Is this to prevent people from spawning items in creative and throwing them on the ground so that they can pick them up in regular mode? If so, sounds good to me!

Well I rememeber being told that they removed creative mode from the server to stop creative mode bug exploits... So this is more likely a bug concerning the actual item itself.

I think Vaqs post pretty much answers every question.

It's not a bug. It shouldn't be affecting items, other than the ones Shift mentioned and it will be just temporary.

#Idonthavefactstobackthisup but, people have been exploiting the system to get infinite diamonds and gold.

Now, I have not done this, but I have heard rumors of people who have. It should also be noted that I would post how I think they are doing it, but IMHO posting exploits is just as bad as actually using them.
