Feedback And Suggestions For The Next Island

Honestly, I thought both maps were great, but maybe you could take the most liked parts of them both and combine them in the new one.

One of the things liked about aegis (At least for me anyway, and I lived right off it) was the king's road. Having a large, well maintained high way connecting the realms was quite frankly awesome. One of the major complaints though were that you could walk from one end of it, to the other, and potentially through all 4 racial kingdoms, in 10 minutes.

Asulon had a much larger travel time. But then new players who never knew aegis came along and went 'omg, wtf why i walk 20 min to go 1/4 way across map? this sux' and so rapid travel came into play, with horses and ships.

That's just one aspect though, I could write 10 pages about the maps. I would suggest a kings-like-road in 3.0 which was well maintained, populated at points, and ran to all the kingdoms, maybe put the travel time somewhere halfway between aegis and asulon.

Also, keep the neat hidden stuff asulon had, like the dungeons and puzzles and things. I had the time of my life exploring in asulon, like that old crypt lookin thing with the 'ye olde mine' 1 way exit that was northeast of the cloud temple, or that massive tree with the awesome puzzle that was over near menorcress. That blew my f'kin mind. Whomever made that needs a 'Master of Minecraft' title or something... anyway, before I ramble more on all the neat things i've seen on both maps i'd love to see on the third, i'll be wandering off.

Good luck with what you decide to do. I'll certainly poke in once or thrice to wander a bit.

I have an idea for an island. The idea is that on the journey there was a storm in which the ships were damaged and allot of supplies lost. We then see an island with lots of trees and things to replace the supplies, then when we dock at the island we discover that the island is split in two by a ravine (or similar) that can only be passed by a strong bridge, all of the trees and resources are on the other side. The side that we have landed on is rather small (this will mean there will be lots of conflicts, more interaction and generally better RP, also since this is a temporary map people wont have to suffer it for long), there are very few resources, particularly wood, (this means that there will be huge demand for resources and people may start going to extremes to get simple essentials) and allot of sheep (this will hopefully encourage people to build tents). The ships should be unsailable until enough wood is gathered to repair them (hopefully this will mean that people will team together to build the bridge, either that or huge conflicts will ensue). Other advantages of this are that due to the small size of the area where people are that it would be easier for the GMs to monitor it since everyone will be very close together and easier to get to, also the ravine would be in constant sight so GMs would easily see someone if they were trying to build a dirt bridge or such across it, another advantage is since it would be so small people would be forced to build small temporary looking structures.

This is my idea for the next island, whether it will be possible I'm not sure, but I believe it would help with RP and make the GMs jobs allot easier.

I could really do with more server wide events, I feel that loads of people are getting left out at times. The new island sounds good as we have been on this island for a while both ic and ooc. I personally think around 90% of the people saying we shouldn't move are overly attached to there items in game which annoys me as rp is not about how much crap you have at a certain time ( at least to me ). Aside from that I would really like to see sort of main goal or event for the next island that all players can take part in. Maybe like some sort of dragon causing havoc or something of the sort. I think mobs should be on the next map however they really should be nerfed! Its hard to even get out and rp with the mass amounts of mobs everywhere. Lastly I would like to see some sort of restriction on land ownage in this temp map you cant move 3 feet with out seeing some sort of wall. I know this would be hard but maybe something to limit players building so close to others. I cant tell you how much it annoys me when I build a burrow for my halfling and the next day a HUGE inn is blocking my home. Anyhow good job guys! cant wait to see 3.0!
