Out-Of-Character Information
Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate.

Main Account Name: radferrari
Alternate Account Name: RocketHaul
How old are you?: 14
Time-Zone: AEST/GMT+10
Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes
What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I have been on the server for a fairly long while.

Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: Role playing (RP for short) is essentially acting out a fictional (more often than not fictional) character’s life, and doing everything as they, the character, would.

Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is using Out of Character (OOC) information in role play (RP) for an in-character advantage, or knowing something that your character should not. An example would be;
*John sneaks up behind Bill, silently drawing his short, curved knife, preparing to slash Bill’s neck (Now, if Bill meta-gamed, he would go along the lines of this:) *Bill pivots on his heel, drawing his crude shortsword and slashing in one motion at Bill. (A more appropriate response would be:) *Bill continues his slow, lumbering walk, oblivious to the man lurking in the shadows behind him.

Power-emoting: Power-emoting, or power gaming, is, in all essence, god-moding your character, and thus making your character unbeatable. However, they do differ slightly. power-emoting is more the act of forcing your opponents reaction, and not letting them dictate what their character would do. An example of power-emoting is: *Phil raises his large, two-handed claymore up in the air, and swings it down with a roar of anger, severing Tom’s arm at the shoulder.

Power gaming, is more the act of making your character more like an indestructible god than a mortal being. Power gaming characters tend to be unbeatable, and have little to no flaws. An example of power gaming is: *the cloth of Tom’s thin shirt sleeve stops Phil’s blade, and he front-flips over Phil, throwing six daggers as he does so.

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: John Geminine
Current Age: 18
Race: Human
Sub-race (if any): N/A
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

John was born to a prostitute, who was a “lady friend” of Aliestor Geminine. He had a sister that was his elder by seven years, Megan. His father was very friendly with the ladies of the land, and had many other “lady friends”, alongside John and Megan’s mother. However, due to his rank as a noble, he could, and would not, marry Areya Rose, as it would be extremely unseemly and frowned upon.

Despite Areya’s best efforts, she was not a suitable mother for the pair, and as such, Megan left at the age of 17, leaving John all on his lonesome at the age of ten. As time went on, John was slowly educated by a kindly librarian, as his mother could not afford a tutor for John. As John learnt more about numbers and letters, he also learnt more about people, namely the unpleasant kind, the sort the frequented his mother’s “workplace”. He gradually became less and less trusting of the new people he met, and at the same pace, began to value honesty in higher and higher regard. One of his mother’s more frequent clients was a an ugly, balding man with a foul temper, and various addictions. This was the man that John came to hate beyond all others, as he was constantly given bruises.
As time went on, the man became progressively more violent, till just a week after John’s birthday, he came, and tried to beat him bloody, his thoughts whisked away by alcohol and cactus green. However, when John put up resistance, and bloodied the man’s nose with a good punch, the man snapped. He swung punch after punch into John’s face, splitting his lip, blackening both his eyes, and causing various other cuts. However, the man was not done. When he stood, and let John crying on the ground, flickering between consciousness and unconsciousness, he grabbed a nearby cattle whip, and struck it hard on John’s face, tearing the skin with the frayed ends, the twist in them not longer apparent. As John rolled over in pain, the man began flaying John’s back, till it was nothing more than an open wound. Upon finishing this, he went to enter Areya’s place of work, and the last thing John saw before he blacked out was the man being trampled by a horse.

Days later, after John had re-awoken properly for the first time, he found the man was to be whipped at the post. He merely groaned weakly, and went back to sleep.

At the day of the lashings, John was given ringside seating, and watched with barely disguised glee as the man he so hated was given 50 lashings. After the ringing cracks of the whip had fallen silent, the man’s back was nothing more than raw flesh. As they dragged away the unconscious figure, John smiled at the justice served, his now scarred face creasing.

The years slowly slid by, John getting a job at the age of 15, working as a blacksmith’s assistant, which build up his strength. He worked tirelessly for 2 years, before the blacksmith, Peter, gave him a finely crafted longsword. The blade was made of fine steel, with a plain brass cross piece, the handle wrapped in leather, the only decoration about the blade, an emerald in the pommel. The sword was given to John as a birthday gift on his seventeenth birthday, and he was given basic training with the blade, by the blacksmith himself. John had some natural skill with a blade, and caught on fairly quickly.

John trained daily, becoming quite skilled with the blade, fighting in a an unprofessional, yet dangerous style. He slowly, with the help of the blacksmith, made armour for him to wear, a chainmail shirt, with chainmail leggings, light plate armour on his arms and shoulders, with plate knee guards.

On the day of his eighteenth birthday, he set off to find his sister, and help rebuild the once proud Geminine family. . .

Ambitions for the Future: To help rebuild the Geminine house, and become the leader of their military force
Personality: Honest, untrusting of new people, however, is quite violent, with a short temper.
Skills: Not bad with his longsword, has a loud voice, good at picking out liars, smart, but not in a book smart way. Usually quite confident and sure of himself. Can make forge rough items.

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):

John is about 6”5’, with broad shoulders, strong back and core from working in the blacksmith’s shop. He has wide smile, with healthy teeth, and a small beard being grown along his jawline, as well as a moustache connecting it. His green eyes are honest, yet cautious. He has blonde hair worn short in a more military style, yet with enough length to be seen as rebellious. He wears good quality plate armour on his arms, and good chain over his body and legs. He has leather gloves for hand protection. His back is covered in scars, and his face has a scar that is almost lightning-esque over the left side of his face, which marrs what would be quite a handsome face. He wears a long scabbard at his side, which holds his longsword. He wears a white tabbard that has the Geminine anvil upon it.

SKIN:

Well done!

Please wait patiently for a Gm to white-list your alternate account!

Your overall application was at a good standard. You placed a lot of effort into the application and it is clear that you took your time and inserted a high amount of information to supply this application with a good definition of each of the three definitions. Your biography was at a decent length and displayed a average amount of information about your character. Even though you didn't have an image of your skin, I trust you that it is appropriate for your character.

Good Luck with your role play!

Ben~
