History

Growing Up.

It would make sense why Galendar hated his father, but not why he took so much interest in becoming a knight, or atleast a soldier of some army. His father said he could be some sort of, "Water boy" but his mother always told him he could do whatever he wanted in life, as long as he wanted it bad enough. Galendar made it his life purpose to head out to become a soldier, to fullfill his lifetime dream.

Galendar grew up on teh farm his father was given by Symodimi Draecana. When they reached the new world of Asulon, his family lived on the streets, without money, without purpose. Galendar strived for purpose. When Galendar was young he remembered his father off fighting in battles and farming the fields inwitch they lived on. Now... his father was a drunk, he abused his wife,Ceto, and always had some type of alcoholic beverage.

The Beginning of his Dedication

He left Arethor at age 18, and drifted around for several months. Then he found a poster that displayed a huge castle-like fortress and a marvel of a palace. It said, "RECRUITING BANNER MEN! COME TO SOLACE!" That was the turning point of his life.

He rushed into Arethor where a man pointed him for the horse to Solace. Without thinking, he dove atop the horse and headed off for Solace. When he arrived, he marveled at the gates, the walls, the shining banner men of the Hightowers, and all Solace's imense glory.
He ran into the city looking at all the people, busy about doing their work and such. Galendar just walked straight up through the city, following the signs to the palace where he requested to become a banner man of the Hightowers. (To Lancel Hightower and Alyssia Hightower- exact people in the thrones at the time) He addressed himself to the prince and kept a careful eye on the two constables, Doone and Moxxi. Moxxi was the strong silent type to him, but Doone was a happy person who seemed to greatly appreciate him joining the banner men.
Doone took him to the barracks, got him his bunk, gave him his uniform, weapons, food and such. Then he was instructed to take gate duty. Gate duty... the good ol' days of sitting up in the gate house, making fun of Rocco as he tryed to get into the city. Those were probably the most miserable 3 years of his life.
Then the fighting against the Flays started. They charged across the eastfields near Solace, spotting the Flays, and immediately chasing them down and slaughtering them. It was Galendar's first taste of real war, real accomplishment.
Years past, the Gladiants rose, reformed the Gladiants, ended the Gladiants, created the shields.
Galendar had been promoted to the High Gladius of Salvus (leader of the guard and military) He stayed into that position until his outrageous temper got him demoted and removed from the guard. He then left Solace for a good long time.

The days of Unknown Rebellion

Galendar had nowhere to go, Solace had upset him greatly, and he needed a break from Oren before he snapped. Tiburon, Galendar's best friend of all, was the leader of a settlement far out in the wilds, Khabbi. Tiburon invited Galendar to come to Khabbi and take a position in their military to help train their recruits and help build the city itself.

It was all a great time for Galendar, he made frequent visits to Solace and Arethor alike. He finally got his home, a purpose, a great life, yet there was longing in Galendar. He longed for Solace. The breeze, the smell, the sounds, the community, they all fed Galendar's wants.
It came to the day when Khabbi was done. Tiburon had hung himself, his wife gone with their child, and the city in ruin due to the attacks from a unorganized troop of bandits. Galendar had nowhere to go but where he wanted, Solace. Though he couldn't return to Solace yet. He went to the Elendils and became a guard for them, but then left to find another job.
Eze'kiel Tarus came up to Galendar (An old friend from previous occasions.) and asked him to join his army as his own personal bodyguard. Galendar whole-heartidly accepted, and headed off the Eze'kiel's city.
It was unlike Galendar had ever seen, a giant dragon cavern. The dwarves had renovated it for their own tastes and given Eze'kiel a section of it. There, he met Ryder, his best friend. (Known as "Sister" to him) That day, Galendar swore to Eze'kiel to protect Ryder and him to the best of his abilities. At the time, Galendar didn't know he was rebelling against Oren.
It came the day when news of Eze'kiels death reached him. He wondered, "Why?" but never was told. Then Ryder appeared, in tears, her spirit broken. She cryed to him as they spoke of all that had happened, he himself shed several tears, but not as much as Ryder.

The Return to his old Life

Galendar stayed bound to Ryder, never leaving her side unless intstructed by her. Then one day, the man who opposed her before, Lancel, was to be her new love? Declared by her! Galendar was shocked, he asked her, "What the fawk are you thinking? You think you're gonna marry the man who opposed you and your old husband? Rediculous!"

The only reason Galendar returned to Solace was because of Ryder. He had sworn to Eze'kiel that he would protect her, and to her. Off he went, carrying all his goods back to Solace.
Ryder married Lancel shortly after, and Galendar got himself a manor in the middle tier of the city. The living was good, the bed was warm and large. He never felt more at home, but more longing of his old life.
Galendar then became the royal bodyguard to house Hightower (later Horen-Hightower) And again, dedicated himself to another person. This oath though, was never to be broken and will NEVER be broken unless released by Lancel himself.

The end of Asulon

As the storms pounded in, he stood by Ryder and Lancel. They reached the capitol ship of the Oren navy and headed off to the unknown lands.

Elysium, a bloody island full of monsters and danger. Galendar was ever vigilant of what goes on around the Horen-Hightowers there. He hardly rest, and hardly ate. Ryder reminded him constantly to be careful and take better care of himself, but he didnt, to blind by his oaths.
His body became weak, and he took frequent trips to the Vale and the Dwarven lands to regenerate his helath. He ate better, slept better, and returned with a smile on his face. Galendar had returned and continued to do his duties as required.
It seemed Lancel and Ryder enjoyed to have a 6'7" giant of a man watching over the people who came into the throne room. When asked by Lancel and or Ryder, he would escort the people out, sometimes leading to a fight, but that was something he always delt with.

His Ultimate Dream Comes True

Lancel called him to the throne room, a smile on his face as he talked. (Unusual look for Lancel) He asked him if he could be trusted. How did he know he could trust him? Galendar responded by explaining his dedication to Ryder and more so to Lancel now. Lancel bestowed upon him a job inwitch he hoped he could complete. Though Galendar tryed, he couldn't get the information he needed.

Lancel liked his effort, his willingness to serve him and his house. It was only a matter of time before he was called back before Lancel. He was made to take a knee below Lancel, he knighted him to be the only knight of Salvus at the time.
This position greatly excited him, and he felt he had finally proven himself. He had done what he thought unthinkable. Anything that comes after this would be out of his imagination. The title of Ser Galendar meant nothing to him. The duties that came from being Ser Galendar were what meant most to him. He pursues these duties to this day, striving to improve himself and prove himself to Lancel.

The End of the Bear

Galendar enjoyed his life in Elysium, protecting Ryder, taking orders from Lancel and instructing shields. As time passed, he grew older, at around 33 he married a gorgeous woman, in his eyes, Wither. They loved each other dearly, never fighting. With her, he had three children. They were Benton, Mayah, and Jay. Mayah died at seven to a lich and Jay disappeared. Benton on the other hand, lived happily. Though, it was obvious times were becoming rough. Aron had recently lost his wife, Wocket. Galendar had tried his best to be friends with Aron, but his anger and rage towards his friend pushed him away. In the end, Aron ordered Galendar be whipped for an accidental slip of his tongue. Galendar shockingly broke his oaths and left his titles behind, leaving Salvus or "Noble" at the time. He arrived at the House Valois fort, joining their ranks and becoming a high ranking officer instantly. He traveled to Kalos with them. Once there, he lived in their giant manor atop the mountains. He enjoyed the life, though, Wither had disappeared with Jay shockingly. Galendar had adopted a new son though, Kay Elendil, son of Artorus Hightower and Isabella Elendil. He raised him to the best of his abilities. Though it all came grinding to a halt. He had gone to visit Ryder in the nearby castle, when he arrived, he was brutalized by Shields, ending up being shot in the leg by an idiotic shield. He crumpled to the ground, his leg becoming infected. Galendar wrote many letters and instructions to his son, Benton, and people he knew. The most detailed was to Ryder, it was covered in tears as he couldn't compose himself well enough to write a letter to his sister without breaking down. Galendar died slowly and painfully, leaving his family's name to Benton, his favorite son.
