Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am currently a college freshmen living my dream: friends, education, food whenever I want it; the list goes on. I avidly game, and play Dungeons and Dragons regularly with my friends, for whom I DM. I generally find myself looking for something awesome to do, and I’m really hoping to find an entertaining … something with which to spend my excess time.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Anywhere from two to twenty hours, dependent on course loads and other circumstances.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying is the art of suspending disbelief; it is a way of temporarily living entirely in a different, albeit unreal, world. In regard to my own personal experience, I consider myself a decent roleplayer, and I’m always looking for ways to improve.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are: Metagaming is thinking outside of the game world. For example, if one were attacked by bandits, instead of running/screaming/dying, they would instead log off. This ruins the atmosphere of the game, and makes it less entertaining for everyone else. Powergaming is the exclusive focus of a player on a single goal, such as powerleveling, and often includes a complete disregard for other aspects of the game, such as the story.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be similar to a full-scale dungeons and dragons world, but of course missing the DM. With so many people roleplaying, it will quite literally take on the appearance and characteristics of an actual world.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have yet to play on any other minecraft servers.

In-Character: Xanthal

Character Name: Xanthal

What is your Race?: Human.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Xanthal was your average, run of the mill human, stuck in his miserable childhood on the farm. Drought, famine, and ruthless bandits forced desperation onto his town, and his father sought a way to save his son for impeding starvation. The solution came to him one cursed night, when he ripped out his heart to turn his soon into a creature able to survive the death of night: a vampire. Xanthal , infused with fiendish new desires, fled his town and almost his world in order to combat the evilness within him. After centuries of wondering the lands, he has come to terms with his existence, and keeps peace with himself. His scarring youth leaves his a quiet, distant soul, but with time he shows deep friendship and compassion to those close to him. It is this man, youthful and mature, who finds himself in the land of Aegis, after years of wandering and self-examination.

Your characters ambitions: Xanthal quests for the ability to help others, but is hardly cookie-cutter in his methods. He yearns to be the silently benefactor of society, the invisible angel, if you will. Therefore, he seeks wealth, personal ability, and influence in society, and masks his plots behind a detached attitude. Success in his mind equates to giving his support to all, be it as nobility, ruling over subjects while secretly assisting those suffering, or pull strings on a puppet mayor for the betterment of the public. His plans a long in the making, however: centuries of life have given him patience not easy to match. When he can, he helps those around him with their lives, but he acts in secret, and it is rare indeed if a benefactee knows the identity of his silent helper.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? I watch, silently and from afar. Then I will go on my way, unless either side quests aid. If such aid is requested, I will do all I can to end the combat, giving assistance to neither side. I would seek a peaceful resolution, ending the conflict quickly and efficiently while offering support to none.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? I pause, long enough for the owner to know that there will be no pleasantries with me, and then state the nature of my business in a hushed voice, suggesting the need for secrecy.

Other Information: Addendum to the “Race” question: While technically no longer a human, Xanthal identifies himself with his former race and considers himself a human. He does, however, freely associate with any and all races (in his usual way), and, other than identity, shares little with humans on a whole.

Your biography is too short and needs some expansion. Please include the entire question when writing your biography such as your characters history, personality, description and age. With the description don’t just write He is tall and old and carries around a bow. There are a lot of tall, old people who carry around bows. Get descriptive, what is your hair colour? How long? Eye colour? Big eyes? Small eyes? Do you have wrinkles? Freckles? A mole? Etc. Also, if your character is good at swordsmanship, bows or even magic you need to explain in your biography why your character is so good in what it does and how it developed these skills. We would like you to include some lore from the world of Aegis and/or Asulon such as names of towns and people, or even events which have happened before and your characters connection to the event.
