Song Druid 1486 Share Posted March 10, 2012 I edited my original post by the way, if you would like to see what else I said. I have always been against keeping players from LWC and craftbook(now falsebook). And I have always been vocal about it. Shops aren't so bad as players can run and maintain shops in character without a plugin. Finally, I think I've mentioned "t-shirts" and other LotC merchandise like four times now and nobody has responded, but I know for a fact that we offer them...>_<

They cost $ to ship. Not everyone wants shirts. We barely are surviving as it is... EDIT: If this "high lordship" and "kingship" is abused, obviously we'd simply ban the person. Song Druid 1486 Share Posted March 10, 2012 We are not Legendary Craft. We are not Herocraft. We are not any other server, we claim to be nothing more than the greatest, strictest RP server in minecraft. Do not misunderstand me-I am all for rewarding donors. But there are other ways, that don't affect RP. Why not give them exclusive access to a LotC SMP server or something? "VIP Server". Etc. My point here is that any perk that affects a character in the slightest that is unattainable through regular RP as a non donor, should not be here. Aislin 4354 Share Posted March 10, 2012 It makes sense for these people to be the leaders as they're the ones that allow us to continue to stay online. No it doesn't make sense. Are you aware of how much time, intellect and dedication it takes to become a nation leader (a good one). It takes a lot of work to get to these positions, RPly and OOCly, and almost nobody is fit to lead a nation. Hell, half the current ones are even fit to do so. Just because people donate more does not mean they should be granted positions, or even an advantage in getting this position. I disagree with the in-game perks as well. Sure, it's more practical for financial needs, but RPly it is counterintuitive. As much as I'd like to outright condemn these perks, the server will probably be dependent on them.
Daniel 88 Share Posted March 10, 2012 These perks seem reasonable and how many people do you think will donate 500 dollars only possibly around 3 that will have up to level 300 skills that seems reasonable.
Lawrence Berell 226 Share Posted March 10, 2012 No more talk/arguments, please. Take it to TS or Skype, or PM. This is not the place to argue about such things. If you keep this up, then you'll see some blue next to your post. Aka, a warning. Vaq, I know I can't warn you, so I ask you nicely to stop. My input? Quit moaning, quit posting about it, no one's forcing you to donate for these things.
Deleted User 009 0 Author Share Posted March 10, 2012 Oh my god, this whole "high lordship" and "kingship" does not mean you donate and immediately become the god-king of anything you want. If you read the description, it simply states that "Being a Kingship member may grant you favor ..." MAY GRANT you, you are not guaranteed a magical rank, and it will still all be handled IC. Do you think we're that stupid lol... And who is going to donate $500 unless they truly adore this server and would only want to improve it anyway. Lirinya 4021 Share Posted March 10, 2012 Seems that no matter what perks are added or taken away, people will find fault. There will be very few people who can even afford $500 status. The lordship 'thing' has been in game for some time. Nobody really donates for it. Infact, I know people who only donate for the plots of land or for the LWC perk. I honestly don't understand your problem. If we're commenting on the stats, could you say it fair then that people can donate just to have a stats redistribution? Because that may make no sense in RP and they could instantly get 99 swords? This isn't saying you can have 125/125 swords, it's saying that a person can have 25 extra points to add to their stats which, in an RP sense actually makes sense. Shirts, mugs etc cost a lot. You have to think the server needs to make a profit to do this. I have utterly no idea how much it costs to run but unless you can guarantee us tuns of people donating $$$ every day, I don't even think this is a wise move. We're not a company as such, we don't make our own merchandise. We order externally e.g the shirts. Another company handles that so in effect we would be spending donation money needed for the server on merchandise? Wise move?

Sawses 58 Share Posted March 10, 2012 Hmm...Most of this is nice. The kingship really won't matter in RP, as...well, unless it's enforced that only those with it can lead nations, you'll still need to be a great roleplayer to even think of ruling anything. I especially like the Grass VIP option and the unlimited character resets for Aether VIP. The 'unlimited access to admins' thing is rather nice, too, but I'm sure that idiots who constantly bug you will be annoying, after a while. :3 TL;DR: +
