Cybering : Why Is It No-Tolerance?

-No Rape. This is final. It's not something we want to see RP'd. Even with consent of both parties and the use of Fade to Black, rape will not be permitted and will be dealt with harshly.

I don't understand this in the slightest. It makes absolutely no sense as to why this couldn't happen. It happened in this time period and if both parties agree to it, why not?

EDIT: I don't want Neko's super angry answer that she gave Anri. If both parties agree, then they are obviously both fine with it. Someone can still disagree with rape OOCly if they don't want it.

I'll say it again the rape isn't RP'd. It's an OOC agreement between two parties "Hey, let's just conclude that your character got raped." without any RP whatsoever. There is no RP sex and no fade to black. Just RP normally and say it happened. I'm saying this to make sure you guys understand the question.

I am going to be quite blunt here.

"Rape, in all forms" - this is what is stated on the server rules and guidelines.

Now anyone with half a brain should be able to comprehend this. But for those who are still unsure let me say this definitively, here and now. Regardless whether you are rping as a character who "was" (as part of their backstory and/or character) raped, or one whom you decided to have an ooc agreement with pertaining to a rape situation in rp, it still falls under the above rule. When this rule was written, it was thought that common sense would prevail and it would be easily understood that it means anything to do with rape was prohibited. If you want to rp your character having been raped, then I am sorry but this is not the server for you. Whilst this may not seem as bad a situation as cybering I can assure you the punishment for this will be just as harsh.

Also just to point out if the "rape" is only mentioned in an ooc agreement, then using it in character is metagaming.

Now, to prevent this thread being continuously bumped I am locking it. In this thread you know why cybering is 0 tolerance and you have now just been given a clear answer on any and all uses of rape. I don't think anymore talking will be necessary and thus it is locked.

I've pondered this for quite some time and I believe I've determined an accurate answer.

Cybering is not allowed (rape for that matter) for a variety of reasons. As already mentioned previously, this community caters mainly to minors (below the age of 18). Lord of the Craft can be also sued for having said content (Cybering) permitted in this environment. There also may be victims of rape or other harsh situations that would feel extensive discomfort in this role-play situation. Another question would be why no OOC consent? Well.. it's for the same previous reason. What if a victim of rape were to be involved or near the said role-play? It brings extreme discomfort. Case in point, any form of cybering (pornography, inappropriate content, or form of sex) is not permitted. "Fading to Black" should be used for the said role-play situation and it is suggested you don't role-play any removal of clothes or anything of the nature. There are laws present in the United States that state that pornography is illegal to a select age-group (You may validate this law..). This is not an adult-only community. Minecraft (while many different age-groups play it and many communities are diverse) attracts youth below the age of 18. Any exposure to this inappropriate content is on the grounds of a lawsuit.
