How about you guys simply do a little something that doesnt involve giving things to the donators? Why dont you simply have a news letter, every month written by VAQ himself or Native which lists every person who had donated that month that shows how much the team is appreciative? Surely this is more of an incentive than simply donating and thats that? Just my personal idea but it may help to boost the incentive without adding more material perks.

It's truley adorable that you think enough people would donate to buy/rent the equipment needed for their names on a list. We're humans, we like stuff, it's the way of things.

My personal suggestions to mitigate this:

1. Get the TCP Dump, and constantly ring up your server providers and ask them what they are doing
2. Ring up your server provider and get them to record it
3. Take the server down from Minecraft lists. Why? Because I bet you right now, that the top 15 minecraft servers get ddos'd by jealous fan boys and such... it occured in Ultima Online freeshards, and the best way was to take your listing off a top 100 servers site

Take it down from minecraft lists? Then we would take a huge blow to the influx of new players.

As for this stoping the DDOSers, it might stop some new DDOSers finding us, but it won't stop the current ones.

Well Availer just got back from his one year hiatus, and now the server has been almost constantly down. Do we have any suspicions that it may be an old player who disliked Availer, and want to discourage his return? I do remember something about HappyShackles threatening a DDoS awhile back.

Uhhh. The last thing we need is a 12 year old script kiddie who got his 6 word application denied Ddosing us. Can't you just block the ips from countries where Ddosing is legal and wait for the kid to blow his money away?

Whatever DDoS protection system we go for, DO NOT use Black Lotus. I've read at least 15 reviews that name them as scammers who breach the private data of their clients. Worse still, they're known for hosting the servers for several infamous paedophile websites.
