((Currently, our military is the finest RP military on the server. We would likely lose to most nations in a war, but our RP is fantastic and I am exceedingly proud of this. I do not want to let lazy, PvP-oriented players to ruin this, and I strive to ensure that we continue to have the best RP on this server.

The application is you showing you to me. If I have never seen you before, this is your only chance to impress me. And if I'm not impressed, I will deny you without hesitation. I wrote up this sample application in 15 minutes so you could have an idea of what I'm looking for.))

Combat skills:

I was born and raised a farmer in Laurelin, my parents pacifists that despised violence and killing within Aegis. When the other boys went outside to pretend they were Wardens and fight each other with wooden swords and their own fists, I was a slave to the fields, harvesting for our very survival.

However, bandits have been a problem in every location within society, for as long as there was hate within life, and our little farm in Laurelin was no exception. After three of our prized cattle went missing within a weeks' time, I began to practice the bow in my spare time, me being too weak for a heavy blade (much like my father). I continued to finish my work as quick as possible so I could practice with my little bow. I grew decent enough with it, and can shoot well enough to hit a bandit or two hell-bent on torching my crops.

Non-combat skills:

Though I enjoyed practicing with my dearest bow, my life was dedicated to the hoe. Harvesting, ploughing and all other sorts of farming terms that you wouldn't understand was the language I spoke, and I was fluent. I have yet to find a halfling as adept a farmer as I; I could plant a seed in the snows of Hanseti and turn it into gold.

Experience:

I have no experience in any military organization, but I have always lived a life of service to family, nation and self. I will continue to embody this philosophy until the day I die, and I hope this will be on the frontlines, in the heat of battle, falling to the blade of a great warrior whose name shall be sung by bards for years to come.

Why you want to join:

I want to join because Alras has been my home for many years. Though I grew up in Laurelin, living the life of a peaceful farmer, my heart belonged to Alras once we moved to Asulon. The nearby Mori threat frightened me, and I saw them kill and enslave many dear to me, but I found myself helpless to save them. Fear overwhelmed me like Iblees did Aegis so many years ago, and I fled across the ocean in a small wooden boat I got from the High Elves. I went straight, or as straight as one can in a small boat, and continued to walk straight once I hit land. I stumbled upon the beginnings of Alras, still just a tent camp, and lent my hoe to Anora Firmheart, a more talented farmer than even I. I worked on the farms for many years, almost 20 in fact, and had a comfortable life in Alras, growing to love the community and our leader, High King Syrio.

But I began to grow anxious, and I experienced a sense of unfulfillment in my life. For years I had heard the call of duty with my marvelously pointy ears, but had neglected it, and watched my friends answer it, and often perish because of it. Alras is a land that has loved me in the face of my love towards it grounds and soil, and I feel this is a place that I should be willing to die to defend. As such, I want to serve among the ranks of the Ram and defend our people.

Also, I heard Lord Aislin is perhaps the greatest person alive.

Other: I am friendly and willing to learn, but sometimes cower in the face of criticism or abuse.

Combat skills: *smiles as he reads the line before him* *he places the pencil gently on the paper and writes in quick, neat strokes* I am quite skilled in the blade, and can point a bow at a skelton from as far as the eye can see. *smiles gently* The sword is something that I hold dear to me, it isn't something to be taken lightly, as it is something used to murder. This word must not be used lightly, as it isn't something that can be redone. It is a permanant solution to what may be a temporary problem.

Non-combat skills: *looks to the axe and pick beside him as he starts to write* I am very good at gathering materiels, such as ore and wood. It isn't my craft, but something I tend to do very well at. I try to be as productive as possible, so to provide for myself, and hopefully the alrasian order as well. *looks to the hammer on his belt* I am a skileld smith, I trained under my father for 20 some odd years. I can make armor like no one has ever seen, and I can repair whatever the order needs.

I know there are a lot of smiths in alras, and that they may be quite good, but my fees are absolute zero for the military, all I need is supplies, which are ample in the great merchant city here.

Experience: *frowns slightly as he looks at this line on his page* I am not experienced in killing, nor am I in fighting. All I can give to you is my will to become stronger, and my insight to know where to lay my trusts. I want to be able to say "I was in this order, and it was my home, my true home"

Why you want to join: *smiles brightly at this last bit as he begins to write merrily again* I am wanting to serve alras. I have not been in alras for long, but I have heard amazing things. I hear that the very fountains run with pure water, filtered through gold itself, that the people are lined to the teeth with jewelry. I know this takes time, money, and power. I don't want that. I want to protect it though. The morales of it's people are just, and the reasons for waht they do are sound. I want to make the people here feel safe, and I want to make anyone or anything that would harm that go away. If this means I have to raise my sword to the throat of a thief, or a cutpurse, I will gladly do it. I would do it for the people, the nation, for asulon!

((He's never seen your RP. Players with not as much depth yet are accepted with their applications have probably RPd before in Alras. Seeing what someone brings to the table on a first impression is much more different. They have essentially done the RP standards that we look for. You have not. It's simple logic really and RPly you do not have access to those past applications :P))

Also, I'd like to clarify something to everybody:

Despite the Vigil's claims of my villainy, I did not ever ask them to leave Alras, nor did I try to disband them. I simply removed them from the Alrasian Order, they are still a part of the Alrasian Military, just as a separate branch. That is all.

Experience: I have not much experience besides beating on my younger brother Luigi when we were young and living out in the wilderness of Aegis at my camp where I usually had to fight of invaders.
