Lacking Rp In Solace?

Through my time here in solace, I've seen a myriad of shields, banner men, and gladiants come through. Their RP was never exceptional enough to compete with the rp coming through Solace in my eyes.

When I left solace, i'd always hear about the lack of good RP there. Again and again this would pop up.

So tell me guys... what do you think?

ANY AND ALL IDEAS ARE RESPECTED AND I EXPECT THE SHIELD LEADERS TO LOOK INTO THIS TOPIC AND SORT OF MODERATE IT AS I WILL BE DOING.

(It's your responsibility to improve their rp as well as make the rp fun for everyone else around them.)

Even besides the shields, what else needs to be changed in Solace in the way of RP?

All I've ever seen is a bunch of dudes just jumping around while 2 or 3 RP a conversation. I understand how annoying it can be when there's lots of chat filling up the screen (have you been to Malinor recently?) but that is better than not doing anything.

It just seems many of the citizens don't have well developed characters and just sit around waiting for orders to attack someone.

It's typical for a reason. Old Salvus used too be populated, and /this/ Salvus isn't populated because this map is open, and people can build their own house. In 3.0, Salvus will be much better, more houses, more population, more RP.

I'm not going to turn this into some flame war, Im saying that we need to IMPROVE OUR RP AS A GROUP. The Shields provoked me into writing this. If we do have any noobish members left, they need to be taught by a /LEADER/ which you were selected to be.

Do you remember when you first started rping Galendar? Most of our player base in Salvus is new players because I encourage new players to join us as I find it very fulfilling to help them by surrounding them in a RP environment and give criticism where they make mistakes or faults.

You could also help improve Salvus RP by PMing them once in awhile when you noticed a meta or power gaming happen. It is not your place nor is it your right to blatantly call them noobs when they are new. We all started RPing somewhere.

Because of the new players that are often in Salvus, Veterans or mildly old players are often turned off by the sound of it but they are only making it worse by attacking them about their rp instead of helping try to evolve them into a proper rp standard we can be proud about. My advice for for you is if you see a Shield causing trouble give them constructive criticism through a mature PM.

If we all help each other instead of attacking we'd be a lot more knitted together group of Rpers. We can all help each other to make a great RP community in Salvus, or even server wide.

Didn't mean noob in a bad way, but I see as it is rather derogative. I was wrong about this, and never said my rp was good AT ALL. I agree with everything you said. I mean nothing to be rude or derogative, I didn't really look at this in the right light, my apologies for anyone I did or possibly have offended. Thank you Redbaron.

Well, I'm coming back to Solace/Shields again. Going to try to create RP again in the Solace/Shield area again :). I killed my old Char John Smithings though I worked on him a lot for reasons. One being in hopes of drawing Good Rpers in because at the time words were going around ((back a few months ago I believe))that Solace was just a place of meta-gamers and bad rp players. I hope it did good that I killed my char for those hopes though.

Enjoyed Solace in 2.0 ...Sure the people werent fans of Shrike but I just liked it. The sort of place where you could have fun and they were friendly with you even if you were a murderer xDDD

Naa Just more people. Wait is their a 2.5 Solace?

With the resent influx of people joining the server, and Shield posters being everywhere it has been tough because Noble is tiny. When we kit the new island we are making it bigger like old Solace which will decrease the chat a good amount.
