At the sound of Ellir clearing her throat. The man turned his head from the book and off from his right hand, looking left and up at the tall elfish girl, leaning his back against the support of the chair, giving her as much attention as a drowsy and sore man could give. As she speaks, he takes a gulp of rum from the the murky glass bottle. He responds in a grizzled deep voice, after giving a short and loose salute to his acquaintance who just greeted him across to the other side of the public.

"I apologies if I have become an eye sore and filled the place with me salty aroma for you and your people, if that is what you mean. I did stop briefly at Elandriel today after dropping off the mornings order to the druids, but their library was no help. Since your city was on the way back, I went ahead and checked if your collection of literature had answers for me. I entered here first and alone, other than the barkeep, with this book here and asked if I could borrow this roof to read under. His answer did not matter, for whatever he said I did not really hear and instead just nodded and took a seat. I will be gone and back on me boat just off your docks soon enough, if you care that much to be rid of me."

The human continues to look up at the elf after his words instead of turning right back to the pages, as if to give respect and let the elf speak her words.

A negative vibe fills the room as the dark presence of Ker'Athri curses any happiness to be had. He takes a seat at the bar, nodding slightly to the barkeep. "Get me drunk." Are the only words he mutters. While downing copious amounts of red wine, he stares around at the room wondering why it got so quiet all of a sudden. "Dammit... Sorry everyone, I'll leave." He chugs down the rest of the alcohol before walking out. "Man, I've got to stop being such a downer..."

-Debbie Downer-

The human stays waiting for the woman's response but suddenly looks as if he feels tense and threatend. Not by the elves who approached him in armor, but by the new entity in the room. His attention shifts to it along with everyone else. A pause in time and space to focus on this dark figure. It turns to the innfolk, speaks, leaves and the time starts up again. The man waits again for the rubutle.

((WARNING: LONG STORY, MIGHT TAKE SOME TIME TO READ))

Family history of the House Aeléyèlsa

The first queen of Inzaira was Inzai, she had arrived at the islands of Caerya with a small fleet, accompanied by a few Aénguls and a large group of Máli'Ahèral.

She and her love Vhanri, the leader of the High elves, founded Inzaira (wich was called different back them. She built the collerge, a palace and the library. Due to its great position for trade and the riches found in the seafloor, Inzaira soon prospered.

Seventeen years after Inzaira was founded, Inzai gave birth to Anièll, who was destined to become queen after her mother. She had the golden hair, fair skin and pointy ears of her father, but the white blood, black eyes and face of her mother. She grew up smart, curious and wise. Magic flowed through her blood like thoughts through her mind.

When she was seven, her mother gave birth to a son, a strong Máli'Ahèral with light blue eyes. Nohir grew up as a strategist and swordmaster, he loved his family and the city and wanted to be able to protect them at all time.

He and his sister were loved by the people and grew up as theirs. The royal children studied at the college, along with the other Máli'Ahèral.

In the 27th year of her life, Anièll left the college to learn more about the world than only from books. She took the job of diplomat and appeared as representative of her mother in the other citystated. After 5 years she returned to home and married Raegon, a Máli'Ahèral who had travelled with her.

A fortnight after the wedding, Inzai have birth to Laene. The girl looked like her brother and sister, but had silver hair and deep green eyes. As she grew up, she appeared to be an extraordinary mage, even more skilled in the arts of magic than her mother. Only magic bothered her and she studied ist secrets at every free moment she had and when she was 16 she was one of the most powerful mages of the known world.

Twentyfour years after the birth of Laene, Inzai decided to pass the crown on to Anièll. Inzai did remain as advisor, but wanted to be able to spend more time studying the secrets of the world.

Under Anièll's rule, multiple new traderoutes were established and the wealth of the city grew even faster. Because of this, Anièll had to expand the harbours and build extra storehouses. The markets were always busy, High elves, humans, dwarves, dark elves, all walked around freely.

This trade was the perfect opportunity for the college to collect more books. From all the surrounding citystates books were gathered and brought to the library. Added up to the enormous treassure of the High elves of Inzaira, it was too much for the library to hold. So the library was expanded, multiple new halls were digged out in the rock seafloor to house all the books that didnt fit in the mainhall.

The growing trade did not only good for Inzaira. As the treassure of the city grew, so did the amount of pirates that raided its tradeships. When they eventually even dared to attack Inzaira itself, Anièll realised she had to act.

She ordered her brother, Nohir, who now was married, to build a fleed ot warships and hunt down the pirates. IN the meantime her husband made sure that a wall was constructed around the city, while her sister made sure that mages were recruited to support the fleet.

Not much later, Nohir led a magnificent fleet into battle agains the pirates. He crushed them and conquered their main Hide-out, an island full of tree and with fertile grounds. The pirate's keep was taken down and he ordered to constuct farms and a new harbour. From then on, this island was the main source of food and wood for Inzaira.

When he returned to Inzaira, he had a niece, the daughter of Anièll. She was called Elsea and had the same black eyes, golden hair and fair skin as her mother, her blood was the same too. Several weeks later she had a nephew, Rhohir, the son of Nohir.

At the age of 9, His grandfather was assassinated before Rhohir's eyes. The city was filled with grief and sorrow, during an entire week the lights were dimmed and the gates kept shut. The royal family ordered to get the assassin caputured and bring him to their palace and soon the Máli'Kèr who had killed Vhanri was caught. It appeared that he was sent by the clanlearders of the Dark elves that lived on the mainland east from Inzaira.

The reaction of the Royal family was to declare war on the clans of the Máli'Kèr, who had united to one big force. So Nohir led the fleet into battle once again, east this time. First he took the coastial cities and then he prepared to march land-inwards. He hired mercenaries and recruited High elven cavalry and when he was ready he marched towards the great swamp, where at the side of a large lake, lay the capital of the Máli'kèr. The Dark elves had prepared an army themselves too, its numbers were equal to those of the Inziarian Máli'Ahèral and they marched out to catch them before they could reach the city.

When the armies met eachother it was in the burning sun, it the midst of the swamp. The army of the Máli'Ahèral had formed long lines of spears under the command of Nohir, the flanks where covered by two small lakes and the cavalry was situated behind the lines to reinforce the Infantry where needed.

On half a mile distance from the Máli'Ahèral, the Máli'Kèr had formed their army. They were heavily armed, dressed in black platemail and carrying two handed axes. Their lines where without order formed around their clanleader. Each clan had its own banners, one black, one yellow, one red and so on...

When the battle started, the Máli'Kèr went into one massive charge. They stormed over the soft ground and ran into the pike formations, swinging around their waraxes. The battle was huge, both sides lost massive numbers and when eventually Nohir managed to lead his cavalry into the heart of the Dark elven army and killed their king, the battle was finally over.

Inzaira took over all Máli'Kèr lands, but it was a Pyrrhic victory. The loses were enormous, wich was a big problem for the Máli'Ahèral who were with so less people already. Because of this, the royal family gave the secret of Orichalcum to the army. This magical white metal was stronger than steel and lighter than aluminium, it gave the Máli'Ahèral a huge advantage in war.

Back in Inzaira, Inzai had her third grandchild, the daughter of Nohir, she was called after her aunt, Laene, because she looked so much like her.

Inzain knew she wasnt needed anymore and felt that it was time for her to leave. Before of the citizens of Inzaira she spoke:"naean'leh evare karinto, Malii", "I will protect you, my children" And suddenly she shone like the stars, she sent out a flash and disappeared. At the place where she just stood, a giant tree had appeared, the tree is never chopped down and was treated with the same respect as Inzai had recieved. It was then, when the city recieved its new name "Inzai'Mira" "warm Inzai" because of the warmth the tree gave all time of the year.

Now her mother was gone, Laene spent all of her time in the library, obsessed with magic. Eventually she left the Library and started teaching the younger generations of Máli'Ahèral the secrets of magic. She told them what it was and how to use it, she helped them on their way to wisdom, but never did she do anything that didnt have to do with magic. She set up a group of researchers that examined places of magic and found new ways of magic, their headquarters was a big "temple" in Inzaira.

Little Elsea grew up to a beautiful young lady who was a moderate mage, due to her aunt, and a skilled politician, due to her mother. She understood how the people thought and could calculate their reactions, she learned how to keep their reactions under controll and made sure that people loved her. This way she created a phycological shield around her and protected her and her family agains further attacks.

She regularly travelled to the dark elven lands to see how their mood was, it was important to keep the rest in the queendom because the army wasnt all that big. The son of the govenor became a good friend of hers and travelled with her most of the time. They loved eachother and with their parents' blessing they married in Inzaira, under the tree of Inzai.

Because of her importance in the colonies, Elsea was seen as a second queen, she ruled for her mother in the colonies and when she was in Inzaira she sat beside her, with almost the same status. Even thought, or maybe because she had this power, she realised that the people had become far too dependent on their queen. They had to think for themselves again.

When she became queen, she started to make new laws that would prepare the people to rule themselves. The leaders of the six maior families of Inzaira got a seat in the throneroom and they would be her advisors. She brought over more and more power to them, until they eventually were equal in power.

Nine years after her daughter was born, she disbanded the crown. For 736 years, queens had ruled Inzaira. Now, the seven maior families shared the power. The house Tanirèl, the house Nimséii, the house Talméliè, the house Faenliè, the house Havizae, the house Phalangitè and the house Aeléyèlsa, wich was the royal family.

The house Aeléyèlsa was always the most respected of the noble houses and most of the time their representative was elected as "Okárir'Ahèral", "blessed leader", who led the council. Rhohir became leader of the army after his father, his sister Laene, followed her aunt in the secrets of magic. His son Vulus became armyleader after him and his grandson after him.

Elsea's daughter, Theiya, married Xandir, her love. She took place in the coucil after her mother and her own daughter Cheiyl, followed.

2467 years after Inzaira was founded, the city had controll over a area that covered millions of square miles. You could find almost any place in the empire, from vast oceans to snowcapped mountains, from desterted plains to deep jungles.

But then new force in the west started to rise, big men with green skins and musceles like steel beams. Their shamans called the dead and their culture was based on battle. From their tents in the desert they moved into the empire, quickly conquering multiple cities.

Otheon, the grandson of Vulus, was sent to these people with an strong army. Máli'Kèr axemen, Máli'ame archers, human swordsmen and an elite infantry of Máli'Ahèral Phalangists. The army was led into battle by the Inzairian cavalry, dressed in Orichalcum platemail, carrying the banners of the seven families.

The barbarian tribes of these green people, called uruk, acted under the command of their "Rex", wich seemed to be some sort of warlord. They kept conquering cities and had already captured half of the cities in the wester colonies by the time that Otheon and his army reached the land.

Otheon fought against the split up forces of the uruk and did beat them easily, but then their Rex called them. They formed one massive army and marched to the east, to meet Otheon in battle.

In the city of Nagnea, Otheon was waiting for reinforcements that would come from oversea. It was there where the uruk attacked him and his army. They came from the forest and entered the plains that lay before the city, there Otheon had gathered his army.

He had placed archers on the walls, but his main force was deployed at the base of the walls. The centre of his army was formed from the phalangists and the flanks were covered by the Máli'kèr with their waraxes. Just behind the phalanx lines, the humans were deployed, each of them had a longsword, a javelin and a big round shield. They were dressed in chainmail and formed the light infantry of the army. At the far right of the army, Otheon and his cavalry were ready to hit the uruk in the flank as hard as they could.

The hordes of uruk charged without discipline into the pikes of the Inziarians. They killed many men, but they lost big numbers themselves too, when Otheon guided his cavalry around the flank of the army and charged into the back of the uruk. This isolated them from the rest of the clans and one by one, they were killed. Otheon used the same tactic to destroy both, the remaining flanks of the uruk army.

When the battle was finished, Otheon marched his army further west, to retake the cities from the remnants of the uruk armies. When he reached the first city, he found it abondonned by the living. The uruk had conquered the city and cleaned it from every living high elf, piles of dead lay in the streets and the white walls were covered with pure blood. Disgust and grief filled the hearts of the Inzairians as they marched through the gates. Desiring to avenge their brothers and sisters, they marched further west. In every city they passed, they found the same situtation.

Otheon entered the desert, mad at the uruk. He marched towards the oasis where the tribes had their camps. When he reached the oasis he raided the camps, he burned their tents and killed their citizens, just as the uruk had done to the Máli'Ahèral. The remaining tribes fled to the north-west, but the shamans stayed in the land. They swore to avenge their dead family, they swore they would not rest until Inzaira got what it deserved. After they had swore their oath, they disappeared from the world for three centuries.

When they appeared again, they had gained much more power. They rose in the ruins of an old city, under the name "Avengers of the dead" but the Inzairian Máli'Ahèral called them "Ullral". Again, Inzaira sent an army to destroy this threat, this time under the command of Vandri, the son of Otheon. He, his wife Atheia, who was a descendant of Anièll, and their daughter Aurea reached the ruins a week after the rise. He found the ruins deserted, there was no sign of life in the radius of five mile, which worried him. He ordered to set up a camp on two mile distance from the ruins and his army prepared to attack the next day.

In the middle of the night, they heard warhorns. Inzairians never used warhorns, but the uruk did. Vandri ordered his soldiers to be ready as quick as possible and only a few minutes later the Máli'Ahèral stood in battle-formation, ready to fight whatever army would come.

But what came, no one had expected, the shamans had transformed. Their skin had already been ugly when they were alive, but now they were dead it was almost impossible to look at. The skin hang from their bones like banners from a wall, the green skin had turned grey and maggots moved over their body. They were dressed in black cloaks with hoods hanging over their faces. It was a small army of maximum 500 mages, but when they raised their rotten hands, suddenly they were with a lot more.

From everywhere in the ruins, undead creatures rose, their armor was covered with ten centuries of rust and their bone fingers were carrying nothing more than a remnant of a weapon. Though, they were with a lot more, the Inzairian army was about 40 000 men, while the undead were with at least 200 000. A mass of 200 000 dead bodies that want nothing more than to kill you, that was what the high elves had to fight.

The first move had come from the necromantic shamans, now it was the turn to Vandri. He let his pikemen for phalanx and defended the flanks with his cavalry, while he fought along side of his pikemen, leading the Eagle Guards. His army formed one massive wall of pikes and swords, with a mass of archers behind the lines. They started to rain down fire-arrows on the moving dead mass, wich slowly came out of their crumbled shelters.

When the undead monsters were on a mile distance from the Máli'Ahèral army, they sensed life. In one massive charge they slammed into the pikes, their armor was pierced, their bones crumbled, but that didnt stop them. As their brothers slammed in on them from behind, they shove themselves further up the pikes to reach the pikebearers. When they reached the high elves, they tried to tear them appart. Most of the time they were crumbled by a hit of the shield or a well-placed stab of another spear, but when they did reach the soldier, they pulled open his visor and pulled the flesh from his face wiht their bone fingers.

Screams of pain swallowed the air above the battlefield as the monsters broke throung the left flank. The cavalry wasnt much of a help, since the horses panicked at the smell of the unknown dead magic. Vandri and his Eagle Guard tore through the dead mass, but around him the battle looked much worse. One fifth of the Inzairian army had been killed while the undead had more than 170 000 men remaining.

By that time, the mages were ready. Under the lead of Atheia, they started to rain destruction onto the undead. They burned hundreds of dead creatures, healed people who needed it and formed shields where the undead broke through.

This rewrote the rules of battle and soon holes started to appear in the hordes of undead. Vandri saw this and started to fight harder, when his companions realised that the battle wasnt lost after all, they followed his example. Soon every Inzairian soldier saw light in the future and slowly they started to push back the monsters.

When before Vandri a hole in the lines of undead, he lead the Eagle Guard through it. He fought his way towards the centre of the ruins and attacked the Shamans themselves. When his Orichalcum blade destroyed the first Shaman, the others lost their focus. In one massive flash, they were gone, along with their horrible minions. They had killed a lot of Máli'Ahèral and even more died from poisonous wounds or sickening magic. Both Vandri and Atheia died due to the battle, leaving Aurea alone, the last descendant of Anièll.

Now she had seen what the world contained, she studied hard to become an as powerfull mage as possible. She plowed through the library, reading as much as she could and practising when she had the time. She joined the college of magic that the first Laene had founded, to learn more "tayna'maehr" than she could learn from books and practice. Soon she was one of the more skilled mages of the city, a master of air magic and sience. She would need her skill in the following events.

One night, 20 years after the battle, a black ship appeared in the waters in front of Inzaira. It moved through the water silent as a hunter. Only when warhorns sounded from the ship, the Inzairian guards realised it was an enemy ship. They called alarm and while the ships were made ready as quickly as possible, the warhorn sounded again. A fleet of shipwrecks rose from the seafloor, just like the dead soldiers had risen from their graves in the ruins. They sent a rain of flaming arrows into the city, setting several houses on fire and creating a tremendous chaos.

When the ships were ready, they went right for the undead fleet. They shot a new sort of magical arrow into the ships, wich were cut off from their masters magic, and sank once again. This way the Inziarian fleet easily cut throught the undead fleet, but they were never able to reach the black ship. Everytime they sank a ship, another was raised from water.

In the mean time, a enormous fire was raging in the harbours and inside the city, houses were burning and crumbling. This situation became even worse when in the side of the black ship, holes opened and thick lead pipes came out. With the sound of thunder, an enormous cloud of smoke flowed over the water and the citywall was torn apart.

The second shot was aimed at the mighty ship-gates, wich were reduced to a useless pile of sticks. The sunken fleet moved towards the entrance that the shot had created, they entered the grand canal and sailed towards the residential district. When they were as close to the Houses as they could get, they came ashore on the stone bridges that formed the roads. Undead sailors marched through the steets, killing every living thing they could find.

Now the black ship was undefended, the Inzairian fleet went for the weak spot. They fired as many arrows at the ship as they could, while they sailed with full speed towards it, drilling their metal prow into its hull. This attack appeared to be an action of suicide. When they drilled their prows in its hull, an massive amount of evil magic flowed out, destroying the ships. The magic created itself a body, a knight, cloaked in a cloud of black shadow. It rose from the black ship, wich was sinking now, and became bigger and bigger. The thing reached full size when it was 20 feet tall, then it marched into the city, killing every single life form in a 20 feet radius.

When the Shadow Knight was only a few yards away from the central island, something happened to the tree, it changed. The tree of Inzai transformed, it took the shape of a woman. She had wooden arms and legs and hair of leaves. she wore a dress of leaves and flowers and was surrounded by a magical aura. She walked over the island, towards the Shadow Knight, leaving white trails of energy.

When she came close, the Knight turned to her. His roar split the air and he charged towards her, pulling a 18 feet long greatsword from his back. The tree woman spread her arms and a shield of light appeard in front of her. The Knight slammed into the wall with an enormous shock and started to shoot magical shadow spheres into the shield. She reflected them and summoned a spear and shield, she dropped the defences and battled the Shadow Knight face to face.

While this was going on, the monsters were making their way through the city. Though, when they came close to the College of magic, they started to slow down. The mages of Inzaira had gathered and were destroying every dead sailor that they could see. The sailors were crumbling and they were not able to push further, so now the mages started to push them back towards the destroyed ships.

In the mean time, the Shadow Knight was failing to hold position. He spinned and dodged backwards to evade the stabs of the Tree-Ladie's spear, while everytime he attacked her she cought his sword with her shield. Bit by bit, she was pushing him back. Then she hit him, the spear went rith trough the shadow magic and absorbed it. When she hit him again, he broke down, so she took her chance and pierced him where is heart should have been.

The Black Knight turned into a massive tornado of black smoke. It sucked up everything in its range, which unfortunately was really big. In a few seconds every single building inside the inner wall was destroyed. Then the tornado exploded and turned the city into smoking ruins, killing almost everyone inside. Who wasnt killed was warped through space and put down at another place in the world.

One of these people was Aurea, now the last known descendant of Inzai. She found herself at the edge of an strange land, with an unknown language and culture, called "Aegis". She entered the lands in hope to find a new home for herself and her bloodline.

Robert watches as the freaky guy leaves the tavern, then walks in. Seeing all the people he is immediately in a good mood ((He's an extrovert)). He creeps up over to Yuln's table and looks at the stack of paper before realizing his attention span is way too short to finish this. He calls for a few rounds of hard ale, and takes a seat by Yuln. Maybe he'll be able to finish the story when he's drunk, even though that makes no logical sense. Meh, he still wants to drink anyways. He just can't get enough of the glorious nectar that is ale, since Kat introduced him to it.

He turns to Dash's nervous expression and stares at him with a puzzled look. Scooting up to a seat beside him, he nudges the man's shoulder.

"What seems to be the problem, sir?"

*Again, before the woman has a chance to speak, a new character enters with the appearance of one who is shy and introverted, but soon, his true colors emerge, that he is a man who loves to jump into others affairs. The man with ale in hand, retrieved from god knows where since it was clear that this establishment only sells wine, stumbles over and interupts Ellir, taking one of the pushed in chairs for his own, plopping down between the human and the first elves to approach.

The humans focus is stolen away and responds appropriately,

"You must be mistaking my tired and worn look for someone with issues, for I have non, good elf. I am here to enjoy my island brewed rum, read up on the knowledge gathered at these lands, and move sea bound."

On the subject, near the end of the mans last line, he appears to be looking over the intruder at the large stack of papers on the females table over yonder the intruder just came from.

"If your point is made miss," Directed at Ellir, "then I would like to move there," pointing with the left hand that holds the rum away an towards Yuln and more specifically, the literature at her table, "and bid you all farewell."

The human begins to rise, closing his book, making a slow and sleepy attempt to leave to his intended destination.

With that, the human abandons the three with a polite nod of his head and a loose salute and steadily walks over to Yuln. As he moves across the pub, he lifts his murky and simple bottle of HOME BREWED islander rum, and gulps down a good portion of it. Before he sits he stays standing to give her the option of allowing his company. The human asks in the most gentle of ways, "Kind mistress, might I ask if you will share your knowledge with me? A simple traveling, map making fisherman? I don't bite, you have my word as a sailor."

The son of Horen thanks the accepting elf in the form of an exaggerated noblemen's bow. He bends over, one foot in front of the other, arms out like a bird flexing its wingspan, but in a modest and humble fashion with his hands bent upwardly and a warm smile upon the humans face as his eyes never leaves hers.

At that moment, another dissatisfied elf had entered the public place, and began muttering the poorest of words for such high blood to use. High elves can be high and mighty sure, but when their word choices are that of an uneducated peasant who only knows the slang, tis truly, a disappointment.

The human seems to take little notice to the next scared aggressor who can't seem to speak their own minds with Assertiveness perhaps in fear of the humans bigger build than their own?

Instead, The Human gladly sits, placing his Rum at his feet against the center table leg. Again he thanks the elvish girl with a wink and takes up the first parchment...

Ellir finds herself dumbfounded for just a moment, wondering why the human so promptly ignored her to talk to Yuln. Though she eventually spots the papers at the young Elf's table, it is not before she noticed the human is making no intentions of leaving.

She taps her foot impatiently, on the brink of opening her mouth once more and phrasing her intention a bit more directly, when a sudden new voice makes her fall silent. She does not cringe upon the insult hurled through the usually quiet tavern; she is used to far worse from those who are not burdened with the need to censor themselves for the sake of politics.

She moves over to Yuln's table and asks if she is to see the packet of documents she has just finished writing, keeping a careful eye on the impeding showdown between the radical and the intruder
