Charles_Grimlie 1072 Share Posted December 25, 2011 I was pondering the dwarvern language, and how I should tweak my English to dwarf slur, when I found this on youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyzQzQWrdno&feature=plcp&context=C370be2bUDOEgsToPDskJC-JNND8yQGA2QQzOHchho I rather like how this guy has set up it's structure, as the language's writing is strictly Dwarf speech to Dwarf rune! I ask you guys to take the time and review this video, as it is rather good! And comment in the forum about it. Here's his channel if you wish to see more! http://www.youtube.com/user/SirSanje
Phog 150 Share Posted December 25, 2011 I would be open to some kind of language like the Orcs where certain phrases replace English, but English is still used. The system in this video seems much too complicated. I am not up for learning an entire new language just for a game.
Aislin 4354 Share Posted December 25, 2011 And to think that a year ago I thought people who did this stuff were losers.

Phelrin 60 Share Posted December 25, 2011 This could possibly be an offical language for meetings or things we don't want people to understand, but it would be to complicated for common speak
loakmendbe 62 Share Posted December 25, 2011 I think if dwarfs did get their own language *I am not a dwarf* It could help... Instead of making them all sound Scottish
Lawrence Berell 226 Share Posted December 25, 2011 I dunno, your dialect is pretty hard to understand sometimes, so... On a slightly related topic, now (whether it be ingame or IRL) whenever I use choice language by accident I say "Scuse my dwarf"...
Ever 2648 Share Posted December 25, 2011 I just want a swear, really. Saying 'fahkin' is gettin' pretty old.

To clerify it isn't me XD before I get stormed with questions or something like that >_< But we could use bits and what not in our own speech, because the dwarves do need a different type of way of speaking. Or we could use war hammer's language.

Arbrek the Ancient 140 Share Posted December 26, 2011 Or we could use Warhammer's language. This is not a bad idea, it's a very fleshed out language, and there are TONS of Warhammer Dwarvish Lexicons.
Supertimmy4ever 19 Share Posted December 26, 2011 i think we should have a rough english language. no hard words or such. some words can be in dwarven (like swear words), but a new language?!? i allready learn english, french, german and dutch and i suck at them. Broski 54 Share Posted December 26, 2011 ((indeed NinjaRemix, he has a perfect dialect. but the point here is that were tryin to get a language not just a little different dialect, and yes, we will ofcourse not make it too complicated because that would be too but making it like the orcs and maybe a little more?)) TEEbrown 348 Share Posted December 26, 2011 But we could use bits and what not in our own speech, because the dwarves do need a different type of way of speaking. Or we could use war hammer's language. Agreed, but I think we should just use our language for certain sayings like a greeting and such. Just not have it be the majority of our speech, gets things to complicated that way..
Broski 54 Share Posted December 27, 2011 Yes Bazian, thats what we're going to do. I might make a doc about it to get some words together.))
