In all honesty being a prince or a noble isn't as good as you might think it is. It is often quite dull and doesn't leave room for much role play. Just explore a unique option or earn yourself the title of Lord.

I have been a noble for quite sometimes and might I say, it is hard, demanding, stressful and more then often not as enjoyable as one might think. For a lot of nobles I think that the rp consists of sitting at a dinner table and just waiting for someone to allow you to speak. Nobility restricts most rp'rs, probably more than a lower class. Nobility means you can't be friends with someone you like and it means you have a standard on how a prince should act and if you do anything to go out of this standard you often will get a target painted on your back. Nobility from the outside seems great, but once you get to the nity gritty it's overwhelmingly dull or just so stressful you quit lotc and rp.

There are some great things about peasant RP which most people overlook. As everyone seemed to say it is quite restricting, that is why I have never played one. I suggest you be in an Order such as the White Roses. In the White Roses there are some FANTASTIC role-players which would help in the long run. I usually have my characters have one major characteristic and that is being friendly. Also I would like to ask if you have a job. One of my favorite experiences of LOTC was in Kalos Roleplaying a bartender. There was no Role-play like this and I loved it. There was the same customers that you would become friends with but also some travelers by. I am not sure if it was because the perfect location on Toveah's(ChumpChump) tavern or not. I loved to put detail into making everything and overall made me better. In short, try to make a group of friends that you like to Role-play with, try to join a group of knights etc. or find a job. That seems to make Role-play not dull for me at least.

RP'n as a peasant can actually be much more fun. Nobles have to do all these things with politics and stress themselves out trying to run their land or assist in doing so.

Now, about the house you wanted to join...

It is the imperial house of Oren, if I am correct, they don't let people in on simple request. Silverblades are actually inviting people to make their own chars and join their house, if you -REALLY- want a noble character, I suggest joining them.

Get to know people OOCly and if you become their friend they'll most likely invite you into their house or ask you to play their characters child if they think you're good enough. Of course you should be making friends on TS anyway but that's just an added bonus.

I don't have as much of a problem with all the noble houses as I do with their extensive families, and people playing multiple nobles each. It's kind of a forum controversy, but it's true. But come to Kralt and be a peasant. It's fun. We drink vodka and play D&D.

Comrade Korthos  is far to correct. If you play as a noble, I would recommend playing as an extended family member. Cadet branches of families are sadly lacking. Although, if I were you I would attempt to grow into the position. When I first joined the server, I served as a bannerman to House Tarus, I joined the ranks of the Flays, squired for their lord, and eventually became a knight. It was enjoyable roleplay altogether, and I actually became gentry through roleplay, not by birth. I didn't start as one. I'm not sure what the regulations currently are on knights and whether or not they can be landed, but that may be a good place to start. Gentry, not nobility. Try to serve a lord, get a squire, and gain some followers. Maybe you'll even be granted some land and be allowed a holdfast. Albeit, this is a BIG thing to shoot for, something I've had to learn the hard way. However, that's your first lesson in nobility. If you don't have ambition, followers, capital, and land then the only difference in a noble and a peasant is who you're related too. Therefore, if you lack these things, I suggest sticking with peasantry. There are a good deal of "petty lords" and they would be better off working the fields.

Or you can hook up with the Emperor as a girl character. Who knows what could happen from there?
