Feedback And Suggestions For The Next Island

In my honest opinion, if we do end up sticking with the original plan and moving to a new island, here is what I would like to see done, and from what I've read so far it seems like a lot of other players would agree with this.

-Most of the nations and factions basically went all out and claimed huge areas of land on the current island for their homes and villages/cities, thus creating a lot of issues including way to many houses, forts, and unfinished who knows what else being created because everyone wanted a chance to own something of their own, but what really ended up happening is that a huge majority, about 80% of the map from what I've seen so far in my last few days of playing on the new map is that everything is cluttered and most of the settlements, houses, and forts are within about a 20-30 block range of each other and people are still barely role-playing even though they are within shouting distance of each other. I suggest that we try and limit the amount of trying to take as much land as possible for ones self and try and create a few a necessary towns and other establishments based on creating role-play and actually following the reasons for coming to the island in the first place which was to collect supplies and get settled until moving on to the next island.

-Mobs were originally implemented on this map from what I've read to create a hostile environment for the players that would create hell for them until the next move, but unfortunately because of behind the scene issues, most of the original plans have failed, and ended up creating massive lag spikes because of the over spawning of mobs that seem to spawn 3 mobs for every one a player kills. To fix this issue I suggest that on the next map we fix the mob spawn rate issues and actually make it so mobs spawn where they are meant to be and where they are need, as well as make it so we can have cows and pigs instead of thousands of chickens creating the lag that had been creating issues on the server like it had been the past few days. We need to basically make sure that mobs will be set and ready to go once we get to the next island.

-The knockout plugin has created a lot of issues from what I've seen and experienced, a majority of the players enjoy this plugin as it is because you can spar and do a bunch of positive role-play without the fear of dying because you only get knocked out by the player you are fighting against, but the issue as a whole with this plugin is that it gets in the way of player based fights when dying and losing your items is needed, for example in a battle today at the Dwarven barracks, myself and everyone involved had to deal with people getting knocked out and being a nuisance because they got in the way and when they came back from being knocked out they would return to the fight even though they should have died instead and been out of the fight. The Knockout plugin should be either taken away or made so it's only in certain regions where people actually want it, or it could be toggled on and off by the players themselves instead of having to bother a staff member to come and turn it off for the players when PvP is wanted, doing away with this helpful, but annoying plugin would provide plenty of positive benefits that would make things so much easier for the players as well as the staff themselves.

-Some of the items that were key parts of role-play before are restricted and gone on the current map, such as diamonds, red stone, etc. taking these items away for the time being has severely restricted some players from being able to carry out what they had originally wanted for their characters. I suggest that on the next island the items be returned so that players can once again use them for their own reasons whether it be diamonds for PvP or for decoration, these items are essential and should be treated as such.

These are just some of the issues and suggestions I thought of and have heard from other players, but I hope that they help the staff with what they are looking for in terms of feedback.

We honestly don't need to move again. We've finally settled and gotten out of the chaotic, bare-bones survival RP. (Which is nice at times, but we've already done this twice with the temp map and 2.5.) If we had to do it all over again it would feel pointless and frustrating, and I wouldn't enjoy playing as much as I do now when everything is settled and stable. Please do not make us move again.

Anyway, if we must move. Less mobs, more forests.

But seriously, let us stay here until 3.0.

hmm... yeah the island is like 1.5 only with our current characters... but the GMs sould do some events like shoi did some rp with us that spiders would appear from rotten leaves and would infest the area... i wanna see stuff like that happen more that would be nice maybe the next island could be like more cold'ish cause you know... its winter... that would be nice :3

P.S. i must say the 2.5 map was a mess with building and abdoned buildings... it wasnt very nice to look at...

I think it isn't that bad, but the mob mechanics might need a little alter, however the role play has been rather exciting and I like the overall 'hostile' feeling to the island.

I believe we should simply stay on this Island until 3.0. As Skippy and other probably already said. (I read Page 1-5-6) I don't want work diverted towards yet another Island, but would much rather it stay focused upon 3.0, and possible events on 2.5 which could be making us want to leave and change islands.

(Monsoon, Floods, Thunderstorms, eruption, etcetc...)

I don't think changing Islands continually will be good for roleplay, because people will constantly be setting up, building and finding food instead of actually having an RP friendly environment and Roleplaying. Wether you like it or not, people will be unhappy about loosing all they worked for continually, and if we keep changing we will only end up having discouraged people who can't be bothered to build and who will make simply little buildings that don't look like much.

(You might say that that's how it would work in RP, but I certainly don't want to play on a map that's made only of slums.)

The only thing I think should change is the feared mob spawn, it's absolutely atrocious and from what Alan said it wasn't even meant to be like this. I can litteraly spawn on the docks and I don't even need to move for a mob to begin running at me. And going anywhere at night is a guarantee to have at least 15-20 mobs attack you at one moment.

That isn't fearing the night, it's just plain annoying and restrictive.

If we do move to another Island, I'd like to see tents, primitive log palisades and campfires instead of cities, buildings and friggin' castles. It's supposed to be a stop over, so let's make it that way. Any other stuff but camps and primitive structures are in truth unrealistic.

I have one very important idea. NO SNOW. Am I the only one annoyed at those full block snow things? They get everywhere and they are just really ugly and annoying. Also, less mobs. The current map is barely playable due to the incredibly annoying amount of mobs. Making something dangerous is one thing, making something unplayable and annoying beyond all recognition is another.

My idea: Take it easy.

I'd personally like the multiverse plugin to be finished sooner, so we can mine more minerals like lapis and redstone, without having the risk of running into diamonds. Currently, if any one bothers to look, the entire maps is near enough hollowed out by massive mining parties ran by the nations, and some of my friends have jested that you can walk from the orcs to the dwarves without seeing the light of day. The mining of Elysium was a mess, and I'd like to see it rectified.

Also, I'd like to see more restriction on building, as many a time I saw a castle being thrown up and occupied by two people, when it could house twenty. The elves, dwarves and orcs haven't done this, but I look to my own race, of the Orenians. We could do with a main city, a couple of forts and possibly a second village. Nether the less, I hope this map brings fun.

Currently I've invested a lot of time into 2.5 (Mining, building etc.) and to be quite frank I cba to do it all again. There's absolutely no point to move again whats so ever.

I like the current map we are on, but there needs to be lees mobs and MORE volcanic activity. Mobs ruin RP when you get overrun by them and seeing that we have colonized much of the island, there would naturally be less mobs as we have killed so many. As for the volcano, it should be an active one. THat creates so much more RP.

THis is just me but I think that we shouldn't even try for another island. Why not just use all the builders for the 3.0 map, so we can transition faster?

I couldn't agree more with this. I mean seriously? Who wants to rebuild again on another temp map? Just keep this until 3.0.

Make redstone available.

I honestly couldn't care less whether we stay on this map until 3.0 or move to a different island. We were never going to keep what we've built and gathered on these islands for any significant length of time anyway. A new map might even be fun.

But please, give us redstone.
