A Brave Soul

The soft sound of crunching stone can be heard through Salvus. A young girl, now ten and ready to start her harder studies, wheels herself around the square. She has a bright smile on her young face despite the hardships that come her way. This was a young half-elf. Not any half-elf. This was Kaila, a Mali'ker halfbreed. She smiles softly at the people around her as they go through their daily lives. Her favorite book on her lap as she parks herself by the lion statue, her favorite place to relax.
 
A shield stands nearby, vigilant for the young halfbreed. Although some of the shields perceive her as a princess, she does not carry the title. She considers herself a normal girl. The occasional insult is thrown at her but she just sits there reading quietly. She has grown used to being called several foul names and it no longer bothers her. No, the only thing that bothers her anymore, is the fact that, since she was five she has been mostly alone. Her mother is off in hiding, her father works, and the only time she sees her brother is when he wants to tease her.
 
Now unable to walk, she finds she is more reliant on people and their attention. Unable to get back into the keep on her own, she is sometimes found, staring up from the gates, waiting for someone to push her up. She keeps up her brave face. The scar of the incident hidden under her dark blue gown. She touches her ears as she reads, reassuring herself they were still intact. Her eyes look up to see who is in the square today. Maybe she can learn something new today, maybe.

((Although Kaila is known by many already, this post is meant to see who she can interact with, and maybe find her some teachers. She has a music teacher, an alchemist, and a Mali'ker teacher. ^_^))

(( I am not sure weather I should reply to this OOC, especially since it's the first reply and all, and pardon me if I'm doing something wrong, but I've just got to say the fact that I play a Doctor, a devout one too, the fact that this is the first time I've seen a cripple on LotC who isn't just someone who scarred themselves badly in some battle, is just awesome and highly original to say the least. This coupled with the fact that I may see a girl of 10 year old elf studying her brains out in a wheelchair, looking at stairs as her every day enemies, might as well make my cry IC, and I'm usually very cynical when it comes to injuries, having seen so many. :P))

((Not saying it hasnt, and if she starts walking, it will be sooner than 15 years. She is a Mali'Ker halfbreed born to Prince Garth. She so far is very unique and being only 10 now, she is bright and unwilling to let her being crippled stop her from meeting people and trying to learn. Reading is not to ease boredom, she enjoys it. She needs friends, teachers. People who would look at her like a person, not as halfbreed filth))

*Raktar waddles over to Kaila, handing her a freshly picked flower. He has a worried look on his face as he stares a Kaila's wheelchair, "Hoaw is lat today honey?"*

Kaila looks over at Raktar and smiles, taking the flower. "I am feeling fine." she says softly. Her eyes looking to him with kindness.

Raktar nods, taking a seat next to Kaila. "Mi tink mi knuw hoaw tuu heal ub latz legz, 'dah drooid's maybeh kan fix 'dem!" Raktar says with excitement.

Kaila looks to her legs and sighs. "I am getting used to the chair." she says softly. "Plus they said I should be able to walk again." Her voice does not sound too hopeful.

The Sword of the Sorrow's Wind, leans against the rails. He leans on a cane. The pains sometimes still returned in vast amounts. He turns and sees the Imperial Princess. He winces, seeing how she is crippled. He was lucky to get away from that fight still able to walk, even if he did rely on a cane heavily now. He searches through his bag, but finds nothing with which to help. He sighs. He felt useless now. He had failed his comrades, his friends, his family. Most of all, himself. He leans there, thinking. And waiting, for a day when he might one day be released from this pain. He now understood what it meant, to be lonely when he was not alone. He remains there, but does not start up conversation unless spoken to. He grimaces, as he stands there, pain ripping into his side once more.

Aislinn walks up to Kaila, a small smile on his face. He carries a boxed cake, standing infront of her.

He suppresses a frown as he notices her new condition, but he does his best to keep a happy appearance anyway.

Kaila looks over at Aislinn and smiles brightly. "Hello mr Aislinn. I am doing good." she says softly as she looks up at him.
