The Book Of Three

Three books are set on three separate pedestals. Each of these books stand about half the size of a full grown dwarf on it's own. The words of the books are of the old dwarven language, written as it is tradition to do so. These volumes are kept in the chambers of the dwarven lords and are kept on a twenty-four hour guard. For a dwarf to enter writing into one of these books, said dwarf must gain the permission from a dwarven lord first.

-=Book of Law=-

We, the dwarven lords Hiebe Irongut, Gulroid Goldhand, and Bazian Grandaxe, record the laws of our forefathers for the first time in official record. With this reconfirming of old laws, we write our own so that we may have fairness and honor through out our halls.

-=Laws of our Ancestors=-

Oath Law: An oath is the promise of a dwarf on his honor and the honor of his kin or clan. It is by law that oaths may not be broken once made. If the oath was in the form of a grudge, then said grudge will be passed down in the next line of kin, if the dwarves passes on.

Greed Law: If a dwarf is found harboring or stealing from their kin, then said dwarf is subject to the judgement of his or her clan father. If the greed consumes an entire clan, then said clan will be judged by the noble clans.

Kin-Slayer Law: A dwarf that slays one of their own kin is dishonorable in the eyes of our ancestors. These dwarves are honorless and will be dealt with by the judgement of their respective clan fathers.

Honoring of the Dead, Law: Once a dwarf has fallen on the battlefield or by natural causes, said dwarf is to have a proper burial ritual preformed. Upon completion of said ritual, the dwarf is to be place into the earth, stone to stone. If this is not done, the kin of the dwarf is to feel the wrath of Dunngrim.

Naming Law: All places of dwarven settlement must be named in the honor of the ancestors by use of the old dwarven language. There are instances that names of paragons may be used in the naming of holds but are used seldom.

-=Dwarven Law=-

I, Hiebe Irongut, one of the three dwarven lords of Karik, post this law for all to see. Due to increasing amounts of reports, I will use a law of all seizing of books concerning the Monks and or people who have been in contact with them. Any outsiders caught searching for these books in Karik shall be arrested. All guards be on the lookout for outsiders as many people have been entering our halls disturbing the peace. May the Paragons watch over you.

On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that the area once known as the "Noble District" of the Holy City of Kal'Karik has been seized by the Clergy for use as their Temple, as the the the site has been declared a Holy Place by the High-Prophet. Any Dwarves not given permission by the Clergy or Clan Lords to enter the area shall be arrested and punished for their transgression.

On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that any Dwarves found revering any Paragon above the Brathmordakin shall give exactly one thousand Minas taxes to the Clergy to apologize for their transgressions.

On this day, by order of His Holiness, High Prophet of the Brathmordakin, Voice of Yemekar, Arch-Bishop of the Dwarves, Thane of Clan Starbreaker, Kazraden Starbreaker, it is decreed that any Dwarves found revering any figure besides the Gods, Paragons, and Ancestors shall be burned at the Altar of Anbella, exiled for all time from the Dwarven Race, and their clan fined ten thousand Minas by the clergy if harboring a Heretic.

-=Book of Grudge=-

This book is kept for the sole purpose of remembrance of the ones that have wronged us so that way we may correct them and remember their dishonorable acts. Once a grudge is placed, the only way to have it removed is by the completion of the grudge. When removing a grudge from the book of grudge it is to be crossed out in a single line, that way it is still legible. Grudges can be written by anyone for any purpose big or small.

For all dwarven kin I bear this grudge. It seems appropriate that the first grudge written be one of united dwarves concerning the matter. I, Bazian Grandaxe, bear this grudge against the Teutonic Order, specifically the two dwarves known as, Dain and Brudah. The order itself has made a great enemy of the dwarves from the time Mirtok took up as it's master. Particular inquiries include; Heretical speaking in Kal'Karik, stating "I will enslave your race!", attacks against Kal'Anart during diplomatic meetings, disowning their own race as dwarves (specifically Dain and Brudah), many skirmishes between the two groups and the treachery from revealing the location of the hidden halls of Khaz'a'Zharr, to our greatest enemy the Orcs, allowing them in the sacking of it. As they have caused us with the loss of dwarven blood, so too they must have this grudge fulfilled with blood. We do not forget, and to those that renounce themselves as dwarves, be known that we will not take mercy on you. In fact, we will seek you out the most.

Grudge against Ventus ((huskyboy2k10)) for breaking a multitude of laws and insulting our Paragon and Military leader, Kjell.
Right of Speech;Independent Guilds Law;Elder Law;Other Races
Punishment: Scrubbing the armory while wearing a sheep costume.

Grudge on Deke Valentine: Stole the sacred Dwarven Anvil
Debt repaid with death.

Thorin Grandaxe for the unlawful attack against Dun Irongut and for having affiliation with the Syndicate.

Galrim Stormhammer is to receive 50 lashes on the back for outright disrespect to elders, attempted murder of another dwarf, insulting another clan, and disrespecting the Irongut hall with spitting on it's stonework with bad intentions.

-=Book of Records=-

The official history of records amongst clans reside in this book. This considers any major land purchases, claims by clans, claims by individual dwarves, trade agreements of any large amount, alliances between nations or groups, treaties signed from the ending of a war, the list could go on.

We, the dwarven lords of Kal'Karik, give unto the engineers of this grand city, headed by Dominic Irongut, the halls of the old prison. The area extends from the halls of the prison out into the right wing of the old guarding area. These halls will be passed down to next of right from the engineers when Dom passes from this world.

We, the dwarven lords of Kal'Karik, give unto the smiths of this grand city, headed by Skath Grandaxe, ravine to the left upon entering the new gates of Kal'Karik. For these will be the fiery, red forges that will keep our city alive and strong.

We, the dwarven lords of Kal'Karik, give unto Kilgrim Irongut the halls of the old magi district in the back of the district of the gods.

We, the dwarven lords of Kal'Karik, give unto the commoner clans of this grand city each a district of fifty meters wide and fifty meters long, going all the way to bedrock. These clans consist of Forkbeards, Edgehands and Tunnelsmashers. May the clans live strong!

[Just add it to the "Laws of the Kings", but change it to "Dwarven Law".]

After the harassment of the Teutons in Kal'Karik, Bazain approaches Kilgrim with the intent of getting him to write in the Book of Grudge.

*A note written by Dun Irongut and signed by his clan-father, Hiebe Irongut, is placed on the throne. It reads...*

Thorin Grandaxe, a guard and soldier of the Dwarven Legion, has attacked me in the center of the city. He proceeded to choke me, spit on me, and kick me before I retaliated. Then, rather recently, I had discovered that the very reason he has struck me (defending Elves who had entered out city and insulted it), is flawed. I have seen on of them, the sister, with the Syndicate. It is for these reasons that I hold a grudge against this man and will not rest until he has made a public apology or renounced his legion position for an abuse of power.

*Kilgrim shuffles through the mound of papers at his desk and finds an envelope labeled, "Grudge," he tears open the evenlope and reads the contents...*

Grudge acknowledged and accepted.

And so it shall be written.

Bael Tunnelsmasher sends a letter to Kilgrim.

Galrim Stormhammer. This beardling has the audacity to assail me without provocation. When I proceeded to 'educate' him on the proper respect that should be shown for his elders, he drew a sword on me and attempted to injure me severly, once again, the imbecile was outmatched, as I drew my blade, both superior in craftsmanship and material. After beating him senseless, he proceeded to insult all the Ironguts, by disrupting an important meeting between Omithiel and Hiebe in the Irongut clan hall, and disrespected the stonework of our kin with his filthy phlegm. He also challenged me again, only to be served - again. I henceforth write a grudge on this idiotic beardling until such time as he repays me for ruining my iron blade with his filthy blood and apologizes to his betters publicly. I expected better from Kjell's rabble.

Gorum enters the Remembrancers office once more, a parchment in his hand.

" Hail Remembrancer Kilgrim Irongut, I come with a parchment that you must read regarding th' current grudge placed awn Thorin Grandaxe, Commander of the Dwarven Legion. "

Gorum places the parchment on the table infront of the elder Dwarf before stepping back and nodding, exiting the room.

" This parchment is directed towards the Head Remembrancer Kilgrim regarding a grudge placed on Thorin Grandaxe, requested by Dun Irongut, and approved and placed into the book of grudges.

I, Lord Gorum Frostbeard, request that this grudge is removed for the following reasons. Thorin Grandaxe is a Commander of the Legion, and he was ordering Dun Irongut to enter the hold along with the rest of the Dwarves to properly prepare for an upcomming Orcish raid. After speaking with Dwarves that witnessed the situation they all confirmed that this is exactly what happened. Infact, Dun was the one who was denying orders from the Commander in times of battle, thus not enabling him to place an invalid grudge on the Commander.

After the situation Dun proceeded to insult Thorin, claiming he has no honor. In which Thorin replied with insults towards Dun, but not for the sake of insulting, but for haste. Thorin tried his best to make Dun head into the hold for the Orcs were near, but Dun refused to listen. Dun Irongut took this as an act worth placing a grudge on Thorin Grandaxe for. I myself deem this invalid, and hopefully you have the same view as me Head Remembrancer Kilgrim. From here I will leave it in your hands after providing you with the true information regarding this grudge. "

From further review I've decided that the grudge placed, on Thorin Grandaxe, is to be removed.

The paper is signed with a gold seal, and a name. Kayne Goldhand
