Redbaron™ 690 Share Posted October 7, 2011 Pho, joining the Mages Guild is an option you get once you're accepted for magic. It is not at all required. That's why of course I'm going to be a corrupt Mage. This is true, you do not need to join the mages guild at all to become a mage, I personally know a few people who will do exactually that. But there is no reason not to join, there is no needs you need besides being a balanced person who is neither good nor evil. Many benefits would be a backing for money issues, the support of a entire guild of mages supporting every class other then your own, (( and in a ooc chat a heavy rp expierence as we will be making quests for our people and send them on them, we will also be teaching classes such as history and the use of magic )) In my personal opinion there is no reason not to join, this guild will be a great addition to the world once magic and the new continent will be our main place, I personally dont know what the mages guild has instore for the people of aegis in this new continent but im sure it will be the same, I will personally make 10-15 quests for everyone and i will also write up many classes on what to teach in this new world in my guildhall. Sagwort 833 Share Posted October 17, 2011 ((If you read Slayers comments he will be returning some time (not soon) and he gave tehlulu a set of instructions although since she is gone (she might be using a diffrent charector) there are no archmages active so yes me and redbaron are trying to manage it. Archmage_Cataris 622 Share Posted October 19, 2011 OOC: Back when i was in the Guild we would have to tell people to take anything related to "mage" out of their name such as "battlemage" or "archmage" so that it wouldn't really deceive people, also there was an incident where another Mages guild was taken down. Is that still regulated? as i met a man today with Battlemage in his name, i told him kindly that the Mages Guild was once against that and i was unsure if they still kept the rule, and he told me he was apart of a Mages guild that had around 10 members and i wanted to know wether thats still not allowed? or is allowed? We at first thought that tehlulu quite lord of the craft although I heard from serenityonyx that she just is taking a break. Slayer seems to have been inactive although when we look at his forum page he still seems to be active. Also several renevations have been dont to the tower so we know he is still active just laying low it seems. With no arch-mage in power right now me and redbaron are forced to try to keep the guild running. Although it will not be active until magic or the new world comes out. They seem to me to not mix very well on the assumption that magic is sortof viewed as a dark art and therefore distanced from religeous purity. Just my opinion, not sure how it would work. Magic isn't a dark art in all fantasy worlds. In most magic has dark spells and good ones too. Gandalf was a wizard, he was very far from dark. I do not wish to take away members from the Mage's Guild, I only offer teaching and insight. The day of the Wizards Council will soon be upon us. A day free of the cursed magic of the void where gods magic can once again fill the souls of Aegis. My selection process is a secret known only to me and I am very selective. Your first task is the find the Isle itself. If you can make your way there I will ask you a series of questions. Should you pass you will begin your training. Perhaps someday I can also meet formally with the Mage's Guild to see how we might benefit each other. Please do not message me for details on how to get to the Isle.
