Mori Versus Mali'aheral

Small suggestion; Why don't the Mori just do a FULL attempt to wipe out the High Elf city? Then the High Elves would need to relocate, and it would solve a few problems. Just a small idea, and I swear, is someone flames me...

They would have to take the Elven Plainslands first. Menorcress has no territory adjacent to Haelun'or. And that wouldn't do anything but make the OOC animosity worse.

Like Mithradities said, its probably from over exposure.

Conflict RP is fun. But when its happening everyday, it does get old and unfun real quick. People do need time to develop their own stories and plots sometimes too. Of course like I said in my above post, its hard to regulate, especially if the raids aren't even coordinated.

A large amount of this war is actually IC. I have no problems with the High Elves OOC, and Enjoy their RP.

Nelecar and Valarus, for example, My character loathes them, But There great role players, and I know that they probably have nothing against me OOCly either.

This is quite a Biased argument, you seem to thing that you are staying there, doing nothing wrong, and we come up and derp around.

If you find a truly bad Mori Roleplayer, they probably will be kicked out if you report them. Most don't blatantly walk in the sunlight anymore.

EDIT: Hopefully nobody will go all out flaming on this topic, I can see it happening.

Valarus here, and I just want to say that, as a past Mori, I have no hatred towards either side. I can see how others might though, but I think we should all remember that, in the end, this is video game and you shouldn't hate someone else b/c of something like this!

Why would anyone flame you? It's a perfectly reasonable idea, if a bit mean. But combat and destruction doesn't necessarily equal fun. We need to find a way to RP our races hatred for each other in a more effective and fun way without ending in OOC fighting.

^Pretty much what I wanted to do :/

I was not calling for really anyone to do all of this. I wanted the High elves and mori to stop all this. You are kinding of being hipocritical. With your clever little insult about Brett and about our GM APPROVED lore. Our little pools do not really effect you at all, but the pumpkins effect everyone... just as an example.

1. The pumpkins or a veil is a massively overblown issue stemming from people assuming it was made up on the spot - which is untrue - people should stop repeating it, especially people that should know better.

2. The pools were not 'accepted' by GM's - they were changed by GM's since they could lead to disputes, power-gaming and generally the idea of a magical object that changes your race is a bad idea for a variety of reasons.

2a. If Brett told you it was a good idea, he's a derp :P

3. With the amount of personal attacks, accusations and paranoia me and dusky have been dealing with over various issues, from various players, I'd sooner punch myself in the groin than welcome any sort of RP war with high elves. Maybe this was the plan, if so, congratulations.

4. The Mori don't care about the high elves - nor are they conspiring against them - it's just players looking for something to do. If the high elves want to be wiped out they should talk with the orcs, not the Mori, who are peace loving cave dwelling elves, who just want people to respect their lands and customs. ^.^

The pools didn't need to be accepted by any GM(Nor have they been official implemented), they are no different then adding in pumpkins as sun protection.

It added a new element to the server. A magical object that changes a players race - There were stories of someone being forced to change race by being thrown in. That's adding something new, very different from relaxing a RP restriction players took upon themselves that other players are not expected to follow.

Conflating the two is like comparing apples to pumpkins

Both are fruit. Some 'food for thought'.

Why not just blow up/flood the High Elven Plain and give the High Elves their own island separate from the Elven peninsula? ^^

There would only be one way that could be fun and that would be if we were atleast allowed to get creative mode and quickly get some building done so we don't have to start all over cause really that would just make people leave and where's the fun in that?

Perhaps you have experienced the same misinformation that we did in regards to the veils, but I have seen our lore and there is no way someone could be thrown in and turned into a High Elf. This is nothing more then a rumor or a case of miscommunication. The actual change from say 'Wood Elf' to 'High Elf' would be long and slow and is more than just changing them physically but also mentally in terms of RP attitudes.

Mmm, probably I was told captured orcs were being 'experimented' on

This was purely an RP reason for the Orcs to go to war with us. The actual device in question which jokingly stated it was being used to experiment on the Orcs was a fire trap of sorts and in the war claim thread it said there were 'orc bones' in the traps which was a lie.

All that about our pools aren't really a problem the way I see it there is nothing in it that would give ekstre work for the GM I mean it would only work for elfs and on matter if they are wood elfs or just normal elfs they can all just do /setsubrace high elf and then it would work just fine

it would just be a way to RP that you turn into a sub race rather then just doing the command and pof! high elf. There would be the RP where you get accepted by the high elfs, the start when you earn trust within them, all the times you are taken to the pools to bath and drink from them and lots of other RP. I'm sorry but I just have a hard time find the bad thing about it.

Besides the reasons I've already listed it would necessarily steal away wood elven players, who are a bit light on lore themselves, it also changes the idea of sub-race from something of birth to something changeable/malleable since it does not require you to reroll a new character.

The high elves essentially would be changing themselves from a pure subrace, to a a group based on elitism - a clique/culture more than a sub-race based on familial origins. It's important that this sort of thing be discussed since it does set a precedence for the server's lore, by giving a select group of players the ability to swap anothers race at their discretion, changing the meaning of what it is to be a subrace, and specifically the meaning of what it is to be a high elf and a wood elf.

There is also the issue of the implementation - I think I've already explained the problems of trying to RP an inherently magical object - especially if it's to be an accessible environmental one [fountain] , or something that can be consumed [ water ]. Once something is objectified rather than requiring some rite - it either demands every other player accepts this new continuity - or likely raises arguments when it's 'power' is misused, used against someone, stolen, used deceitfully or merely just ignored.
