I am starting a new type of siege weapon. Not giving much information away, but in my head I am thinking of it to be a battering ram. Haven't figured out any formulas or such. Just letting you know.

good day velir, it is your great grandfather Longbeard. me friend Dakmur saw your ideas and your problems, and i maybe can help you. the wood burns? right? well i maybe have a solution, i will not tell you until my return. the reason is that i want secrecy, and if this bird is captured... i will return in hopefully a month and then we will talk. see you soon.

((i have an idea for a kind of wood what is stronger and doesnt burn, like seqoia trees. these trees are so thick that there is no oxigen in it and it will not burn. it is also stronger and Longbeard found some on his travels, well he was searching for it, it only needs to be accepted and then i have more plans with it. but this wood could be the perfect solution for siege weapons with fire! see you guys soon))

Then make the arm iron also? I don't know, but reinforcing the parts will greatly improve performance.

[There is a reason it failed, and I have spoken to both Gaius and Seventh. I know for sure Gaius said it was allowed. Seventh said...something or other. Sorry, I have a bad memory...Anyway, the tests failed, and I am planning on spending 4 IRL weeks (8 years IC) developing it, until it works properly.]

(( Also, last time I checked, either mangonels or onagers shoot a bunch of rocks, not just one. They were designed to send a bunch of small rocks flying at a wall or personel on a battlefield, not set stuff on fire. ))
