What about bandits raising nations? Which time does that fall under?

I'm guessing it would follow the faction rules.

These seem like some fair rules-what marauding parties don't ever understand is that it takes alot of resources to organize an attack, ICly. Even rich cities would exhaust themselves realistically, and would even be vulnerable to attack themselves after attacking somebody.

We should make resources matter a bit more I think.

#1: I am absolutely in agreement with these rules imposed, I have no quarrel with Shift for initiating these Terms.

- To Arik: Actually, realistically, it all depends on the welfare of the economy of an Empire, it actually does not exhaust much depending on the Government, the Culture, and the Society that any 'faction' contains. Take for Example the Khanate that invaded from the east into the Middle East and parts of Europe, it never truly exhausted them as they praised war-like tendencies and they trained everyone equally (Temujin enforced that children be taught archery and wrestling at early ages) and his economy was bolstered by the land he took, the resources he gathered, and the fact that he was oversaw the Silk Road territories. Even Venice, due to a powerful economy, was capable of hiring masses of mercenaries such as Condoterri and such. Thus I think the Orc Nation can war at powerful and fast rates whereas Salvus and Renatus not so much as their culture is more peaceful, so when war is inevitable, realistically they fall back on levied militias, thus using untrained and taking in casualty rates higher than warrior status Orcs.

Fair enough-but I think we both agree that resources should play a role where they are due, yes? I appreciate the elaboration on your part.

This seems to be pretty good. Covers a lot of things players might miss. Thanks for posting Native. =)

I hope this will actually make it better, before, people would just run back to the fight.

Terms of Conflict

This allows for some more time spent between conflict, for intrigue & diplomacy!

Great idea. I thought something was a bit out of place when salvus got raided 4 times in a SINGLE day by 2 groups.

Could you also maybe draw up a limitation on siege declarations? Like maybe one per month or half month against the same place? A siege is basicly saying "WE ARE GOING TO TRY TO DESTROY XYZ PLACE!!!!" if you get repelled it's stupid to go "WE WILL TRY AGAIN IN TWO OR THREE DAYS!!!!" A place that repels a siege should get at LEAST a fortnight of peace to recover.

I agree, because Renatus decided not to take a strategically important fort because we didn't want to have to fight off a siege every three days...

Terms of Conflict

  • If you have recently taken place in an attack on a village or town you are to not return to that settlement looking for a fight until 3 actual days have passed. ( 72 hours )

  • A Faction or Guild can only attack a City or nation once every 4 actual days. ( 96 hours )

  • If a Nation wishes to wage war on another nation, they must wait a week between attacks. ( 168 hours )

  • This includes guilds / factions allied with attacking nation.

This allows for some more time spent between conflict, for intrigue & diplomacy!

Comment below,

I wonder why this was put in affect :P
