Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: Caelria.

How old are you?: I am sixteen years of age.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Pacific standard time, USA.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I have a firm grip and somewhat exceptional grammatical skills.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a sixteen year old Caucasian male, I am what some would refer to as booky; meaning that I always have my nose in some sort of page or sheet and am trying to learn everything about everything there is. I love to roleplay and, after reading your guidlines and accepted applications for the third time, feel I have a good grip on what I should do. (I also enjoy long walks on the beach.)

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Several hours daily, at some point after 3:15 monday-friday and freely on the weekends which I have off from my daily activities.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is the act of fitting into a role, and changing your character and alignment to do so. Roleplaying at a lower level is to act like your character, at a medium level to think like your character, and a higher level to become your character. I commonly role those of magic orientation, however after having been denied because magic is not allowed in applications, will work to acheive Game master approved use of magic upon entrance to your world.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have had much roleplaying experience in my time, I have spent several years practicing to be an asset and to learn the correct skill set to play hardcore dungeons and dragons. I am currently juggling both a Pixie MUT (Magic user theif) and an Elven Wizard-Cleric who worships the god Olorin (The elven god of Magic, good, law, and fire.) I could spend hours explaining his spheres of influence, but frankly I dont feel it would appeal to you and would put more work on the application overseers, and so I will leave that out. However, through time of experience I have learned to be an intelligent, classy, regal character and can fit that role almost perfectly in any situation.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming is the act of taking outside knowledge and applying it to in-game situations in which your character would not know what you know. If I am a human fighter, and I know that Hill giants get a +14 str. -4 int. -4 wis. and -4 cha. and can smell humans and various other animals in real life; covering myself in mud to disguise my scent would be meta gaming, as in the true situation I would simply try and hide from him (which would likely result in failure) unless I had some prior knowledge of hill giant's anatomy and senses.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power Gaming (in online role play) is usually the act of saying your skill is successful without giving the other person opportunity to act on what you have done. For example; My human fighter has been discovered because he did not cover himself with mud and simply hid, the giant runs towards him. If at this point I were to declare that "I jam my sword through the giants head, killing him instantly." that would be power gaming, a more adequate response would be "I unsheathe my sword and shield, and raise my defenses whilst observing what the giant does next."

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it will have quite the player base with the rigorous application process you put us all through.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have been on several less known servers, Rotheria Roleplay and Pengucraft; for example.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have read the rules, understand the rules, and find your rules agreeable.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I agree to abide by the Lord of the Craft rules in game, on the forum, and in teamspeak.

How did you hear about us?: Through Clay King, Cole Roberts, and other members.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I have and will link them to you.

In-Character:

Character Name: Considering you likely speak only common, My name is Caelria. My mother felt she need'nt limit my aspirations or decide my future with a last name. Such is the tradition of Elves.

What Race are you?: -Caelria gestures to his pointed ears- I am Elven.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Sub-race? Oh, you mean what kind of elf I am.. I'm a high elf.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Biography? You're sure asking a lot of questions.. but I suppose I have the time. There really hasn't been anything interesting going on in my life recently.. I was born in what most other races call the "Silver City" a High Elven city located a bit away from everywhere else. My mother and father were nice people, and I was born to them when they were around 275 years old; My mother was 273 and my father was 281. My father served in the guard force of the city, keeping order and exacting justice. My mother stayed home most of the time, considering my father's wages were enough to support our rather small family. Every week mother and I would wander the town, and she would point out old landmarks and buildings to me -Caelria reminisces off for a moment but quickly gains his composure- she showed me much of the land around and how to navigate the streets.. did I already tell you that? Well, she had quite an affinity for animals; nearly as much of one as she did with the others in town. And at the age of 60, she had a dog shipped in from one of the human lands far away, she was a female pup, which we decided to name Telperien. I'm sure you can assume what happened, considering we high elves live very long natural lives, and dogs tend to only live 15-16 years. When Telperien died I cried for days, my mother told me that she had to let me know about these feelings, as when dealing with human and dwarf folk, they don't live as long as we do. My father was disgusted when he heard this and scolded mother on using a poor animal for such a sick lesson at such a young age.. They didn't speak for weeks.. -looks down sorrowfully but once again, regains his composure almost instantly-

My father was much more loving of a parent, he sought to teach me what I needed to survive the harsh world I was born into, and was constantly reminding me that there was "Life outside the silver city, and you can either tame it, or it will tame you." I learned farming from him first, he always told me I had quite the green thumb, and melons sprung up almost a week from when I planted them on our rooftop garden. Every day we would venture into the forest outside the city and he would point out places where he hunted and places that were good to hide. His next lesson was climbing, I was always terrible at it. He could climb a tree the size of our house as easily as walking, I however was never really the sort. I would commonly fall and get scrapes and bruises galore, but whenever I would fall he always told me that "Cuts and bruises aren't what keep a man down, it is what you do about them." he would then proceed to apply some sort of green pulp to them and they would heal almost instantly, I never really learned what was in that, he always said it was a family secret and I'd find out when I was older.

Basic archery was a breeze for me, I could hit any of the dummies he laid out for me as gracefully as any of his guard friends after about a month of practice. But hunting was an entirely different thing, whenever I hunted animals I had to look them in the eyes; and whenever I did all I saw was Telperien it not only took a toll on my body, but on your mind. Even in hunting practice the weapons are real, and there is always the chance you will be wounded. Father was a bit ashamed of me for the weeks to come, but he gave me the chance to redeem myself eventually.

From what I was told there was a group of cultists in the outskirts of town. Father invited me to come alongside his group of guards and militants in order to help him remove the threat. I was always uneasy about killing another elf, but he assured me it was no worse than killing an animal.. my mind drifted immediately to how I failed at hunting, by the time the cave was in sight, I was quivering and sweaty. The Elven chain he gave me was too large, and looked almost in ruin compared to his own. He glanced down on me and saw the worried expression on my face, but continued marching. It was almost as if he didn't care -rubs his hands together and wipes the sweat of his palms on a hanker chief in his pocket- Well, we were finally at the entrance to the cave when a blaze of fire rushed down, half the men put up their shields and I ducked behind one of the men I trained with. The fire blazed past, but I smelled charred flesh, and knew some of us had already fallen. I looked back almost terrified to my father, who was rubbing a burn from his cheek. He pushed the men and I out of the way and stared the open door down, it looked like a black abyss, but he showed no fear. A ball of ice shot out I screamed in terror as it rushed towards his face, but before it hit him is sword was drawn, and the ice was sliced clean in half around him. One half hit a guard's shield. The other half hit me square in the chest.

I watched aghast as father held fast against the oncoming onslaught, collecting lightning with the steel tip of his blade, deflecting fire with his shield, and every once in a while taking a step closer. The guards took the rear, and my friend reassured me that I would be fine. Blazes of fire rushed over our heads, and I could feel the cold wind of a blizzard, the sweat on my body became ice and fell from my skin, the chain became brittle and cold. My father seemed almost god-like, he raised his sword and ran into the cave. That was the last I ever saw of him..

That was the last full scale battle I've ever fought in. Now I'm really more peasantry than a warrior, the weight of a bow, and the tug of a string have since been long forgotten, replaced by the warm welcoming pages of literature. After seeing what transpired at that cave I never wanted to touch a weapon again.

Now, you may be asking yourself what happened to the cultists, well. Our guard militia marched in and killed them.. every last one. While I stooped over my father's shattered remains and greived.. I didn't leave the cave for days. The guards sometimes brought me food and offered council, but I never spoke or ate. I wandered the land for years.. I am now somewhere around 575 if I am keeping track correctly, most of the years cooped up in a library with nobody to comfort me but books. But I suppose books are safer... books never die. -at that moment Caelria glances around quickly and looks at the sun- Well, it is time for me to go. Seek me out if you ever want to hear a thing or two about whats going on in the written world today!

What is your Character's ambitions?: Oh? My ambitions? To issue peace throughout this turmoil distraught world.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): As I said, I was trained in a bow as a child of 213, most of it I forgot, I can still farm pretty well though, so a hoe, I suppose.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Farming and Archery, now if you'll excuse me, I really must get going!

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? A situation like this could likely be solved diplomatically. Caelria approaches the bandits with his hands raised to show he has no weapons. He alerts the bandits that neither he nor his halfling friend have anything they would want, except a bit of pocket change. He proceeds to reach into his pocket, pull out the change for both of them and pretend to get some from the halfling's pocket, he gives it to the bandits and says "If that is all, we'll be on our merry way then." and stroll off as if the halfling and he were friends. After clear of any trouble, he tells the halfling that these parts are dangerous, and if his destination is on the way to Alras, he may feel free to accompany Caelria on his way.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? I suppose it would be worth checking out.. "Good evening shop keep, what sort of items are you selling this fine evening?" at this point the shop keep would point out some of his products and depending on what they are and their cost, Caelria would decide whether to buy or simply take his leave.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Well, these could belong to someone... Caelria checks thoroughly for any sign of life, and if none are found then he takes the items and puts them in his cloak, if he finds signs of life, he leaves a note where he found them saying something along the lines of "Beg pardon, but your home is a bit insecure, you may find people wandering in here if you don't lock your doors."

and leave the house as he found it.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? At this point Caelria has a choice here; to either kill them with his giant tooth because he is hungry (lolreference) or to try to negotiate with the traders. Caelria would begin by asking the traders if they had any food for sale, if the awnser is yes, he would buy some. If no, he would beseech them "I have been traveling through these woods for days, and I'm starting to starve." if they do not take pity, he would plead that they point him in the direction of the nearest town if it was close. And quickly begin towards there in order to find food.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Caelria would never join a guard expedition after what happened, he passes up the opportunity and is obviously emotionally shaken.
