System In Progress (Ooc)

Recommended Posts

We have begun on working on a system that will allow the dwarves to function in a better manner,

(Also if I don't use this system it is most likely we will be dealing with more Anarchists at a later date in time, mainly clan leaders...)

and thus a hopefuly compromise has been formed, to keep the populance informed I will be writting this forum post regarding the future changes that will commense.

First:

We will be creating a system which will function in a manner of the king's fellows paying him a certain amount and then the king paying them back to furthur fund them, this is Skath's system that he has recently been working on:

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1o0BT5t2dSDysmLJl6FFDNxjLX8s1k8UVdBRYxoSMmfo/present?ueb=true#slide=id.p

The status of this system is poor as the clans do not agree with having to pay the kingdom a certain amount weekly and recieving funds back...

Instead I am currently planning that the clans will have to pay a "certain" amount and then the kingdom will allow them to continue owning the land and they will gain a small allowance to fund themselves, we do not wish for dwarvish segregation.

Second:

This system is being editted to accompany clans (Clans replacing guilds and guild leaders), we will now have 4 forced noble clans and because of this every dwarf must join a clan or they will join the Irehearts at the main nation capitol aka "hold" here is the list of the clans:

Irehearts - West

Blackaxes - North

Ironfists - South

Dawnsworn - East

What do the positions stand for? Land... The clans wished to obtain land for themselves and thus I granted each one with a portion of the dwarvern kingdom, and yes this is much like the Renati system from what I believe.

To note the "Un-Claimed" land will be converted to Ireheart land.

Ireheart land should just be called "King's land" and all commoner clans or clanless dwarves would be under the kings banner.

Also, our system is more like Skyrim with holds and Jarls while the renatus system is more like game of thrones.

I think the king should just put up a list of things done and clans pick the jobs up and try to accomplish them. Like the king may say "we need a stack of obsidian stack of diamond stack of gold* and the jarls of the hold will tell their people + clan-kin to work and fill the kings demand.

Other then that looking good.

Why not assign a certain clan to do a certain job? I know in warband each village has a certain selection of resources it gathers, after that it is sent to it's village where it is turned into a finished product.

I would like to see the following:

Dawnsworn: Farming, Lumberjacking, and trade

Ironfists: Obsidian production, mining, smithing and trade

Blackaxes: Lumberjacking, mining? And trade

Ireheart: Politics and diplomacy, military orginization, entertainment, and management.

As I do not like the idea of letting the clans go "jobless" at times when the king does not require anything... I would rather expect what I will recieve than be hopeful to recieve something of the sort.

Holds will end up producing everything, whether we like it or not...Plus some trades are more profitable than others, like mining gets you diamonds while logging gets you...apples and logs.

I would just have a list of things needed to be done. We already need a ton of stuff done (Get each hold up and running, get Mt Ire running, get supplies, get diamond armor, etc)

And as I said, keep it just King's territory, not irehearts...irehearts have like 1-2 clan members, it makes more sense that the king rules over some territory, the most defended and best land as its "capital" and oversees everything from there.

Why not make it law we can only do our jobs like, ironfist only do ours and have no lumber or farms so we would trade for it from other clans.

People cheat and plus mining is unbalance compared to food and lumberjacking (ores worth a ton more than food or lumber)

I say each "Hold" get tasks to perform, like Kjell may assign each hold to do a military, political, economical and cultural thing per week, so we have things to do and things to RP. Or Kjell just makes a BIG list and we work from there.

Well yeah. You would pay a lot for ores while the miners would eat a lot while mining all I know is my hold wont do everything..

a part of the land you gace to the blackaxes are my land, and the braveaxes get, well, nothing. Khaz'Verngaz is a lumber farm, but when people want to help i want to make it into a industrial work place and maybe a harbor. i also want to give out some farms for people to work there. and i know most of the braveaxes arent doing anything, but i want to help. also Longbeard lives under his banner, not anyone elses. i know thios is a wip but i want just wanted to say it

I have one thing about Skath's system, it requires t many Dwarves. From what I have seen it would have around 50 Dwarves to run well. I don't think we have that many Dwarves.

I was told blackaxes and braveaxes are merging too.

Have clans switched out for guilds is a crazy idea, and not just becuase it would oust me from my position. I'm a Dawnsworn but I don't farm I mine and there is no way in hell my character would ever in a million years farm or join the Ironfists. I think having the clans have land is good idea, but they should choose what they want to produce appart from the guilds, but replacing the guilds and forcing people into a different clan will hurt their rp. I might be miss-reading the idea or I could be the only one that is affected in this way, but I don't like the current state of this idea.

Usually your clan would focus in the ways of the clan. Dawnsworn are farmers but a few may be miner. Doesn't mean I wouldn't let then come mine.
