Hello! This is Tempir and I am writing this note to ask mainly Renati why the government doesnt get paid. I have asked three nobles Griffin, Jullius, and Aaron. Aaron gets paid for each book, while the others and myself dont get paid at all. Are we supposed to get paid? As this is a job not a free load.

Nobles do not get paid by the government as they are not direct government employees. And in this case, Aaron would be paid because of his books, not because he is a noble.

I enjoy what I do, I love what I do. I am a government employee, based on what Renati said. I am just asking because I would love to buy some diamonds, or anything of the sort. I plan on getting married soon and I want to be able town buy her gifts.

The title of nobility is enough no? You would get full access to the nation's wares. Even I do not get paid.

Tempir, it is also not the job of the government to pay for your leisure. If you wish to give somebody a gift, pay it out of your own pocket or borrow money from somebody else.

Aaron gets paid because he is a scribe, not noble. Nobility doesn't get paid for two reasons.

A. Nobles are supposed to be rich. If your not, then find a way using the people as they may wish to buy food or supplies.

B. I don't have infinite moniez.

You devote your time to the kingdom simply for the good feeling you receive. This isn't a job. This is a responsibility.

(( Historically, Nobles and Lords weren't paid by their King. Their source of income was the taxes that they imposed on their fief. Going off these facts, you shouldn't even be a Lord if you're not the leader of a settlement. So in other words... Everyone needs to drop their titles with the exception of myself and Tiberius. ))

What do you do? What do nobles do that deserves to be paid? Have a position of power? I am not paid for being second in command of my military. Power does not directly entitle pay. Deeds do.
