A New High Prince Ascends the Council

To the dearest citizens, brothers, and sisters of the Holy Princedom of Malinor. We have endured many trials and hardships together since our arrival almost six decades ago into the realm of Asulon. High Prince Haelphon delivered our people here from the damnation of Aegis. With his wisdom and guidance our very lives and souls were delivered here.

Asulon has never been kind to the Children of Malin. Wars, plagues, and strife have been apart of our every day lives, for so long that we almost know nothing else. Since my ascension to the position of High Princess, I have took it upon myself to deliver us even further to our former prosperity and glory.

These last three decades as your High Princess have proved to be as trying as the first three here in Asulon. But I am proud to see that with everyone's help, we have moved even further to our goals.

When I first became a Princess of our High Council back in the realm of Aegis, I was still very much a youngling. I had spent my first couple of decades within the schooling guided by my mother in the southern edges of the forest south of Laurelin and Sister City.

The council then believed that my youth would help bring new ideas and perspectives. They were correct. My ideas and methods were unorthodox but effective and integral to our current state of prosperity.

Though I have shown great potential in my near century of service on our High Council, I believe that my perspective is rather limited. As I have stated, I have stood upon this council for the entirety of my adult life. I believe it is now time for me to step down and experience the world from another perspective.

The High Coumcil has already met and a decision for my successor has been reached. Bravepaw has been chosen to lead the Children of Malin as our next High Prince.

I wish for everyone to give him the support and cooperation that you have given me. It is the council's honest belief that he will take us even further to accomplishing our goals in Asulon. He has both the wisdom and experience needed to perform the duties as High Prince.

Malinor has endured many trials in the past. But I would like for everyone to know that this transition is not one of those. This is a time for celebration. To honor ourselves and our success against all odds. And to honor our fallen and our ancestors who cannot be with us here today. To brothers and sisters that have come before us and who will come after.

There is still much to be done, but you have been left in no better hands then that of your new High Prince. Please give him your support and your congratulations.

*looks at the letter, astonishment flooding her face as her eyes pass over it. As she takes in the contents of the letter, her countenance slowly melts into a smile. Bravepaw is well suited for the job, and she could not want for a better replacement. She looks forward to his rule.*

Looking up from his book, Lucion raises his eyebrow in suprise. He places his glass of wine on the table and closes his book with a soft "thud." Lucion taps his chin and then shrugs shaking his head.

"How odd. One did not expect Ms Sythra's retirement for at least another century. I forget who this "Bravepaw" is. I must see if I can "accidentally" run into the fellow some time. Of course, I do so desperately dislike going to Malinor...

Lucion shakes his head quickly, realising he had gone off on a slight tangent.

"At least this one is not married to a mali'aheral. At least, I think he isn't..."

He looks up to the seeker who, despite Lucion's ramblings, was still waiting.

"Best look into that."

"Sythra, you have done well by Malinor and its people. You have had the title of High Councilor in Malinors most difficult time and turned it in the right direction and made Malinor thrive. It is a sad day to see you leaving the council, you are one of the greatest minds this Nation has ever seen. You have left Malinor in my hands in great condition and full of honor and pride."

*Bravepaw stands at the entrance to the Elder Tree. He removes his mask, letting it fall to the ground. As he looks down at his hand that holds a dusty crown, handed to him by the former High Prince Native, he wipes it clean with his sleeve. He then places it on his head and stands tall and proud with a determined face.*

"Brothers and Sister, Citizens of Malinor, it is a great honor to take the title of High Prince. It is also a great responsibility. Malinor is in good health because of Sythra, but now is not the time to rest. You all know too well that times of plenty and cheer can be taken away over night. I will see many projects through that Sythra has put in motion as well as some others. But this is not a job for one elf. Members of malinor we need to unite as the family we are meant to be and work together for a common goal. Some of you listening are workers of the field, others are members of our military. No matter what role you play in this great nation I need every soul that holds the spirit of Malin in their heart as I do to come together and become one. Most of you will be getting a visit from me as I assess all of Malinors lands, military, work force, and trade."

"There is a large list of things that need taking care of and I'm sure the list will grow along with Malinor. The time for opportunity is now, and greatness is at our finger tips. We need only to come together as one being and reach out and take it. As I said, Sythra was one of the greatest minds that Malinor has ever seen. I plan to be the greatest muscle. Hard work and dedication is what will make us great. We will eat the fruits of our labor as we earn these successes by the sweat of our brow."

*Bravepaw starts to pace as he delivers his speech*

"We are Elves, the oldest of races. Years are but days to us. Failure haunts us for much longer. I want to see a Malinor that will stand the test of time, thats foundation and people will never sway. But every foundation to a home is built one block at a time."

* As he stops pacing he picks up a hammer leaning against the fence, and raises it in the air.*

"Malinor, Its time to work!"
