A Notice

Dear Ladies and Lords of Haelun’or, I have sent this notice to notify you of an attack on Haelun’or. Only a few days ago, a very illiterate valah came to the gates of Haelun’or, demanding that he would be let in. However, I declined his request, stating that “I do not wish for your kind to taint the Silver City. Leave now, and I will not shoot you.”

The human was walking away when he said “To the hells with yee, babbler!” and attacked. He fired several arrows at me, yet missed. I shot back at him, hitting him in the leg.

At this point, he got out a staff, and hobbled away. I came down from my perch to follow the blood trail. That is when I found the valah, impaled upon his own staff. It appears as if he tripped on a gnarled root, only a few inches away.

Do not worry; I buried the body several miles away. We wouldn’t want to scare off our kin, would we?

Note:

From further investigation, it seems that the Staff (which for some odd reason had a sharp point to it like a spear) within his body did not kill him. It was his neck breaking from the fall.
