Character Skillset:

Salith is stealthy and cunning, adept at survival and hand-to-hand combat.

He prefers his claws over any other weapon(100 Wrestling) and hates restricting armor.

His survival skills include fishing(75) and hunting as well as being able to fashion crude shelter from trees and shrubs(Lumberjack 50). He can also build good snares for game and sometimes people.

Appearance (age, SUBRACE, gender):

Salith is a forty two year old male Kha’Pantera with jet-black fur and emerald eyes. He stands at six feet and three inches and has a rather thin build.

Personality:

Salith is analytical and cunning but he is kind to those who do not pose a threat to him. He comes off as stubborn and cold but he’s really a big softie at heart. He treats his friends with kindness and care and he treats his enemies with ruthlessness and hatred.

So you wish to learn of my past? Very well.

I grew up in the jungle with my mother and father away from our usual jungle island. My father was Ko’ and my mother was Sa’ in our small tribe.

My father taught me to fight with my bare hands and claws. These skills served me well out in the jungle. I became skilled at taking down wild wolves and colossus spiders. Of course, just fighting isn’t enough to survive. I also learned to build crude shelters and catch fish.

After I grew up, I set out on my own, living in the jungle as a whole. There I honed my skills as a hunter, learning snares and traps. It was a good life until a group of apes came. They desecrated my home jungle and chopped down the trees. They scared off the animals and destroyed every source of food. I confronted them but they chained me and brought me back to their lands. I learned to hate apes that day. I still give them a chance, but unless they prove otherwise then they're no better than these apes.

After bringing me back to their lands in chains, they held a trial and deemed me nothing more than a nuisance and let me free. There was only one problem. I was stuck in their lands. I didn’t know where home was, if anything of my home was left. Alienated, I wandered until I found a rather nice looking temple with an amazing mix of races, even a few of my brothers and sisters!

It is here that I start my adventure. I hope to find my home one day if it still exists but maybe I can etch out a living in the lands of the other races. Time will tell.

Character's ambitions:

Salith seeks to find his old home after being dragged to and abandoned in human lands or learn to live among the other races.

1.

As you travel through the Karakatuan jungle, you spot a human trespassing on your nation's lands. He approaches you, obviously distressed, and asks for any food, water, or shelter that you can provide, then tells you that he has been lost in the area for days without any proper supplies. How do you react?:

I growl at him to try to scare him off, but he is persistent. I say “You should not be here, ape!” and he begs back “Please... I’m lost and hungry...” I growl and toss him a few fish. “There. Now leave before I get my brothers.”

He eats the fish hungrily and then proceeds to follow me. I’m very annoyed by this and turn and growl at him again. “Leave!”

He replies “But I need shelter! I’m lost!” and I shout back “Well you cannot stay here, lest I call my brothers and you’ll regret being here.”

He reels back and runs off at my shout. I grin finally seeing him go. He’s definitely smart for an ape.

2.

As you romp through the lands of the "apes", you come across a tavern. Inside this tavern, a Dwarf notices you and starts gawking at you, then begins to speak.

"Oi! I gots a bowl of cream for you, Kitty! Ha! I'd bet you would make a nice throw rug, wouldn't ya, ya mangy furball?!"

He continues act generally as racist as possible. What do you do?:

I roll my eyes at him and growl to myself. I try to ignore him, but he won’t stop.

I glare and growl at him to try to shut him up but he persists with insulting my race.

I try my best to keep from ripping him to shreds in anger. I say as calmly as I can “Stop it, short one. You’re just making me angry.” and he replies “Oh, makin’ ya angry am I? Harhar! Ye couldn’ hurt me if ya tried ya furbawl.”

I say “I do not want conflict but if you persist, there will be bloodshed.” and he replies “Is tha’ a threat, throwrug?”

I say “Maybe.” and he draws his axe.

I growl and raise my claws but one of the apes intervenes, saying “Now settle down! We don’t want any fighting in here!” and the dwarf straps his axe back to his side and says “Ye got lucky furbawl.”

I growl at him and storm out of the tavern, furious.

3.

One of your fellow Kharajyr and a close friend of yours comes to your dwelling in the middle of the night and begins to pound on your door. After you let him in, he confesses to killing another Kharajyr over a slice of cake. What do you do in response?

I frown at him. “You know I cannot let this go unchecked...” and he replies “But you’re my best friend... please... help.”

I sigh and place my hand on his shoulder. “You know I cannot. It is the law.”

He begins to cry and I begin to tie his hands behind his back regretfully.

“I am sorry, friend. But I must do this... you have committed a crime and must be punished.”

I take him to the peacekeepers and report the situation. “My friend here has killed a fellow Kha over a slice of cake. I’m bringing him here to uphold the law, however regretfully. The law must be followed.”

The peacekeepers nod to me and say “You did the right thing. We shall make sure he’s justly punished.”

I watch them take him away and sigh. I then turn around and head home.

Do you swear to follow the Tlatlanni and uphold his law, and do you swear to hold Metztli and all of her actions as sacred?

In your bio you mention being enslaved, and I quote "I hated them for it". I'm not sure if this is referring to the slavers, or apes in general. Just curious as to where you were going with this. And secondly, by "the jungle" (referring to where you were raised) are you referring to the original island, or just any jungle. If you were raised on the original island, you'd likely been tought to hold a bitter hatred for all apes. Regardless, you have a nice app, one worthy of being accepted!

As to your questions;

He hates apes in general because of it but he gives each individual ape the chance to prove that they're against the norm.

Also he was raised away from the original island but taught the Kharajyr beliefs and that everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves, even the apes.

I'll edit my story to clarify these questions.

Edit 2: I realize that my app may seem a little short but I meant this as a fairly standard character so I left some room for him to develop as I play him. My characters usually get their details ironed out as I start to play them and really get a feel for what I want them to be.

I'm retiring Salith. I hardly ever play him any more and he never played any major roles. He doesn't want to leave and will perish with Asulon.
