  1. 1. Do YOU want me, Bircalin, a Human, as the High Prince?

OOC: Cant you just remain as the High Princess's advisor and Consort? You'll have to leave the rangers, but its nothing much.

I'm afraid there will be no departure of the Rangers. I think some of you may need to really go back and read the topic.

((I have read it, and this has obviously proven you are Human first, High Prince second? Frankly IRL I would be pretty scared if my Prime minister was from another country, and claimed that his allegiance and best interests are for his home country, and not the country he is serving in))

((Especially if he was from a country that wasn't "western". Its not like humans are just a different colour from elves, they do EVERYTHING differently. For all the Americans out there, could you imagine a presidential candidate who also works for Al Qaeda. And when questioned about his allegiance he would answer, "Well my allegiance is to America of course, but I'm not leaving Al Qaeda". It just doesn't work that way. And then his superiors declare a jihad on the whitehouse and the country implodes. Sidenote, I do actually know a lot about the State of Islam and have read a fair portion of the Kuran, this is just a lovely extreme example to show how absurd this idea is and is in no way an attack on Muslims or Arabs anywhere.))

I wouldn't be satisfied with a High Prince who works for the wardens, too much of a conflist of interest and my fear would be Malinor tending towards a militant nation. For someone to suggest giving great power to a member of an opposing nation's army makes me frightful of the stupidity of our people to endorse such a thing.

I don't see why his race should change our opinion if his intentions are as good as any elf.

Because humans aren't elves. They don't live long enough to think like elves. They aren't spiritually connected to the forests of Malinor. And because if war is declared the elves will join with Krugmar to honour our alliance with them, a human High Prince with connections to the Oren Rangers will be conflicted.

((I feel like people are breaking character by being this trendy new-age we're all-the-same kindof mindset. It seems that comfortable Western ideals have made the player base too removed from real politics to realise the incredible disparity that a human High Prince would be to the world of Aegis in its' socio-cultural reality. This would never happen in our world or in Aegis.))

My dear children of Malinor, and Aegis

Now, lets bear in mind that Bircalin has spent most of his life living with the elves, he never was really interested in living with human. He has only just recently returned to being around humans in such a way, and I am happy that he has found a place with them.

Yet, being with the rangers has given him something that he enjoys doing and I could never ask him to leave something he loves.

What I ask of Bircalin, if I were to name him the High Prince at my side, is that he would help the council look after Malinor if I were busy or away. He would simply be an adviser to me, helping me make any major decisions, along side the council. As he is my husband, I know him more than anyone, and I trust him with my life.

As it comes to the issue of war, we were hoping that a human in this position would help bring peace between our nations, as I believe that elves have no place in war. We defend, we do not attack our brothers and sisters. He has already sworn to me, that if there were to be a war between our nations, he would fight alongside Malinor.

He has always been helpful to Malinor, as a skilled healer for the druids, and as a skilled warrior, protecting our walls from the undead.

I believe that many of you think of Bircalin as taking the high prince position, as it were my position. But that is not true in any way. Bircalin would be there to support me, and aid me in any way.

We thank you all for your opinions on the matter, and believe that asking your opinion was a marvelous idea. Bircalin will not take the title if the majority of people do not wish it, yet, like any loving husband, he will still be there in Malinor, helping me as if he truly was my Prince.

The matter will be discussed more thoroughly at the coming council meeting and a decision on where to proceed from here will be made. I will not make a decision that will bode ill for Malinor, as I will consult my council, and the leaders of the Nations closest to us.

With all my love,

~High Princess Indelwehn

(What do you mean we would be skrewed, the elves were only at the initial attack on Kal'Urgaun and maybe at Galahar. We were only orcs at the defence of sanjezal yesterday which was practically a victory for the orcs since the dwarves failed to take over Sanjezal and we killed the one leading them Arteh so watch what you post bro.)

[[ haha, they killed mogroka twice and Arteh was one of the men leading. They obliterated your petty defences and then left. Victorious.

And If the guy has earnt it why not make him high prince :P?]]

He is a Human. He will walk, talk and act like a human, originally. It's elves that change his behavior. YOU. Are. A human. No matter how long you spend in Malinor, you will forever be a part of Horen's descendants. You will die shortly after entering the Aegis, while Elves may gain a couple of years.

Being taught by such wise beings within the Druids (Respiren, Apollan etc.)I learned to love and respect the forests. All will know the grand Druid tree, looming over Laurelin's centre. Not many will know I built the trunk of that tree, the very core, filling it with it's winding stairs. I was made to do this four times, it truly tested my patience. Alas, my love for Malinor and Laurelin alike drove me forth.

As for war, being High Prince would greatly increase relations with the Human people. This would greatly decrease chances of a war. As for the Orcs, as a Human, honouring the Orc treaty would show much respect. If Dwarves were to create war with the Humans for example, I would fight as a Ranger, NOT the High Prince.

I trust you Indelwehn. Do excuse me for speaking out, but I do beleive in the sovereignty of the Princedom. I studied the minds of men after I discovered that my mother was human and I empathise greatly with the shortcomings as the result of their immaturity in years. I would never consider myself as a High Prince, forgetting for a moment how the role is one I could never fill, because of my impure blood.

The council will make the right decision for Malinor. Whatever they choose I will support wholeheartedly.

I understand Bircalin has spent most of his life with our brothers and sisters. But it simply is not long enough. No human can live as long as an elf to be able to meet the same standard we place upon our own kind.

I don't understand why we are even continuing this discussion. I understand he is a great man, but he will only be vigorous for another decade or two at the most. Half a century from now his bones will be dust. And the decades come and go for our kind.

((^ This, and also what sort of image would it project that the person who is Consort to the Queen is fighting with the dwarves, against the orcs? Once you are in such a high position of power, you will definitely not able to do certain things. What you do is a image of the position you hold. Elves might get the wrong idea and start aiding humans and dwarves for your sake. And I'm doing this oocly cause I'm human.))

If he can manage to live the full 93 years of the term as High Prince, then go ahead.

It's perfectly alright if you speak out, I want your opinion.

Remember, Elves are peaceful beings, and we accept all races under our trees. I don't see why his race should be an issue at all. The dwarves have had an elven queen, and the orc warmistress is half human. We should want a sense of unity between our nations, form alligences and unite as one peaceful world.

This issue will be solved soon enough in a way that will please everyone involved. I will not have my brothers and sisters unhappy.

I think your clouded by your arrogance, In my opinion Bircalin is Indelwehn's aid, husband and supporter and you all get worked about about a title.
