Fighting Against Tyranny: An Interview with Rebel King Duregar Thunderfist

"Nae mur pointless taxin’ en arrestin en Vaer’haven. En t’e Adunians will return tuh t’ese lands."

Rebel King Duregar agreed to sit down with Editor Ebs Telrunya earlier this seed to discuss the rebellion he brazenly started last year. The interview can be found below.

Ebs: King Duregar, thank you for taking the time to sit down with me for this interview.

Duregar: Noice tuh meet ye.

Ebs: So, in the North, having experienced our own civil war or sorts not too long ago, we are quite interested in what is happening here in the South.

Duregar: Oi wud assume so.

Ebs: Could you perhaps give me some background on how this rebellion came about?

Duregar: *nods, and says* King T’orin beh recreatin’ t’e Grandaxe dictatuhship. Kilgrim, leaduh o’ t’e Irongut clan wassuh fool. Oi Oi told t’e Ironguts weh ‘ave tuh leave. ‘Alf agreed’ ‘alf didn’t. T’e clergy Ironguts stuch wif Kilgrim, whoile t’e alchemy Ironguts stuck wif meh. We furmed t’e T’undahfists. At first, weh decoided tuh jest leave. But, t’en weh realized weh cudnae jest leave t’e Dwarven Kingdom. A clan cannae jest quite. Anot’uh clan agreed wif us. Weh t’en decoided tuh start a rebellion. T’e overt’row T’orin’s dictatorship. Weh gained allies. En ‘ere weh are tudeh.

Ebs: Now, the question everyone seems to be asking is that do you believe you can win this war?

Duregar: Oi ‘hope so. T’e odds look close. Oi cannae, ‘owever, disclose out numahs.

Ebs: I understand completely. So, if you succeed in overthrowing King Thorin, what are your plans for the Kingdom of Urguan?

Duregar:  Well. Nae mur pointless taxin’ en arrestin en Vaer’haven. En t’e Adunians will return tuh t’ese lands.

Ebs: I see. The Adunians are currently without a land to call their home. You aim to fix that?

Duregar: *nods* Additionallah, t’e Lurd’s Coucnil will beh filled wif equal representation from ull t’e clans. We’ll ‘ave twuh councils. Un, contains ull t’e clanfat’uhs o’ evreh clan. T’e ot’uh. Contains multiple representatives based un numbuhs o’ t’e clans. En, oi’ll ‘ave a smalluh council o’ advoisers. T’ey willnae ‘ave powuh, except fer advoice. Ulsuh, a system o’ checks en balances will beh made. Suh between t’e King, t’e first council, en t’e second, nuffin gets out o’ ‘and. T’at be ull fer nuh.

Ebs: None of us want another King Charles.

Duregar: *nods*

Ebs: Is there any other comment you would like to make?

Duregar:  Aye. T’e rebellion beh acceptin’ ull races. Suh, eff ye cud remoind people tuh join, oi’d beh verreh fenkful. Whethur et beh supplies, er troops. T’at be hull.

Ebs: Well, thank you very much for taking the time to speak with me.

Duregar: Nae problem.

Preserving the Halls of Urguan: An Interview with King Thorin

"I did send the Rebel King a messenge’, and ef ye be publishin this en yer thingie’ this rebel King and anyone w’o follows him will either bend the knee, or be crushed by my heel."

King Thorin, self-title High King of Urguan, sat down with Ebs Telrunya earlier this seed to discuss his role in the rebellion started by his counterpart, King Duregar. The interview can be found below.

Ebs: Your Majesty, thank you for agreeing to take time out of your busy schedule to meet with me.

Thorin: Well, let me explain w’ot I’ve been doin’.

Ebs: Go ahead.

Thorin: Every ‘old ‘as been given a fixed quota o’ food te the Kingdom each year. Ye must see, dat us dwarves canna produce fuuds outselves… weh eat soup wid coal, but dat neh the dood I want my people te eat. ‘Owever, this ‘asn’t seemed to beh a problem. T’ey never complained, actually the old Jarl was more than delighted.

Ebs: Hmm… I do believe the old Jarl died, perhaps the Council currently ruling Vaer’haven has problems with the taxes?

Thorin: T’ey never said anthin’.

Ebs: Hmm… that is most interesting. Do you have anything to say on the arrests of the group referred to as “the Fallen?”

Thorin: The arrests were in the agreements they made for the city’. Et said in the articals, actually. And there ‘as been assassination attempts on my Lords’

Ebs: I see. Are you confident that you and the Legion will be able to prevail over these rebels?

Thorin: The rebels are disorganized an’ neh ready for a war. Ef I could show ye… the kingdom’s coffers are more than full. The rebels ‘ave neh plan.

Ebs: So, as far as you are concerned, this is more of a when than an if?

Thorin: Aye, but I nae underestimate em’.

Ebs: A wise approach. Is there any other comment you would like to make King Thorin?

Thorin: I do believe these rebels think their cause it just, but they are wrong. They fight under a dwarf who renounce his Clan and Kingdom. They believe me as a dictator’ They dont remembur me savin them from the White Rose’. They forgot mi giving them funds to build the Hold’. I wouldn’t allow the slayin of mu Kin, so I demand the arrest of the assassins,’ instead, they call it unjust a arrest me men. An den they let them go, sayin it’s a musunderstandin. The Jarl, Jardel, ‘ad made a Blood-oath to me, personally.

Ebs: It would be fair to say you feel personally betrayed by this rebellion.

Thorin: Aye. One more thing.

Ebs: Go ahead.

Thorin: I did send the Rebel King a messenge’, and ef ye be publishin this en yer thingie’ this rebel King and anyone w’o follows him will either bend the knee, or be crushed by my heel.

Ebs: I will be certain to include that.

Thorin: Anywa’y, I must get te the treasury. Guua’y.

Ebs: Thank you, and may you find treasure under every stone.

Confrontation at Vaer’haven

While Ebs was speaking with King Thorin, a group of Legionaires attempted to enter Vaer’haven and take the city. Confronted by a large number of rebel fighters at the gates to the inner city, they retreated, taking one prisoner, a dwarf referred to as “Dizzy.” After this victory, spirits were raised in Vaer’haven, while the silent halls of Urguan seemed to emanate disappointment

A War Party Storms the Krelm

The Teutons outside of Krelm, rallying before breaking in.

Earlier this seed, a large war party, consisting of about 15 Teutons, stormed into Carrion land looking for a man known as “Chef.” Believing him to be within Lord Carrion’s keep, known as Krelm, they broke down the doors and either engaged or captured all the soldiers housed within. As stunned peasants looked on, various Teutons searched the town for Chef, and watched in horror as he was captured attempting to escape the city. It is not known why they were seeking him, however, it may be in connection with the ongoing conflict with House Blackmont, to whom House Carrion has sworn fealty. The north grows increasingly unstable each day, and one should travel there only if totally necessary.

Horen Crowned Emperor Horen V

“Let thy hand be strengthened and your right hand exalted. Let justice and judgment be the preparation of thy Seat and mercy and truth go before thy face”

Horen V was crowned Emperor this seed after the Final Address and Death of his father, Emperor Godfrey of Horen. Godfrey had united all the human realms under his throne many years ago, and he passes on a large and populous realm to his son. Additionally, Ari Horen was crowned Empress. Horen and Are already have several sons, so there will not be a scramble to produce an heir to the throne like other noble houses in Oren. Oren, which is comprised of the Kingdoms of Renatus, Hanseti, Salvus, Holm, and Seventis, the latter of two which no longer exist, represent the largest portion of Anthos’s population and military power. Today, Oren finds itself in new hands, and only time will tell if Horen proves to be as successful at governing as his father was.

*Joseph Henderson grips "The Flagship" tightly in his hand. He advances into the feasting hall and slams it upon the table in front of maur. He continues to speak in a hushed voice as he walks out, "Bullshit... Unstable my ass."
