Minecraft Account Name:

Iclemicle

How old are you?:

16

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

United Kingdom

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yes

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I am a generally good natured person, preferring to work with others than go 'lone wolf' on things. I also maintain a policy that if you are nice to me, I will return the favour.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

Varies depending on my school work. Probably between 2-10 hours a week.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Role playing means taking on the manner of a character which you choose, and acting how they would act in response to certain situations.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I have done some minor role play on MMORPGs with my guild members.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Metagaming is considered cheating by many. Its' when you mix OOC Information with IC Information. It is essentially acting out of character. For example, if I have not met someone before, but see their username, I may greet them with said username, which would be meta-gaming

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

'levelling' your character to make them over powered/strong, and essentially unbeatable. In a roleplay environment this may also include actions such as saying “I cast a spell, and your head exploded” to get out of situations, or just instakilling other players.

Furthermore, in a less extreme sense, powergaming can also be the ignoring of external factors which would affect your character in a real situation, such as the heat of a desert, or a previous injury which they may have sustained.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Hopefully with players dedicated to making the most out of the experience which the server is attempting to provide.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

Chaotic Uniformity: I left because of the community's poor attitude towards "noob" players

FP Server: Closed down

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Yes

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

Yes

How did you hear about us?:

Google

In-Character:

Character Name:

Hamdir

What Race are you?:

Man

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Northman

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Hamdir always loved the forests, ever since he was just a young boy. He used to run through the cold northern forests with his toy bow, re-enacting the great battles of men, and playing hero. Despite his humble background in the snowy lands of the north, Hamdir’s family was close, and happy. What little food they could find was divided between them (however, Hamdir always seemed to end up with the largest portion.) His father taught him how to cut lumber, whilst his mother taught him how to sew, and properly prepare meat. However, Hamdir’s childhood was soon to be cut to an abrupt and bloody end. A horrible disease killed his once loving parents, and fear of facing the same fate drove the young boy into exile. The forests he had once loved became a place of fear, and despair, but despite these terrifying circumstances, Hamdir never surrendered to the creatures lurking in the shadow, for the blood of the Northmen was with him, and the Northmen do not die easy.

For what seemed like years, Hamdir roamed the dense forests, doing what he could to survive in this harsh, and barren environment. However, as every Northman knows, hard lands, breed even harder men, and Hamdir soon became a near giant, even among his powerful cousins. Stories began to emerge of a man who killed without fear, or sound. Destitute travellers would find fresh supplies resting by their beds when they awoke, or lost men would find the paths through the forest lit with mysterious fires. Stories would circulate of a man with hair as brown as the bark of the great trees of the forest, and eyes so blue, they could freeze a man who stared too long into them. However, despite all his acclaim, the life of solitude was hard on Hamdir, and he yearned for the company, and respect of others, for all that the forest had taught him, it took away his humanity. He found himself forgetting the faces of his mother and father, their dying screams all he remembered of them. He found himself abstaining from human contact, choosing to work in the shadows. But most of all, he found himself forgetting what made humans, human. The ability to speak.

The fall of Aegis served almost as a blessing for Hundir, as it gave him a new start. He could be who he wanted to be, however, no matter how far he ran, even to the new lands of Asulon, he could not escape the call of the wild. He would, just as he wished he had done in Aegis, protect the lands from those who would wish do destroy them, slaying monsters and bandits to keep this new world, this pure world from falling to the vices of the old.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

Protect the people of Asluon, especially his Human kin. If necessary, he will create a neuteral “ranger camp” of which to base his actions in preserving the beauty of the land, and helping those truly in need.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Sword

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Through his time in exile, Hamdir learnt many things; namely, how to survive in even the most bitter of environments, but more importantly, when to pick a fight, and when to forget honour and live to fight another day.

Other Information about your Character:

Despite his gruff demeanour, once you gain his trust, Hamdir is a firm friend and ally, often risking death over dishonour to his close friends.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

“Damned bandits!” Hamdir mutters, placing his hand firmly on the hilt of his sword, and drawing it with a flourish. The Bandits turn at the noise, however the first is dead before he can even place a hand on his sword. The second cowers in fear, begging for mercy. Hamdir thrusts his sword at arm’s length towards the grovelling man “Leave your gold and weapons with me” he grunts “then leave this road and never return.” The bandit gives a terrified whimper, unbuckles his sword and begins to rise. Hamdir pushes him to the ground once more “and if I see you again, it won’t just be your sword you’ll be losing. Now get out of my sight!”

Hamdir turns to the grateful Halfling, offering him the Bandit’s sword “This should keep you safe, when I’m not around” “th… thank you good sir” the Halfling stammers “and how much is your rew…” but Hamdir was gone, leaving all but a corpse, and one, very bewildered Halfling.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

"I have little need for your trinkets sir, however, if it is supplies you are selling, I would be willing to trade some in return for my services as a hunter, guard, or maybe…” *Hamdir gives a sly wink* “more… shall we say erroneous activities”

“well now” the Man says “there have been a couple of Bandits who have been eating into my profits as of late, stealing from my caravans and the like… it would be awfully helpful if they were to… shall we say, disappear?”

“Consider it done” Hamdir mutters, his voice dropping to a almost threatening tone “however, I shall expect my payment promptly, and in full, not a penny less… understand me?”

“Of course my good man, do you take me for some petty ruffian, boy? For I am…” The posh man blinks, for the gruff man had vanished without a trace.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Regard the hut with mistrust, you never know what may be lurking within its dark depths. Station yourself outside the hut for a few hours, if all appears well, set up camp there for a few nights, regaining lost provisions and resting for the long journey ahead. Hamdir does not take any of the equipment from the house, as they will only serve to slow him down, however, if he expects to be returning to a town any time soon, the gold sword will serve as a great bargaining tool for more effective, and hardy items.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Keeping his distance Hamdir regards the camp wearily. “Whom do you serve?” he shouts, notching an arrow in his bow

“Why, my good man, we serve ourselves” the traders reply “ aint no better master if you ask me! And what about you stranger?”

“My name is of no concern to you, what matters is what we can offer eachother. I offer game, and protection in return for board, and a place to recouperate my supplies, what say you?”

“And ‘ow do I know I can trust you?” the trader replies

“I could ask the same thing”

The trader laughs, “I s’pose you ‘ave a point there lad, welcome aboard!”

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Hamdir does not directly commune with the guardsmen, instead choosing to move ahead of the party. He takes out each bandit methodically, and silently, for he knows full well that their numbers could easily overwhelm him. By the time the guardsmen arrive at the camp, they find it filled with corpses, and a note which reads:

“These men shall trouble you no more, however the loot they stole is my reward”

and signed with nothing but an “H”
