*Arzota moves to the fire, appearing out of the darkness in stark black robes, he sits with his hood down to listen to the conversation, drinking in everything that is said, letting the ideas mill about in his mind as he stares into the fire from under his cowl.*

*Xexus sighs and begins to speak up again.*

"I think... One more wrong step and we are all doomed. The council will hopefully take their next steps of action carefully, but so far based on past happenings, I have great doubt in that. Perhaps it is better for them to do nothing, as the have been a little time ago before these happenings, than create more chaos."

Elorna speaks up hesitantly, her opinions still forming in her head.

"I trust the council, but perhaps that is only because I am too young to remember Malinor as it once was," she says with a shrug. "I agree that adding more members would be a good thing, but this council has been consulting the people of Malinor on the most recent decisions made."

She pulls her shawl up around her shoulders, shuddering slightly. "I admit, I'm apprehensive... but I believe the council is doing what it can, and the path the Mali are taking will lead us to peace. We just need to wait, and eventually the valah threat will die off on its own."

*Xexus lets out a burst of air, while he fiddles with his staff. He looks to the crowd with mysterious amethyst eyes. Then he looks up at the moon doing a silent prayer withing his mind. He turns his attention on them again starting to speak.*

"I believe our best course of action currently is to wait... We cannot predict the future, so we might as well see what the council does. War would be a terrible choice, as would sitting here and doing nothing. Like before, we must attempt to resolve our problems through diplomacy."

Elorna nods slowly in agreement with Xexus, then sighs. "Sadly, it would seem that the valah's idea of diplomacy is dictating to us who our leaders should be..."

*A hooded and cloaked figure sits down by the fire as he had heard the discussions and followed a few elves to the place. He hears the last few comments and then decides to speak.*

"Yet to wait. . . To wait is only to wait for your own destruction. It little matters what the council will do. Oren will have the council serve them or destroy them in order to control. In the end Oren merely wants control, complete and total, with no compromise."

*He pauses to take a drink from a flask that he procures from his cloak.*

"Whether or not you wish to consider and think like the aged and nearly immortal beings that many here are blessed to be, the Valah will give no such consideration. Humani are naturally rash, and will resort to less well thought and considered action. To wait is to allow them to gain a powerful and destructive hand over you."

*looks up at the hooded character that seemed to come from the shadows themselves to join them at the flames*

"What would you have us do then hooded one?"

"Prepare for a full, true, and bloody war, gather allies and supplies and prepare the city for a siege or evacuate and find lands to remain safe from the grip of the Empire. Otherwise you must accept that you will be serving under the flag of the Humani Empire, and it will not be a rule of freedom and equality."

*Kalenz blinks, looks to the hooded figure for a moment and then chuckles*

"Perhaps you are ill-informed. There will be no war unless the council continues in its folly when representing the entirety of the mali. The forecast may be grim, but not quite as dreadful as you may think."

*Chuckles slightly beneath his hood.*

"You truly think that Oren will give up the chance to take the Elven nation? The council's actions merely determine whether Oren will take the lands peacefully under their terms or take it by the sword. The will of the Emperor, Imperial Royalty, and Nobility will lead to control, they merely wanted an excuse to invade, now they have one in their minds."

*Takes another sip from his flask*

"It is the choice of yours to wait, but if you do, Oren will have the Elves to bend under its iron will."

"Although the alliance with the bortu was foolish, Malinor and the other mali of the emerald isle have many allies. It is unwise to surrender before any definitive event has occurred. Furthermore, I myself will never remain willingly under the thumb of an inferior valah. Indeed there are many lands in all cardinal directions, remaining on the emerald isle is not our only choice and the valah can not conquer all. Even their petty withering 'emperor' will know that."

*Kalenz rolls his eyes upon uttering the word emperor before staring back into the fire.*

"So. . . you are prepared then to fight the might of the Humani Empire and its armies of steel and diamond?"

*Kalenz's eyes widen*

"Me? No... Not in the slightest."

*Kalenz looks down as if to dismiss the comment as a far flung and nigh impossible eventuality and then swiftly remarks*

"Though I'm sure Malinor will fight for the problem it has caused if it would come to such a point. That being said, there are far more desirable ways to death with such a situation... Such as hiding."

*Kalenz nods rapidly, as if trying to reassure himself such would be the valid course of action.*

"So you suggest to hide. . . hide the entire Nation? Or do you merely look for your own well being?"
