostbeard rolled his eyes as he finished reading the emperor's missive. "Ow es anehone supposed tuh take dis man seriousleh? 'E preaches uv oaths an' loyalteh loike ah street priest preachin' virtue, yet deh moment et suits 'im, 'e breaks alliances an' lets 'is dogs butcher three innocent dwedmar." He scoffed, shaking his head. "Dis es nae leadership, et's cowardice dressed in crowns. Hadrian deh Mad, dey should call 'im, fer all 'e es doin' es pissin' on 'is fatheh's legacy, an' dat es ah rare feat considerin' ah actualleh respected deh last emperor." A low snort followed. "Dis one? 'E es tagum, plain an' simple."

Hans read the missive of the Kaiser in silence, then shook his head slowly, jaw set in disdain. "Cowards, ich say gut riddance, ze Reich hast nein place for weak men." He reached for his sword, drawing it partway from its scabbard. "Death to ze deserters."

Larkin looks over the missive and sighs, setting it to the side of his desk. He glances around the room and chuckles, the chuckle turning into a laugh. This must be some grand joke. His best friends, traitors to the Empire, the very Empire his family had bled so much for. What a joke. “God, please help your lost son, for if he is lost, we must all be damned.”

"Looks like 'God's Chosen' lacks charisma to be able to do much of anything anymore, especially with that coughin' everyone is rumoring about... Maybe he's slowly turning into a ghoul..."

The Kha giggled and shook his head before shredding the paper, he placed it into his compost, as that's the only use the paper would do for society.

A crazed squire frothed at the mouth as he nibbled on the remains of a street dog within the Empire’s capital, “MORE BLOOD!” He cried.

A gauntlet reached over, flicking the side of his head "You stop that. I already had to deal with the raising of Fisandreth, so I need none of that from you. Anyways..." The gray figure looked down at the missive, grumbling to herself "Troubling times, when war creeps on one's doorsteps. Peace will only last so long. One's promises and oaths were made, and so we must keep such, as is our language. Ready your steel."
