((lately I've noticed quite a few orcs growing bord. So the problem-solver/troubleshooting in me asked why? But I really don't care why so much as how can we make it fun again to be an orc.

So here is my suggestion/proposition:

If you have an orc title or are a "goth" of some sort of other shouldn't you be doing something to help with the orc RP?

Like Huntgoth - he's job is to hunt out food for the war ugz. So I would like to see this position have the actual job of leading orcish hunts for food on a regular basis. - maybe it's always a Gm event that happens a few times a month at times most of us are on. The Huntzgoth's IC role is to scout out new hunting grounds for us to hunt on and OOC they are to co-ordinate with a GM to make sure the event happens at the correct time at the correct spot with the correct mobs (maybe we have other types of hunts but this is one that should re-occure often enough the orcs have something to look forward to and it's not that much of a hassle for the huntzgoth to arrange.)

Targoth - you're head of the army - hello training drills anyone? You (each of you) get together and make this happen - training exercises, games etc. We are a nation of warriors let's play like it.

Wargoth - leader of your clan - what's happening with your clan? Is your lore all sown up? The wikki section for your lore completed. Any open positions that need to be filled? your clan fort complete? Your clan supplies all gathered? Have you made any plans for some RP fun regarding your clan and possibly others?

Rex - he's in charge of starting/finishing wars, leading the nation etc. OOC you can ask the other titled orcs what they are up to and oocly kick their butt if they are laxing - also if someone is inactive I think you as Rex has the right to expect the problem to be fix - either by holding that person accountable or arranging for a Klomp for the title if the ones under the inactive one hasn't already started doing this.

You get the idea - if each of the titled orcs arranged something for the orcs to do on a predicable basis (there are positions I've not mentioned but if you have a title let's use it to create some fun RP for the orcs.)

As Head farmer and cook - I've been able to allow others to use the farms to level their skills be it actual farming or a weapon skill on the livestock. I've also had others level up lumberjack on the trees in the valley. I'll admit to scratching my head to come up with other things I could do. I'm all ears if you have suggestions for me to organize.

My point here isn't to point fingers at anyone but to encourage us to use what we have to start getting our orcs interested in being orcs.

And I hate to say it but if you have a title and don't want to use it then let the orcs know so someone can klomp you for your title which would let the victor start doing stuff with it.

I just see too many orc leaving to play other chars or to go play other games entirely and I think this might help with that a bit.))

(( My solution: I'm starting a family with a friend of mine and a bunch of other friends from my old RP Server. Grung + Mate = Lot's of cubbies to raise. - I'm not sure when exactly this is supposed to happen though.))

((I apologize for posting, especially since I play an elf, but reading that thing about hunt events gave me an idea. What about occasionally having a really huge hunt? A GM /mobdisguising into a pig and RPing as though they're a giant boar? That would be cool.

And now, I leave awkwardly to do other nerdy things.))

I was wondering this myself, today, in fact. It seems that there's usually a decent amount of Orcs online, but it seems most of them are just jumping around and chatting OOCly. One Orc's reasoning for this was that there was nothing to do except talk to each other if they're not fighting, and that's no fun. Well, I agree with Jutra here 100%, it is the responsibility of senior RPers to help create roleplay. If you look at the Alrasian military, we run drills, duels, tactics training, mock criminal investigations, capture the flag, full-on skirmishes, hunts etc. Being a war-centric race doesn't mean you have to only show up for raids and klomps, there's plenty of roleplay in a combat organization outside of fighting.

By the way, I play an Orc on my alt.

yeah Jarkarll and Jutra have already had 4 cubs together and then there is Moskah. Thing is - after they grow up there isn' much for them to do - that is why I thought we should start expecting things from our titled orcs. Even if you don't have a title but can think up something to do - do it or ask the appropriate orc in chage for permission to do it.

Orcs are a really cool race we just need to keep our group active with things to do.

((Well finals are fast approaching so I know some of our veteran players are just held up. At least among the Kheshig we've been plotting a lot of plans and giving out roles, but most of these are put on hold/slowed down just because of the upcoming finals.))

I'm both. Huntzgoth is not a rank in the military, it's an ancestral title given to the person who shows legendary skill in hunting.

Also I try with the Drill and stuff ( Main reason why I became Targoth) since i used to do them a lot in Aegis. However no one has the patience to do it, not only that but orcs aren't very well known for having to go through drills since we're not an army based on discipline and instead we're berserkers who rush into battle swinging at people, of course though we do have skills to defend our selves. I do plan on having drills in which we teach recruits where to strike like some bullshit thing about where to strike, or something

Also, I try to set up more of the hunts but of course I can barely EVER get a GM to help, and the only GM that I know could do it willingly starts to do mod reqs the second I ask him. You know who you are. I've even had some elaborate ideas but i'm not sure if any GM would help with it since the only one usually has time doesn't want to help.

I remember we had many drills back then, with the drill fort we set up..

But I do not know why we have none done it anymore, I remember it was alot of fun.

Have you tried posting the idea in the Event Proposal section? (I've never used that sections so I don't know all the function of it).

No, but I'm planning on doing it. Of course if these hunts were to work people need to realise that they are very Rp sensitive

Then lets build another

((Im right in the same boat as you Jutra. The Kheshig Summit thread was specifically made so that we could try and get back some Kheshig RP that more or less fell off the map upon arrival to Asulon. I remember when Gragarn, Urara and myself all went up north on a Kheshig scouting mission and took notes about new cities being built, the status of Winterfell, forts under construction and whether they were abandoned or are still around and much more. Since Asulon though that sort of stuff just hasn't been happening.

Resurrecting old drill routines and such could really help a lot, especially now that we have an outpost near spawn again. Iron Armor battles with Iron weapons between organized teams could really help us out when we get to the real deal.))
