((in 'general' years, it definitely is. Nobody really gets the whole elven/dwarven/human year comparison anyway so just assume general years from the speed with which the date changes ingame)).

Those who know the language in enough depth to teach beyond minor pleasantries and titles seems to have dropped in number since Aegis fell. I hope you can find someone with the knowledge of more Elven than I have forgotten.

I've learned some bits of an old elven language. Unfortunately, I do not know if this is in fact elven language or another variation, seems to be more ancient than the High Elven.

I am afraid High Elven isn't a language. Old-years' High Elves used a very similar variation of the common Old Elven. Or so it seems reading the books in the Haelun'or library.

It's like now a days: We all speak the same language, but, Orcs speak a different variation, Dwarves speak other, Elves another one, Humans the main one, etc. It wouldn't be strange if we find each sub race of elves spoke a variation of the main one.
