Smithers 388 Share Posted March 8, 2013 Silir'ilume's visage descends into that of a deep-rooted scowl as he observes the note being torn down. He stands near Elene, eyes narrow. He nods in agreement with her statement, responding and glaring pointedly at the Sentinels present. His mouth opens as he begins to speak in a sharp and sarcastic tone. "You are correct. Of course, did you truly expect the so-called 'guardians' and 'protectors' of those within Malinor to remain subservient to their own laws? Obviously they are all above the law. But of course, freedom of speech within the confines of Malinor will never truly exist. I do believe it's about time I had a discussion with my fellow Mali'thill regarding our current standing within Malinor. Our... position needs reevaluation. Of course, if such instances within Malinor aren't halted soon enough I'm sure many will not see it fit to remain."
VonEbs 1224 Author Share Posted March 8, 2013 Ebs wrinkles his nose in slight disgust at the un-mali like behavior exhibited by the Sentinels and officials of the government, oppressing people's freedom of speech. He looks to Elene and Silir briefly, and says, "Now one might be able to see why I was no longer able to work with the current government. It resorts to physical suppression to defend its positions on issues, not on words and the merits of debate. Surely my right to the freedom of speech is just as important as any other message. If one is no longer able to post a notice or letter in protest to the state, then I truly fear for the future of Malinor. It seems like Kolyat is unable to stop this foolishness, unable to control the Sentinels. At some point Malinor became a police state where any Sentinel could do whatever they wished, despite the law. One might even say that the High Council of Malinor no longer represents the people of Malinor at all, and that they have fallen out of touch with what the Princedom needs and wants. If the laws of Malinor are to be truly respected, these sentinels will be found and dismissed, as well as the current Lower Council Member Enyahs for assault on my freedom of speech." Dromui 755 Share Posted March 8, 2013 Azel puts the posters up around Malinor before walking up beside Silir, gently patting his shoulder. He smiles up at the tall Elf, one of his eyebrows raised in question. "For once I can agree with the majority~"
Enyahs V. 173 Share Posted March 9, 2013 Enyahs comes back, taking the resignation down again. Moment later he returns with new notes and torn quote form Ebs' new note. "If one is no longer able to post a notice or letter in protest to the state, then I truly fear for the future of Malinor." Doing so in a public place can be looked upon as in-sighting a riot. If you wish to protest a government decision, then do so privately. "It seems like Kolyat is unable to stop this foolishness, unable to control the Sentinels. If this is your idea of using your free speech logically, then you are wrong. I shall quote the law for you. All citizens may publicly criticize whatever they so desire without fear of retaliation, so long as they do so in a logical and respectful manner. What you did there was disrespected the decisions of the high council. That is not respectful or logical. These are the reasons your resignation was torn down to begin with. How pleasant."
Lord_Sauron_ 43 Share Posted March 9, 2013 *Vanir walks by and bares his teeth, snarling at the latest post. His identity shrouded by his hood, he rips out a piece of paper from his journal and begins to scribble on it with a curious looking quill.* You are disgusting! You do not recognize our freedoms and our rights, even when they follow your law. You read these intelligent complaints and seek to silence the source rather than fix the cause. So it is here that I do not respect your laws, as you do not respect us. You seem to be under the impression that we believe the council is representative of our wishes as Mali. You are wrong! The facade has gone on long enough. The high council is representative of their own wishes, their own delusions, and are going to cause the downfall of all Mali! We try reform, we try complaints, we try private correspondance, you spit in the face of them all! You are slowly taking away our options as common Mali with your responses or lack thereof. Be wary you do not incite our last resort. I cannot be alone in believing tuat there is only one or two official in the council who actually deserves the role. The rest we would be better off rid of... or so you show us with your continued lack of concrete actions, blatant disregard for our rights, and disgusting silencing of those who are intelligent and complain. Never mind the fact that you personally, Enyahs, have assaulted a Mali in a clear premedititated act without any just cause. You know who I am. I have not forgotten. You tried to get me to defend myself, so I would be thrown in jail for assaulting a council member. When I did not, you held a piece of iron in fist and slammed it into my back, which I did nothing to resist or dodge. Weknow of your corruption and villainry. You would do well to not silence the voices of the people. I will write as many of these as necessary, and will post them as fast as you take them down. Until you show respect to us, I see no reason to do it to you or the council as a whole. *Vanir takes a piece of flint and slams it into the board, piercimg the top of the paper and the bottom of Enyahs'. He whips around, and strides off to copy the message and post it on all the other pieces of paper that Enyahs has put up, with his identity masked the entire time. He storms out of Malinor when done, growling impatiently at any who are in his way.*
VonEbs 1224 Author Share Posted March 9, 2013 "Since when did disagreeing and disrespecting become the same thing? You sir, have never been in a riot. In a real riot, you and your head would no longer be attached. I would never advocate violence against another Mali, however. I believe my arguments are logical, and perhaps respect should only be payed where it is truly deserved."

"You crossed the line of disagreeing when you posted propaganda telling the citizens of Malinor to wipe their ass with our currency. I understand you are upset about being let go, or forced to resign, but what your doing is similar to the actions of a child vallah. We are elves, and you are a grown ass mali maybe you should start acting like it."
VonEbs 1224 Author Share Posted March 10, 2013 "One might note that my resignation letter was torn down a seed before I posted my satirical exposé. One might also note that calling me an ass is not exactly respectful. I feel no need to display special concern for a mali who left for one of the most trying ties of our race, only to come back and be handed the Princes position on a silver platter. If it had not been for my tireless labor through Kalos, the Mali would be blown to the winds. Not only do you and your government deserve no respect, you are the laughing stock of every other nation. But whatever I do will never effect change, you will only bring more destruction on Malinor, and I am more than happy to let you."

Kanrath 190 Share Posted March 11, 2013 *Tenshar walks through Malinor, as he has done many times before in his wanderings around the new lands, and watches as elf argues with elf and others tear down posters while others put more up. As he watches he cannot help but mutter to himself.* " I feel like I took a misstep and walked into Salvus. This is not how elves should act, it's like they see the mistake that resulted from their actions but are unwilling to try to fix it. Even humans know when something is broken it's only natural to fix it. It's unfortunate that Enyahs got dragged into this, I mean he is an engineer as am I and money has never been our strong point. I can only hope he washes his hands of this situation befor it is too late, for his sake and the sake of his family. *As he continues to walk, the half-elf mutters one last thing before he leaves the city* "Though perhaps such is easier to see when ones life is short and so one must think quickly and act quickly. After all we non pure blooded elves and humans don't have the time to do things as elves do, take an action without much planning then watch the results and correct the mistake. Instead we short lived ones must ensure there are no mistakes to start."

For every poster, note, and letter you find there are five or more perfectly content mali. No one screams from the roof tops when they are happy. As for Enyas, I am not sure of his past but seems to be doing a great job. We curently house more and more elves each moon. Not to mention our new currency is being traded in shops, and has started to successfuly circulate. The new system will work, these elves that act like vallah with thier impatient ways, wll just have to wait and see."
