[Important] Magical Posters Of Evil

A stocky Dwarf waddles up to a podium with a sheath of papers, which he spills slowly onto the stage as he talks. He coughs roughly, then addresses the assembled crowd.

G-G-reetings and Salutations, Asulonians!

We've been r-receiving shocking reports across the lands of posters on n-n-otice-boards!!

But these ain't just any posters ye see. Oh no. Apparently (here, he whispers still loud enough for all to hear), thanks to some rather shady Dwarven sources, we've found out t'at t'ese posters are... well, m-magical in nature!

Apparently, anyone in the land, wherever they may be, in w-war or peace, ground or treetop, can see these... from any location.

It's downright sorcery! (he tosses his papers high into the air, and grabs some as they flutter back down)

Grandma does - wait thats not the right one - Ahem. Normally, a bit of light-hearted magic doesn't bother me, but t'is... is absolutely villainous!

It's possessing the minds and vision of many a unwary traveller, causing t'em tae be disorientated, and in some cases, fall off of cliffs (and stuff.).

I don't know about you, but I think this is barbaric! I vote that we tear down any of t'ese magical poster-ma-bobs and burn them in fire! Lots of it!

The Dwarf coughs rapidly, and hobbles off the stage, waving to the audience with a weak hand.

[[Non-RP sales posters, and those that we deem do not contain sufficient information to find seller and make the trade will be removed by angry mobs. Thank you!~]]

*Stands amongst the crowd, a breeze rustling his beard as he strains to understand the strangely spoken dwarf, his face contorting as his futile attempts to understand fail.

Wolfgank looks at the Dwarf in awe, gripping tightly around his diamond axe "Gravy'ka" smithed from purifying fire, containing the symbols of The Wihuns. As he turns around and starts walking away, his hands are closed tightly around his axes, shaking partly in anger. "Magic... Fools.. These "posters" will get teared down immediately..." Wolfgank mutters, his voice filled with hate as he starts writing it down, soon sending birds to his Allies...

Josef snarls at the mention of magic. Tools of finger wagglers and Undead! No, we can't have that!

((You have NO IDEA how happy this makes me. I was literally about to post a long and angry rant about metagaming and lack of RP in Trade Forum.))

(( ..I'm just laughing horribly at this, I'm sorry. ))

Shuness watches the dwarf give his.. "speech", before sighing.

Honestly, this must be the work of a drunken man. "Magical signs." Pfft. Why would a mage waste his strength on such a thing?

And, even if such a thing does exist, why are we afraid of it? Does this not make things even easier for tradesmen?

I sense rouge mages afoot, the Mages Guild will have to dispatch a team to deal with these villainous, vigilantes of magic.

* Looks at the man on the podium with a thoughtful reflection

" How in the Nether can a sign be magical . . "

There is a problem with this initiative. By the time a GM or FM has caught sight of one of these meta-gaming incidents, the player has likely already made the deal or has dozens of merchants that have already made contact. I don't think simply removing the post after it has already done it's damage is enough.

I think the Trade thread should be removed, first of all, as players continue to prove that they cannot properly handle it. If it is not going to be removed, I would like to see a ruling that makes the vague posting of trades a warnable or strike-able offense for both the original poster and anyone that indulges in the trade. Players need to be held accountable, I'm sick of seeing all of these blatantly meta-gamed trades being conducted. It doesn't seem like it's being properly enforced.

Just to name a few:

- Magical posters.

- Parchments that multiply and magically blow in the wind to the feet of every living being in Asulon, or nail themselves to every post in every town.

- Messenger birds that can fly to and from a total stranger within seconds with no training.

- Posters advertised in a town that every character and their mother just happen to walk past, despite having no business being anywhere near that town prior.

- Criers that can be heard from all corners of the earth, either through telepathy or sheer volume.

Something needs to be done about all of this. We just need one FM or GM to hardcore police it and start throwing down warnings or strikes. We need dad to get his belt, so to speak. I can skim through all of the current trades and roughly every other one is vague and meta-gaming. I almost want to work towards getting into an FM position just so I crack down on this and this alone.
