Laurelin Sacked!

Well it is good news that the great forest is safe. Though I doubt Malinor has seen the last of the Undead.

Galahar has fallen to the undead, and the road south is precariously open. It is advised all citizens refrain from traveling north. Also, we are working on a plan to defend the city, as we believe the undead will focus on other points of interest first, giving us some time to prepare.

BLAST! GALAHAR?! That was the last line of defence! It seems my entire race has been hunted until extinction. I have a friend in the Nawari trading camp, perhaps he will shelter me.

The undead are bring so much of themselves to us, why do we not bring some of us to them? Gain a foothold in the nether? With enough druids and mages, could we not force some of the taint out? Possible put some of the natural world into the Nether? A safe spot for our warriors?

Life will find a way.

This.... might just work... If we could corrupt their land, we could mount an attack. I doubt that the Ascended would be much help, due to it being in the Nether, but the mages probably could find some way to do that.

You're mad to try that. There's no way our magic could ever terraform even the smallest section of the Nether. Nobody can survive it's confines let alone change it. We have nothing to combat the magical strength of Iblees, not even the Ascended. I stand by my opinion that entering the Nether would be folly. We must attempt to seal them within their realm rather than take over it.

((Sorry if what I'm about to say has already been said or something, but I only read the first few comments :/))

*sighs* This is exactly what the undead want. We are fighting among ourselves, because everyone is only too willing to point the finger of blame at another, and not willing to admit that the fault was their own, if not everyone's fault.

The truth is, a week or so before the attempt by the mages and druids to hold back the taint, the mage Ambros approached the druids in the Rose grove. He came to us with the best of wishes for Laurelin, and he asked us with sincerity to help him and the mages repel the taint and keep it from destroying Laurelin. We worked fast, we did our research, but we didn't have enough time.

The pillars were the best bet, but we hadn't had time to experiment with them as the taint was spreading fast. You say that we are "arrogant", thinking that pillars are enough to hold back the undead? You do not know the meaning of the word then, my friend, as we only did what we thought would work best. We aren't the ascended, and the fact that they showed up at all was both luck and a miracle.

And the absolutely ridiculous idea that we ALLOWED the ghasts into Laurelin to wreck havoc on our beloved city? I don't mean to be harsh, but do you even think before you put out such extreme accusations? Although at times it may be debatable, I speak the truth when I say that the druids and mages have only done what is best for Malinor and its people, and even THINKING that we would do ANYTHING detrimental to its safety is... preposterous!

Now I want you ALL to count your blessings, and think about the allies you have now that you could very well lose tomorrow. Sure, you can say that you would be just as good off without us, but let's see if you are still saying that when we are all gone.

We do what is best for Malinor, and these thoughtless accusations... sadden me to say the least.

P.S. - The druids may have left the Laurelin grove temporarily, but do not doubt that we have left the people. You all are, and always will be, in our thoughts and prayers.

((The discussion ended some time ago, we're on the subject of how we can combat the Undead.))

Josef thinks to himself, 'These are interesting developments. Laurelin was not taken, as it might have been. Nor was Galahar, even with New Terriko badly tainted and on the doorstep. The power of the Undead must truly be diminishing if they cannot finish what they start. Or, better yet, the people of Aegis are growing stronger and more willing to fight'

So instead of working on a solution to "corrupt" their land, you will continue to argue? Bah! What a waste. We need solutions, not arguing! And sometimes the craziest ideas may just work.

Debating for an intelligent solution is all we can do now until an opportunity reveals itself, peace.

At the moment I see only two solutions. We can run to some far away land, or we can attempt to seal the Nether shut. To do so I think we would need to summon Iblees himself. Once summoned he would attempt to force his way into our world by creating a great Nether portal. If we can seal the great portal then we seal the Nether. No doubt Iblees would drain all of his strength resisting our spellcasters and severe contact with the overworld completely if overpowered.

The Nether would not be sealed permanently, but for a long time. Long enough to rebuild and reinforce with weapons that can combat the undead. The risks are great, but no more than entering the Nether itself.

Summoning Iblees will not be as hard as we think. We can round up his worshippers and force them to help us.

And if we fail? Does Ibless then enter our world? I do not know of these things, but it sounds even worse than taking the fight to the undead. What havoc can he sow?

If we flee, we admit defeat.

Though, cutting off the blasted Nether does seem like a good idea....

What happens if we enter the Nether and die? Iblees will enter our realm anyway, the Nether is too dangerous to enter, sealing it is the only option.
