(Ooc) A Request For Nobility.

As I do not know how or where to request this, I've decided to just start my own topic asking my question.

Life as a peasant has been rather dull for me lately, so I ask for permission from the house leader of the Horen-Hightowers to RP as a noble child. Of course, if there is no room in the Horen-Hightower house, then it is fine. I will just seek permission to join another noble families house.

Here is some info about my character thus far. I may add more when I come up with more ideas

Name: Arthur or Frederic (Second name is to be determined, but hopefully Horen-Hightower)

Age: Any age between 4-9, as I will let the noble family decide how old he will be for the time being.

Race: Human

Gender: Male

If anyone wants me to add a (sorta) backstory, feel free to say so and I will add one

Anyway, that's all for now. I'd prefer it if one of the nobles who can allow other people to be part of nobility to reply, but any constructive or friendly criticism or feedback is fine.

I think we have enough nobles :/

It's role-play. If I want to be a noble, I'm allowed to ask to be one. There's nothing stopping me :/

Why has life as a peasant been dull for you?

Trust me, being a noble is no different sir. Especially if you actually are of House Horen-Hightower, but a prince or princess. No one respects you as, previously said by Scipp3r, there are so many of them.

Life as a peasant in Oren is uncommon. Take a journey to Kralt or Ager, where full-peasantry RPers lurk and stay. You're not going to find fun peasant roleplay in places like Salvus or Abresi, unfortunately, as many people there are either of richer class or just people that refuse to know their place in society. In full or heavy peasant villages, people know their place andi it's fun.

If it was role pay we'd have a lot more peasants than nobles. I think the last oocily census had 53 % Peasants, 47 % Nobles. And yes there isn't anything stopping you, I am just stating my opinion just simply putting it out there.

Meehhh..... I suppose I just want to try a different perspective of role-play. On every RP server I've been on, I've RPed as a "lower class citizen". I think I just suppose I want to try something different. To lead a rich lifestyle. But thank you for the feedback. I will most probably have one noble character, and one normal character. Should my request of joining a royal family get accepted

Yes, I know. And you are right. In medieval times or the like, there were not many noble families around. But I just want to try a new perspective of role-play, as I've never RPed as a character of high position in the royal tree before.

Trust me, I rp Jarl of Vaerhaven, and being a noble is no different than being a low class citizen, because either way you will need minas, and minas are not just granted to you if you are a noble, if that is what you mean. In many cases, peasants have it better, since they can farm their own food and always have supplies. As a noble, you cannot simply order someone to do this for you,as no one will, and in the end, if you are short of minas, you will find yourself collecting the resources yourself.

I suppose.... but still, I'm willing to try out a noble lifestyle

If you want to rp a high class noble then just earn it. Don't be one of the many who just morph into it. The minority is already the peasants. It isn't impossible to earn nobility, you just have to work for it like all the old schoolers of Oren did.

I just want to clear this up. Non-nobles consist of 53% of Oren. Nobles consist of 47% of Oren. That does NOT mean that peasants are a minority. We simply want the non-nobles to become a larger majority.

It practically is, since there's so many of them around these days.

In all honesty being a prince or a noble isn't as good as you might think it is. It is often quite dull and doesn't leave room for much role play. Just explore a unique option or earn yourself the title of Lord.
