Re-Occurring Nightmare

Monk Soh'Rog tossed and turned as he slept inside his chambers, safe within the confines of the Wilven Sanctuary, though he was more distressed and disturbed while sleeping than comfortable, and far from it.

The same dream has repeated over and over every night for the last few months. It was beginning to deteriorate the old elves' mind because of the strikingly, and disturbingly, life-like scene, as if it wasn't a dream at all. Soh'Rog could recall it perfectly..

A dull landscape, devoid of all life; smoke rises into the sky from small settlements that hold what seem to be soldiers of an unknown faction. They roam about the desolate wasteland, most likely patrolling. But for what?

Though the landscape was grim, it could almost be considered peaceful. Such peacefulness was present until, abruptly, some creature, far into the air emitted an ear-drum-shattering screech able to scare off even the mightiest armies, warriors and mages. The soldiers shouted inaudible commands over the loud beastial scream; the screeching seemed to heighten in both volume and number as several of the odd, winged creatures that soared the air multiplied.

They swooped down, crashing into the small military encampments, devastating them with a blaze of fire that turned the entire settlements into ash.

The entire event seemed like it passed in a matter of minutes before Soh'Rog woke up with a start, drenched in a cold sweat. He buries his face into his hands and groans out to express the mix of irritation, worry and frustration he held because of these nightmares. Soh'Rog whispers softly to himself,

"They.. don't stop. How long will it be until they finally do? Weeks? Months? Years?"

Soh'Rog took time to sit in his bed and reflect on what the dire dreams mean. He sat there, minute after minute, straining his old, aged mind what they mean, until what he assumed as a realization hit him; not too long ago, the Wizard returned. This was first noted when he slew a pack of drakes -- This certainly connects.

Lifting himself from his bed, Soh'Rog clambers over to his bookshelf and pulls a book from the shelf, one explaining Drakes and their physical structure. Scales, wings and a ferocious, hostile demeanor. Exactly what he envisioned in the dreams..

These.. beasts. These Drakes are a threat; Soh'Rog clearly remembers when one of their kind single-handedly took over the capital of Kal'Karik and stayed dormant there for many, many years. Such a creature could eradicate the land if they are able enough to reproduce. Shaken by the possibility, Soh'Rog pondered upon other things that posed as threats to the land. Walking skeletons that control the dead, assassains, bandits and corrupt politicians with the intent only to control. The land was thick with danger and destruction and Soh'Rog was blind to it, or atleast to an extent.

Soh'Rog remembered the olden days where he was a man of Aerial, always one to assist the weak and poor. Always giving an effort, though too weak and simple-minded to assist the weak who were really in danger. Soh'Rog was a man who envied the true embodiments of the followers of Aerial, the Sages and the Ascended. Such noble warriors they were, only to shamefully perish and become twisted as Iblees' own pets were in the end. Such a shame to see the sole protectors of the lands die.

Frustrated by the sudden, massive realization, Soh'Rog pulled several dusty tomes concerning the Ascended, Aerial, and her followers, and began to read and study. This sudden turn of events has changed him in mere minutes than what has ever happened to his extensive lifetime. With the sudden overwhelming urge to strike against the possible and actual threats that roam the land, Soh'Rog read and studied. Soh'Rog prepared.

[['Tis a fraction of whats to come, expect more. ^^]]

((Reminds Panda of a reoccurring dream she had... It came true and her friend died... It didn't even seem new since she saw it over and over and over. She told he friend a lot of times to the point of him becoming extremely paranoid... Yet it still happened. Will there be drakes to unleash horrible wrath upon us? ))

[[No, that's for the higher-ups to decide. Only a dream Soh's having.]]
