A Hammer Rings In The Halls

 Share

You stumble upon the Dwarven Halls in Kalos. What is it that you hear in the distant depths? A hammer rings with might, almost as if summoning the ancient elders of Smithing into action. The Anvil seems resilient to the hammer's motions, almost as if pleading for help.

You step closer, your curiosity seems to grow an entity of itself, growling within your own essence as you step out of the corner of the hall. You find a Dwarf, shrouded by shadows, working on a large sword, that seems bigger than the Dwarf in question. However, you notice the Dwarf's glimmering eyes, what is wrong with the Dwarf? He bears an immense mighty beard, with golden braids, and his eyes shift at you, glimmering like two prancing torches in the darkness. You would come closer, but he halted at you with a thundering voice, obviously echoed by the Anvil and the hall itself.

"Are you afraid? I once thought it so."

Dormin glares at the new presence as he continues to hammer the sword, the sparks fleeing from the clash of metals. The hammer of Dormin glims it's runic carvings. He stays quiet for a while, looking at the sword with a hungry gaze,  before he stops, placing the sword in the water, shifting his eyes back at you.

"My once childish behavior now only brings shame to me."

His eyes now seem to shout of sadness, Dormin tilting his head slightly, holding back his tears, as he did for his entire life.

"The Runes of my lord shine strong. My spirit needs reforging..."

He nodded his head, closing his eyes whilst doing the motion. You seem astonished at the Dwarf, he seems to be aware of your presence... Yet, he seems to take you as you were another person.

"The blights I have lead, the mighty of my hammer has stained the blood of the innocent. The mere thought now, instead of satisfaction, sheds of only dishonor."

He then goes back to hammering the sword, taking it out of the water pot.

"I.. I can only ask for time. Time to earn what I strive for."

He seems to nod again, but his eyes, staring at the sword being smithed away, seem to remain still on their place.

"Dormmar kaderra'kaat, vo'thiik ni' throl, vo'dromma' ni' drom."

He speaks in an odd language, one you had never heard before.

"Dormmar judges. runes without runesmith, faith without worshipers."

You hear him repeat what he said, but in Common, and you begin to think. You may be aware of Dormmar? Who is Dormmar?

"The somber shrouds upon me, on the seventeenth cycle of my life. The blood seems no longer alluring to me."

The Dwarf in front of you awaits for your answer.

((My 120th birthday! :D, on the other hand, this is a time for change of my character. This is when everything gets more serious, no more stark-like behavior, I'm going to make Urir Ire'eart proud, if he could see me (He actually can, silly Goldrim <3.) and all my family. I am, I believe, an image for the young Ulgrim, Urric and Norgrim to follow, and my character needs to man up and become less Orcish. He will remain a villain, just... No more "Brutal" like before.))

Norgrim seems sombre as he watches the display, his customary grin of amusement failing to surface. His eyes watch his cousin as he hears Dormin's words.

"Oi feel ta change in yeh cousin. Strange indeed it seems ta meh an' thought provokin'...."

Norgrim scratches his as yet naked chin, his manner for once betraying the deep thought that he is often engaged in, his own eyes peering at Dormin from the dark.

Hodir blinks everytime a clash is heard through the halls of Kalos, as the clashes continue he becomes more paranoid by the second, rocking back and forth in his seat as his eyes start to frantically zap around the room, the feeling of a presence being present overwhelming him.
