Name: Lorethos D'Salian

Age: 30

Home Region: Al'khazar

Positive Traits:

Benevolent - "All life has value, friend. Only murder warrants murder."

Chivalrious - "I'm absolutely enchanted to be graced by your presence, m'lady."

Protective - "It will be as though I am her second flesh so that before she ever bleeds, I do."

Loyal - "I am a man who follows his word through the thicket and the thorns."

Logical - "It's important not to let your pride cloud your judgement."

Negative Traits:

Confrontational - "I don't take kindly to be told to go away like a small child."

Short-Tempered - "He just left me there! That damned fool has no respect for anyone!"

Distant - "Aye, and my family fell with Al'khazar... Forget that, it has no relevance."

Intrusive - "Excuse me, what are you two fighting over?"

Suspicious - "I asked him why and he refused to tell me. He's hiding something."

Skills:

Swordsmanship - "Since I was ten my father had me swinging a sword."

Archery - "My father would take me out hunting and have me practice on targets."

Literacy - "My mother greatly stressed the importance of reading and writing."

Magic - "My mother gave me an impractical understanding of magic."

Charismatic - "My friends called me the peacemaker, and my men called me their leader."

Short-Term Goals:

Guardianship - "Bito charged me with guarding Anora with my life, so I will be her second flesh so that I will bleed before she ever does."

I tried to find her, but could not. I have heard that she survived and lives peacefully with Bito now, so I suppose I succeeded.

Knighthood - "I want my title back. If that means pledging allegiance to Alras and fighting for Syrio, fine."

I now know that this is no longer of true importance.

Diplomacy - "I'm planning on founding an Order to be an intermediate between the nations. It will consist of at least one of every race and subrace. Hopefully it will be able to prevent wars, as well as help end then if they begin.

The Order has been founded. The Arcane Covenant. It is functioning, too! I'm ready to make a name for it.

Magic - "I want to learn magic from the Mages Guild. Hopefully Ogland will be able to accept me into their ranks after the crossing. If I learn magic, I will be able to fold it into the combat skills I have. I read books about Knights using magic to enhance their capabilities.

Long-Term Goals

Immortality - "Iblees cursed Horen and his descendents with a short mortal life. Hopefully I can reverse this effect for my people. If I can not, then perhaps at least I can carve my name into the wall of history and make my mark so my name because immortal.

Unision - "I want to try and unite the Humans again under the Orenian flag. I have no desire to lead, but we need to remember our roots and respect the great nation that Horen himself created and raised."

Relationships:

Elwin - "Me and the man are friends. We discuss things with eachother and meet every once in awhile. Hopefully one day the two of us can begin to see eachother more consistantly, or even be neighbors."

Ambrose - "We've worked together in the past. He's skilled and logical, and knows what he's doing. He's also loyal, and I like that."

Chrisdena - "She confuses me some, she speaks sweet words with a sad face. I wish there was a way I could help her."

Keya - "She's young for an elf and rather awkward really. She's a sweet girl I bet, though."

Syrio - "I feel as though Syrio has an arrogant air about him. That may come with being king, but if he wants to lead a people he needs to get rid of it."

Martin - "He gave me armor for aiding him, so I can't much complain. He's done nothing but good for me."

Bito - "I promised him I'd defend his wife while we crossed the sea in the Verge. I respect him, he's strong and he knows who is on his side. He's helping me to become a true Knight again."

Lafhti - "Me and Lafhti have met a few times, and I'm excited to meet him again. He's a kind man who I'd follow into the Nether and back with my sword at his side."

Ogland - "Something about him is erie, and maybe even offputting. However, he is an Arch Mage with the Mages Guild, so he can ensure my status in the Guild when possible."

Lucas - "He's a bastard who threatens arrogantly and without reason. If I can somehow convince him to be civil, I'd be glad to speak with him fairly, but other then that... Violent men like him have no other place but on a pike."

Bayde - "He is a secretive man, and I want to know more. He would not speak to me, instead threatening me, but I took the threats lightly. If he tries to kill me, he tries to kill me. At that point at least I'll know what he really thinks of me."

Vor'Kalan - "The man's strong and respectable. He's scarred and I feel as though not just on his flesh. I want to be his friend, and if that means conflict must precede it, then it must."

Research and Works

A play entitled The Curse.

Krug, and Urguan stand together center stage while Horen lies on the bed stage right. Malin is the closest to Horen, kneeling at his bedside, feeling his pulse. He is old and very frail, nearing the end of his short existence. Even Krug permits sadness into his expression at the nearing end of his brother who fought beside the rest of them. Urguan seems despondent, staring out of a window stage left. Malin seems to mumble something into Horen’s ear.

Horen: (Coughing out a laugh) It’s fine, Malin. Thank you.

Malin: (With a frown) Horen… You can’t just let yourself die like this. There are ways to slow it, magics.

Horen: (The old man sits up) Malin, brother… I desire immortality more than anything else in this world… But I will accept my curse. You should, too.

Malin: I shall not! You have been with us; we did battle with Iblees, the four of us! Without us, Aegis would be absolutely ruined, even more so than it is!

Horen: Malin, the length of my life is of no consequence to God and our Father. I will die, but I will die knowing I have been at your side.

Urguan: (Dashing across the room, past Krug who then begins to stare out the same window) You ain’t just gonna die on us, y’know! We need ya! Yer people need ya! Don’t be so selfish!

Horen: I’m not being… Selfish… I just… My time is up, Urguan. Iblees may have placed the curse, but God has willed that it be so, or he would have stolen the curse back. So I will die, whether I desire to or not. I will walk in the Seven Skies.

Krug: (Without moving) Latz be lettin’ yerself die fer nutin’.

Malin: (Nodding, realizing that Horen is right, he sighs) Krug, Horen wants to walk the Seven Skies with Father. I say let him. We should accept his curse as we must accept each other’s.

Krug: ‘Ow can ye blah dat, eh!?

Urguan: Aye, what be yer right ta be tellin’ us what we must be doin’!?

Malin: We are brothers, Krug, Urguan. The Orcs and the Elves and the Dwarves and the Humans… We must see each other in that most beautiful light that shines on all of us. Even my separate children, the Dark Elves, the Wood Elves and the High Elves disappoint me at times. Their petty squabbles at one another tell me that they do not see themselves as brothers, but as rivals. We are brothers, the four of us, and all our people.

Krug: Da Urkuh jus’ don’t tink like dat. We killahs, ya know, our Curse can’ be jus’ accepted. We kill tings.

Urguan: Krug… I think Malin speaks tha truth. I’ve seen it b’tween the clans o’ my people. They ‘ate on eachotha’ for wealth and power. They ‘ate on otha races for wealth and power. The jealousy we got is nothin’ I’m proud o’, but it’s in us and it’s somethin’ we gotta accept, ya know?

Krug: I be seein’ all da other races, but many o’ dem don’t ‘ave all der people in der Kingdoms. Der be many free orcs dat I got no control o’er.

Horen: (Sitting up further) It’s not a thing we need between nations, Krug. It’s a thing between peoples. If we can all look at each other and see a brother instead of a curse, then Kingdoms and free men can all be reasonable and kind. I believe even the orcs can hold close friendship of the dwarves and the humans and the elves. (He coughs loudly, worked up after his short speech. His brothers, even Krug rush to his side.)

Krug: Latz be right, bruddah… (He says with sadness in his voice) We all be bruddahs and sistuhs. We be togetha’.

Urguan: Horen, if ya go an’ die on me now, I swear I’ll kill you.

Horen: (Lets out a wheeze of a laugh) Urguan… Krug… Malin…

With all them at the bed, Horen puts his hand straight out. Krug takes his wrist in his large orcish hand. Urguan takes Krug’s wrist with his sturdy dwarven knuckles. Malin’s agile hand takes Urguan’s wrist and Horen, whose wrist is gripped by Krug, grips Malin’s wrist. The symbol of unity remains as Horen slowly grows limp and dies. Krug, and Urguan lower their eyes to the ground, and begin to pull away.

Malin: Not yet…

Urguan and Krug turn back and nod, smiling now and holding their bond tight. The curtain falls.

(( Wow, this is amazing, adding relationships and such. It's all organized and simply just perfect. I may use your idea on my journal if you let me? ))

This leather-bound tome is well kept, but there are both water and bloodstains on the first page to go along with the entry, beautifully written into the page with the most precise letters obviously trained on for quite a time.

I do not know who I am anymore. I have journeyed and ran with the elves in their luscious forests, battled with and against the Orcs in their scorching deserts, and dove beneath the earthen lands with the Dwarves. I do not know if it is acceptable to call myself a Knight with my status at the moment. I have met several people on my journeys, and now Oren has fallen. If I had been there, maybe I could have fought and changed something. Instead I was delving into the world with a Dwarf whose name I don't even remember.

And after those years of mercenary work, I am battle-worn and soul-torn. I never joined the Mages Guild, as my mother so wished, and I didn't stay and fight for Oren, as my father wished. I walk a path soaked in aimlessness, and it's painful to know that my entire family fell to the Undead while I was killing cave spiders. I regret this, but I know that Horen watches over me and guides me, and where I am walking is right.

I met the High King of Alras, Syrio. I asked him what I would need to do to gain the title of Knight. I realize that I am not loyal to Alras as I was to Oren, but I was loyal to Aegis, and I could best serve Aegis as a Knight. As a result, the High Constable, Bito, sent me to protect his wife, the Harvest Duchess. Iblees attacked a few weeks after, and it was devestating and unexpected. Champions were sent to destroy the nether. They succeeded, it appeared, but afterwards Iblees summoned Dragons. They destroyed the Cloud Temple, and everyone was forced to escape to the Verge. Some of the champions died, as well as the one who brought the blessed axe to destroy the Nether.

In the Verge, I searched for the Harvest Duchess. I am charged to protect her and that is all that matters right now. I'm a man of my word.

Hmm...I think I've seen this format on a few forum RPs I've visited. Nice idea, though. Haven't considered using it for game roleplays, like this.

If you don't mind, I'd love using this format for the journal I want Keya (My character) to write, when she gets the desire.
