Improving Dwarven Roleplay

As you know, the dwarves have been having trouble lately and things aren't getting done as they should be. There where a lot of posts about this and they had many ideas through out them. I think the first step in improving is getting all the ideas from the community down. So I was thinking for getting the community of dwarves together, regardless of living in Karik, to improve the dwarven roleplay as a whole. So what do you guys think?

I agree, I made what I think would be a great idea to get the dwarves back together. The mining expedition.

This would include all the dwarves as a whole race rather then just the dwarves at Karik.

We basically NEED to re-unite, I was talking to CountJuno88 and he came up with an idea to COMPLETELY start over. We would rebuild the Dwarven Capital in a new location preferably closer to spawn to increase traffic. The city would be smaller so there wouldn't be one Dwarf every 100 blocks and we would be closer and more rp would be achievable. I think this would benefit us GREATLY as a race. Closer, easier to defend, more RP, better in general, the Dwarves as he stated need to get back to our roots, in their halls clanking their mugs and hammering on their anvils. It would be nice to have, in my opinion, one hall, moderate in size with pillars similar to the old inner-Kalurguan, with housing, shopping, thrones/meeting rooms, guild houses and all, all together, then, as we NEED more room expand, we started huge and had nowhere near enough players to fill it and that was the major flaw of Karik. This is a chance to start over and he hinted at the fact we would have GM help so we could probably achieve this in a quick amount of time.

Hmm... A new capital? What will become of the one we have atm? We could use it for events like arena matches, and loot everything else.

Exactly, we would take what we want, leave the rest, it would be a nice RP abandoned city or could even be a fort for us. Or even like a right of passage, you know like high ranking people (grand councilor, King, ect) could go and kind of learn something from the ancients or something IDK but we NEED to move if we are to save the Dwarven Nation, we are sinking everything into saving Karik and its wasting our time, its just too big, simple as that, if we move we can salvage our good start fresh and learn from our mistakes. The city is just too big and messy to salvage. And i'm not saying it doesn't look nice, architecture is great, I even helped build some of it when the new map wasn't out. We just need to move.

In my opinion even kal'urguan was a tad to big...hall heights of 10-15 is far enough would be better if we would have like a cave system of idk 30 caves. Like a maze for other races but a wonderfull home for dwarfs.

Best idea. I think we should find a place to put it though before talking about its design.

Just an idea. Why don't we have the city cut in to two sections. Now before you say no, think about this... How about we make the main part, were we live and government affairs, of the capital secluded from every other race, as in my opinion it should have always. It doesn't need to be far away, just unseen to the average person. Maybe have a complicated network of tunnels to get to the main entrance. And have the second part of the city were we trade, and have competition with other nations.

Another way of saying this would be to put the king's castle, clan halls, guild halls, treasury, and housing underground and secluded from any non dwarfs. The other section would be the shops, inns, and arenas; were we would socialize with other races and gain some income.

Personally I would like an intricate system of tunnels that only dwarfs would know how to traverse and have it littered with many traps for those that wonder off. ;)

I agree, there should be an easy to acces section of the city for the other races. We should than have a maze thing to keep them out. Maybe have a secret design? Like always turn left or something?
