Observations Of The Haelon'or

While trying to understand the enigmatic power of Gaia, Safen ventured to Haelon'or, to their benevolent Silver City. At first their walls had proven quite an obstacle as their gates remained locked tight from outsiders. Thankfully after using all his physical momentum to push himself upon a high wall. Safen had managed to find himself inside the Silver City, immediately Safen set to meditating upon Gaia's Power in order to hide better. Casting a shell of invisibility upon himself to hide the fact that Safen walked very quietly. Much to his surprise the High Elves themselves were hard to find, in itself that was a benefit. Their library was un-guarded which made it so much easier to find what these mysterious Elves knew of magical power.

Although there were many similarities to the culture of the High Elves, and to that of the Ascended, and Enlightened. They were devoutly conservative in nature from much of what he had read in their tomes of culture, they did not wish the outside influence of others. Seeing themselves as separate but not equal to the other races of Asulon. Thankfully Safen was quite use to conservative types, due in part to his past experiences to the Ascended. But there was so much more to it then simply reading a book of them and knowing the person. But at least for the most part he had an idea.

When day came, he had his first chance to observe and note the High Elves firsthand. Some had gathered below discussing the kidnapping of one of their own. After reading through their dictionary of words and phrases Safen was noted the respectful tones they regarded one another with. However with at least one human who was there, conversing with them below. It seemed they regarded him with an eye of speculation, and reservation. It begged the question if the High Elves trusted him to be quite honest, even though he was not of their race.

Listening further to them, Safen dared walk closer to gain a better understanding of them from his perspective. In a small regard he wished that he could meet them under better circumstances, then the guise of deception. However the words from outsiders who had ventured to meet the High Elves was met with shunning or outright exile from their city. Still, they weren't bad people as all the races of Asulon held certain attributes to their personalities. However the High Elves themselves seemed to favor a penchant for logic and conservative thinking that would rival that of the Ascended.

For now, so as long as his food supply remained intact, Safen would remain there to observe and understand the culture of the High Elves. Perhaps to understand them better and find out their deeper understandings of Magic. To see if it leads him to a deeper understanding of the mysterious power of Gaia.

Lucion scribbles in one of his many notebooks upon the weather patterns experienced in the past few weeks. Suddenly, he feels a chill run down his spine, as if being watched. He quickly turns around and observes his surroundings. Seeing nothing, he concludes that the chills are from a lack of sleep and the stale bread he had for breakfast. He returns to his notes, albeit warily.
