The Missing Villagers

[Jistuma 1996]

*A worried looking lady approaches the crowd at the Cloud Temple and begins to tell her story to a group of nearby travelers *

My entire village! Gone! I can’t find them anywhere. *The weary lady begins to weep silently.* My children, my husband, the mayor… everyone…

*Takes a deep breath and tries to explain to the crowd*

You see, I left to visit a friend whose child had just passed to offer what comfort I could. Everything was fine when I left. Except… *she trails off.*

There were rumors going around before I left about the strange things that had been found.

*She pauses, looking thoughtful for a moment before looking anxiously at the crowd around her.*

*Axl is leaning against the tree in the temple reading a tome of the Elven literature. As he flips the page he hears the woman screaming frantically. He closes his book and walks over to her. He places a hand on her shoulder "Ma'am, what has happened?" She explains what has happened. Nearing the end of her tale she begins to panic, and grab Axl's hood. "Ma'am" he says, gently taking her hands and moving them off his hood. "I swear on my own honor, I will find your missing people. Do you have any leads that I can follow?"

*The lady shakes and her knees crumble to the floor as she weeps.*

I don't know hat happen.. They are just gone, all the houses empty, the tavern closed.

*Tears start dropping from her eyes*

And my child, my love... I searched for them, I screamed until my voice was no more.. I could not find them. The town is deserted, nothing seems right..

*She supports herself on Axl's hands*

I don't have any leads.. I don't know what happened... *She tightens the grip on Axl* But please, please! Find what happened, I beg someone to find them!

*Axl supports her and says calmly* "Relax ma'am, where is this village? I shall set forth as soon as you tell me where it is."

Thank you kindly good man, I asked the monks to make a copy of the map. I know it is not that easy to read, but it's all I have.

*The lady removes a small leather map, folded in half and wraped in string from her bellogings. He then places it in the man's hand*

(you ain't getting better than this, it's meant to be hard)

Do not go alone, I fear for what might have happen to the last good soul that said he would find it. Take friends and take suplies. (this is a very hard quest, it's to be rp'ed all the way with othe people)

- As Flynn walks into the temple , he see's what appears to be Axl comforting , or chatting up some lady. Flynn walks over with a grin on his face before he hears the lady's pleas. -

" Axl , I'll come with yer' if ye' be needin' 'elp. I'm up fer' a good ol' ques'. "

*nods to him "Aye Flynn. This old Ranger could use a companion."

Caddis Blayne removes the old pipe from his clenched jaws and releases a plume of smoke into the air as he watches the scene unfold. The old fisherman adjusts his hat and coat. "There be strange things afoot, I tell ya" he mutters to himself. He puffs one more on the pipe and hurries off toward the stables.

*A long time has passed since Axl told the lady he was going to investigate, and not receiving any news, he asks a monk to make a copy of the extra map she has and heads to the sanctuary once more to tell her story, now with a calmer voice*

*Hears the women telling her story* "I will go and investigate your village, I would need to know where it is first though to look around it."
