The Shipwright's Guild

Our Purpose

For too long have I walked the paths and byways of Asulon, traveling from port to port, seeing only disgraceful ships. Some are better than others, but their is still a significant lack of regulation.

We aim to change that.

We will train and catalogue Shipwrights, giving them ranks and credentials. No longer will poor-quality ships be sold on the open market, the ports shall be brimming with top-of-the-line ships.

Our Law

None who do not count themselves among our number may build a ship. They shall be considered outcasts and Criminals by our men, and should be rightfully prosecuted by other nations

The Art of Ship Building

Our craft is ancient and skillful, and our members must follow our law of construction, they are allowed to add their own flair however. We shall keep a library, cataloging all our knowledge, and it shall be our most valuable secret.

The Ranks of Wrights

Enforcer

You serve as a soldier of the guild, enforcing its creed on the shipwrights who would seek to go rogue

Apprentice

New to the guild, they are either someone picked from the rabble, or a wise soul who sought us out themselves. They are not yet authorized to build and sell their own ships. They will be assigned to a Master Shipwright until they have learned the craft well enough to move up.

Journeyman

The first level in which the member may build their own ships, yet they are not yet permitted to sell them. They must build a ship, their Propositum, and it will be approved by the Council of Master Shipwrights for them to move on.

Shipwright

The member has finally moved on the true purpose of the guild. At this rank, they may build and sell ships on the market, as well as learn more of the craft from the Library, or practice their craft at the Guild's Dry Docks.

Head Shipwright

Only one may hold this rank, and he will oversee all Shipwrights and Journeymen. He has the functional rank of a Shipwright.

Master Shipwright

These skilled and privileged men sit the Council of Master Shipwrights, those who approve Journeymen's Propistum, as well as make decisions to edit the library

Grand Master Shipwright

The Leader of the Guild, chosen from the Council, who holds the position until his death. He holds the Wright's Tome, the book containing our most valuable secrets.

Who May Join Us

We will take any man who wishes to join us, if he be true of heart. Their is no age too old to learn our craft, for it is a lifetime calling.

Our Punishment

Those who build ships and are not authorized by The Guild will have their knee caps broken

For those who we feel have disgraced our order, we have but one punishment. They are stripped of all titles and credentials, and they are forever disallowed to dishonor the seas with their creations.

This current Guild has been deemed inactive and has hereby been moved.

If you wish to appeal this decision you must present evidence to myself proving the guild is still active.
