Shamans or mysticism is the worst

Shamanism because its hard locked, preventing the community from progressing it. 

Mysticism because it has horrible formatting. Mechanics mix in with the lore and redlines also contain mechanics. Making it a mess to understand.

Mystic is easy enough to digest once you get over the formatting. HOWEVER, I do think that a lot of the non-combative abilities need to be brought up to speed with the rest of other magics.

I actually spoke about this to the people in the ST discord, but Illusion right now is unfortunately massively broken and jarring to me.

 

My main issue with it is in illusion development:

Before it looked like this:

-> Connect -> Illusion begins to take shape -> Illusion would become fully realised -> Illusion could then become super potent or painful

e.g.

His hands twitched as he stared blankly at the foe, his eyebrow quivering lightly.

[Illusion] from his hands, a yellowed flame emerged and sputtered to life, accumulating in size much faster than the common mage might, within the flames a weird streak of strange colours appeared, perhaps something wrong within the spell?

-> then u could throw it

-> then you could amplify it

 

now it's

-> connect

-> stare

-> stare more

-> fireball sparks to life, hitting person instantly, they are now in agonizing pain

 

There's no lead up, no creativity, no flair. It's just staring at a person like you're having a stroke then blasting them

Mechanics should be easy to understand in the first place. Doomscrolling 5+ hidden sections, then having to stitch apart the lore and mechanics and then check the redlines. Is absurd, and puts way too much power in the MA holder to make stuff up or develop head cannons. 

I strictly remember a certain Koyo Kuni incident where 5+ mystics were all found to be power gaming cause they couldn't read their own lore...

Shamans are dead & barely useful.
WD especially & Clerics nuked Farseer's aswell now.
But hopefully shaman future will be bright.
